@xMTFxOzonex Sure, Pete's no Hendrix, Jimmy Page or Steve Vai... But what Pete has better than any other guitarist I've seen is his key. Kurt Cobain played and singed. Jimi Hendrix played and singed. But no once can play the types of chords and certain tremelo sections like he can, WHILE maintaining a perfect voice to play live. I think he deserves a little more credit. Give credit where credit is due.

@PuertoRicanBoi127 I agree completely. Sure he isn't an incredibly influential person, but it's not what he plays that makes me think he shoulda made the list... it's how. His playing style generates sound that rivals even 5-piece bands, and he seems to fill 3 roles at once - rhythm, lead and vocals. What's more is he does all of this live... and I think that this is enough to at least secure him a spot on the list in the 85 to 100 range.

@xMTFxOzonex Yup I think around 85-100 range too. Maybe like 90-100. But he definitely in my opinion deserves it. Pete really is AMAZING live. As is Dean and Sam. Chevelle in general plays VERY well live. And Pete always plays his lead parts while singing. He truly has mastered the craft of singing and playing. Of course no matter how good you are, there's always room for improvement. But even if hes not on the list we know he should be and a list doesn't decide how awesome Pete and Chevelle is.

Just cuz you can play a triple reverse pentatonic arrpegio in drop c tuning and shred a million notes, does not necessarily mean you're a good guitar player or worthy of top 100. Pete is due in the high 90 range... If not maybe in a 100 place. But still is due there. He's more skilled than peeps think. He just doesn't use it in Chevelle. He has heart and conviction as well when he plays. Most don't.

@xMTFxOzonex I'm not the least bit surprised, however, Rolling Stone's idea of a good guitar player is always extremely faulty. That being said, Pete's not a remarkable guitar player at all. That's coming from a guitar player that's enjoyed Chevelle since their first album. He is however a pretty good arranger for the guitar, but the majority of great, exceptional, and extraordinary guitar players are far more complex and diverse than he. I'd bet he'd be the first person to admit it.

@shadowanubis As opposed to their last albums? Most definitely, I have all their albums, and I think the only one that has as much Christian lyrical content as this one was their very first one. They've always been pretty secular, so when they talk about Christian philosophy its kinda rare. Here are some you can listen to that are "Christian" in tone.. Pinata/Envy/Arise and possibly Revenge. I found it odd, they are usually more secular in lyrical content.

Big chevelle fan, What I like best is their ability to stay in rhythm and make their sound seem like clockwork.. If you notice in all of their songs, their rhythm is about the same very consistent. Sam's drum really leads the band, and is perhaps one of the best drummers I know of.. not THE absolute best, but definitely very under rated. Also, Pete is one of the better rhythm guitarists I can think of. Its also like clockwork.. The constant riffs are just awesome.

@btssilence you are absolutely right...and I must say I read an interview they did and they said they don't support any political side they just support the people in their struggle; this whole movement (occupy) regardless if viewed right or wrong symbolizes that people have had enough and are trying to do something about it. Anyone realize that to solo sounds like the practical guitar solo in The Clincher (Version 103)? It has the rhythm and has similar notes although here in Letter From A Thief he adds ghost notes and pick up notes back to the main rhythm of the solo.
