PTFE tape is the best cuz it has no adhesive so it wont leak out in to your hole(lol) and it wont bother or irtate your ears

oh and tappering is okay but like once your at a 8g use tape it helps you strech every day and not pain or rips and you dont have do what i did or this girl just aply one round of tape to your plug every three days or so

i had my ears streched at one point and i closed them so i scalpled them to reopen it i went from nothing to 5/8 its not that bad at all it just looks bad it feels like a paper cut and when they put the plug in the pain stops

Some peoples earlobes are pierced unevenly, and they'd get it scalpelled to make them both even.

I'm about to do the same thing. I'll tell you why I can't stretch. My left earlobe, when I first got it pierced, had a bad healing process. For that reason it created scar tissue.

It has ALWAYS hurt to stretch it. I'm finally at a 2 guage and I CAN'T stretch it anymore. It is impossible to do without damage to make it even worse.

So I'm at a 2 guage, 1/4" I believe, and going to go to 7/16" basically a 000.

Cutting also breaks up the scar tissue for future stretching.

My ears are 26, I tell you, i've got scar tissue, it hurts to stretch, but it doesn't stop my from stretching them just hurts quite a bit. And i've stretched fast in the past, so my ears have torn a few times which caused scar tissue. there even, just wrinkly when i take them out. but thats not too much of a problem. providing there ace when there in im not too fussed.
