Why would one want to implement Sharia? What is the advantage over modern law and democracy?

In all the countries where Sharia is in effect, there is constant threat, corruption is rampant, freedoms are restricted, women are treated not equitably, etc. In other countries, many of them are very safe, corruption is more rare, freedom is encouraged, and women are more respected. Sharia is a plan for giving theocratic governments full rights over the people.

@1ummah jzk for your comment but i dont think you have understood what shirk is. the ACTION of associating partners with allah is called shirk. so if one was to bow to an idol or to make sujood that would be shirk as the right of allah has been given to these objects likewise when one votes he is giving the right of allah of being al hakm - the legislator to man. so we can clearly see shirk is an action and this is the understanding of the salaf.

@slingman1 we as muslims only worship, follow and obey allah (swt) alone and we submit to allah (swt) where ever we may be. the right of legislation belongs only to the one who created us, man is incapable of ruling and we can see that in the failiure in democracy "Evil has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned" [30:41]
