  • does any one else feel funny where there cutting?

  • that looked like some easy shit, maybe ill become a surgeon. lol

  • had my surgery two and a half months ago and it has just gotten a whole lot worse. I got diagnosed in 2008 with achilles tendonitis and since then I've tried acupuncture, massage, anti-inflammatory pills, a lot of physical rehab execises, and now surgery. been going to a physiotherapist and so far nothing works. this injury does ruin ones life in some sense, and I've been throwing away money trying to fix it. it really sucks

  • @fjeesdanation

When you had your surgery, did the doctor see a tear in the achilles?

  • thats great, now what happens to the stitching after the tendon has healed?

  • @kiduallno im not a doctor but it wil probably disovle. I had surgery and my stiches got disolved, broken down by my own body.

  • can we get 100 porcent after the surgery?

  • @stuntsaguilera nope sadly mabye 90% but never 100

  • wow, so that's exactly what they done on me.

  • 2 weeks ago I went througt that operation...not a were pleasant experience ....it ruptured fully at vollyball training...have a boot on that fixates my foot at an angel så the tendon is not under strees....4 weeks til I loose the boot and can start rehabilitating....Keep Positiv

  • nice work

  • thats pretty insane, how long would it take to heal?

and would it feel the same

  • why all talking about his heel?

  • Hi there! I have a right leg partial Achilles tendon rupture April 26th during basketball practice doing"suicides"(run from end of the field to a line, running backwards to the beginning and to the next line and so on)

Have been in cast with foot pointing downwards and cast half way above knee-groin and knee flexed at 45º until June 8th.

Now, new cast. Flat foot walking position just below the knee until July 7th.

    After, physical therapy.

Hope all u healed good, I'm keeping positive.

    Vando

  • hi

    hope you rehabs is find

i tore my left achilles tendon 2 days ago and here in canada we keep the cast for only 10 days and every thing work perfectly

i know somthing about it because i tore de right one 1 year ago

    good luck

  • I tore but didn't completly sever my Achiles Tendon in July 2008. I had surgery in November 2008. Right after I had the staples removed, that area swelled up into a large bump. Had physical thearpy and iontophoresis to get swelling down.

  • jordan age 12

i completly severed my tenden about a mouth ago and am in a cast at the moment. Ihopefully am gettin a boot so i can get about more i spent 2 nights in hospital and got toke in to surgery the 1st mourning it has losined up a lot and the blood is flowing a lot better

  • dont do this at home? lol

  • heyy uhmm, i guess i have poroneal tendonitis as well, but i can walk perfectly. Its been almost a month now, but my ankle is still kinda fat, and plumpy, but not too much

    Is my case severe?!

  • Hi guys, well I am in the same position as many of you are...I ruptured it a month back and I am in the casket still...My surgery was done in India and I am still in India...however I want to ask questions..

    1. My casket is there but I still bend the leg a little and it does not pain me, is that ok? Can we bend our leg a little bit.

    2. My casket will be removed in next 10 days....and then I will start the therapy classes. Is this what the procedure is?

  • yea im 5 days post surgery and the occasional strikes of pain sucks but yeah im just waiting fot the tendon to heal..

over here poppin dem oxycod pillz for the pain but other than that just here resting at home. other than the sponge baths everything else seems to be cool...unlike most of the normal accidents for achilles tendon mine was cut pretty bad...but im good though..

WISH ALL OF YOU PPL A SPEEDY RECOVERY AND ME ALSO..

  • I ruptured mine on 1/9. I had surgery on Tuesday and am in a cast now. I can't believe how long this is going to take.

  • Believe it! I had surgery fifteen months ago for insertional tendinosis and now have a torn Achilles tendon so more surgery on the horizon.

  • I pray you have the stength to get through it. I am 5 days after and I am going insane!

  • My doctor told me the tendon repair won't be as bad as the first surgery but I've already cancelled it once. That said, the pain I have will determine when I have this second surgery. If you are young and active, I can understand your insanity. Actually if you're older, it's still difficult! Hang in there, do what the doctor orders and have patience.

  • I raptured my right leg just before xmas 08 playin b/ball and that ruined my holidays....I had surgery on the 6th 09 and just hoping how fast Im gonna recover...

  • I ruptured my achilles this past saturday (11/15/08)... and am scheduled for surgery later this week. Watching the video made my stomach quizzy.

Will post another comment after the procedure.

  • ok... had my surgery last Thursday (11/20/2008)... had my first post-Op checkup... they removed my "back-slab" and all looked good. The incision site was longer than expected... it was 6 to 8 inches long and had 18 staples. I was put in a full cast (vs a back-slab) and have my next check-in on 12/17. Will post again after that.

  • ok... so on 12/18 I had my cast removed and the staples were taken out. Not an overly pleasant procedure having the staples removed. During this visit was I was fitted and equipped with a removable 2 piece plastic walking cast/boot. Could not weight bare and still required crutches.

  • ok... on 01/19 was back in for my next post-op check in... at this time the surgeon recommended that I remove the walking cast/boot and start walking very gingerly.

  • ok... 01/29 the ankle and leg are starting to loosen up... it was very tight initially I am currently walking with a limp but as time goes on it seems to be getting better and better.

The ankle area is still quite swollen I had a massage last friday 01/23 which seemed to help getting the blood moving.

  • it's been about 5 weeks since i had the surgery, i only had the cast on for the first 2 weeks tho, and since then i have the boot. still cant put any pressure on it for the next couple of weeks... i cannot wait to start rehab and get rid of crutches!!! i wonder how long it will really take me to get back to running and playing sports again... everyone says it'll be 6 months at least, is it really that long?

  • Wondering the same thing man... mine got cut in a hockey game by a players skate like 5 weeks ago... i'm still in a hard cast, i get the boot on thursday... I think it really may be 6 months, fuck it, i've accepted the fact that my season is over

  • wow, u're still in a hard cast? they took mine off 2 weeks after the surgery. now it's been 7 weeks and i'm finally off the crutches. it's still tough to walk tho. the whole recovery is just taking forever... i started swimming, that helps a lot! maybe in a week or so you can start doing it too! so yours got literaly cut by a skate? that's horrible! i got kicked quite hard playing basketball... but your case is definitely worse. feel better and good luck w it!

  • Usually u r starting rehab as soon as you rem. cast.

  • I rupture mine about 18months ago. was in a cast for 6 weeks, which had to be renewed every 2 weeks, with a slight adjustment of the foot and then recaste. when the caste comes off make sure that you keep stretching the tendon, as this will help with getting back mobility. Sorry to hear bout that, and hope your recovery goes well.

  • I'm due to have surgery on 4th oct. I have torn achilles tendons in both feet. Two wks in a cast then a snow boot and 2 months of physio and when my right leg is ok i will have to have the same all over again in my left foot. It will take 6-7months in total for both achilles to be done and for me to be back on my feet. Not looking forward to it as i have a 7year old son to look after!

  • ugh thank god for animations I was getting gaggy just watching THIS a bit. I hate tendon ruptures...*shudder*

  • very interesting, I have just had this op 10days ago. All is well and wound healing. The hardest thing is getting around on crutches, now mobilising on an office chair which has heloed me be more independent. The pain was about the same as pre operation a little more pain for 3 days, now the exercises non weight bearing for 5 weeks
