  • Normaly I'm a fat, 40 year old. nerdy lookin dork. But when I put my Rush concert shirt on; I'm hot shit.

  • Yo. Greetings from Toledo, just saw the show last night. It was stupendously beautiful, but I wish my buds would have sung the main riff chorus-style with me, like you guys did :)

  • geddy is as busy as hell........it shows his talent!

  • What kind of camera is used for this? Sounds pristine!

  • great show.....saw them again 6 wks later in vegas 4th row center.......RUSH !!!!!!!

  • I dont mind the sing along, but man seeing them do this song live was a real treat i threw up in mouth as soon as I heard the opening synth chords even though I knew they were gunna play it

  • Rush has a knack for writing vivid cinematic songs and this one is probably their best.

  • Great concert, just a word of advice; if you're going to film it DO NOT sing along!!!!

  • come on man! theyre just havin a good time!!! dont be such a sourpuss.

  • the only thing i dont get, is that when i saw them in 2008, Snakes and Arrows tour, they played every song from moving pictures except "the Camera eye" which is disappointing. still a fantastic show with what they did play, but if your gonna play near everything, whats another 9:30?? and all these people are ruining it by either humming the music or trying to sing like geddy, seriously ruins the video times 10 shut up with the OHS!!!

  • they didnt play vital signs on the s&a tour 2008 either...so they played 5/7 moving picture songs.

  • the only thing i dont get, is that when i saw them in 2008, Snakes and Arrows tour, they played every song from moving pictures except "the Camera eye" which is disappointing. still a fantastic show with what they did play, but if your gonna play near everything, whats another 9:30?? and all these people are ruining it by either humming the music or trying to sing like geddy

  • I'm sure if you've kept up with the official Rush site you know It's been confirmed that the Cleveland show is going to be filmed...

  • According to Rush fan site "Power Windows" Rush is going to film their Cleveland show.

  • Awesome sound quality on this clip for an audience recording! I was at the LA show in August and it was incredible.

  • Roll on Spring 2011 in the UK!!

  • @gkeyuk O2! May!

  • 8:36-8:59

those are not 57 year old hands!!! Shredding like he's still 27!!

  • i cant believe this was the first date of the tour and its already over : ' (

  • Alex Lifeson killing the solo!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!

  • if they had only played this song I'd still would be happy I could afford my 300 reais ticket to watch them in rio. it was such a great show, such a great moment... just beautiful.

  • Neil's drums just sound incredible in this clip, especially the toms. They absolutely explode every time he hits them.

Love the crowd chanting along with the instrumental sections too...

  • That is one of my favorite RUSH songs!

  • Ive been waiting over 20 years for them to play that masterpiece live. Its sounds as great as I always thought it would. Great video quality for a fan-cam. Thanks so much for a great post!

  • My second favorite song on Moving Pictures. Was that recorded with a iphone?

  • that´s the music!!!

  • I'm glad I finally got to see this song played live after all these years, probably will be the last time though :(

  • please come to Phoenix, AZ!!!! I know it's hotter than hell here still, but it should cool down just in time for you to rock out like the legends that you are!

  • Fuckin' A

  • Without a doubt one of my top 5 favorite Rush songs, if for no other reason than its meaning. It's even more relevant today than it was when the lyrics were first written. More people today are concerned with winning the rat race or the life of Lindsay Lohan than even to bring themselves to consider humanity or the natural world around them. The significance of a soft spring rain, a broken heart, a bird in flight, a splash of fall color, or the first snow of winter are all lost on far too many.

  • Im going saturday!!!!

  • Saw them play it last night!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • please come to germany my friends as soon as possible

peter straub is back on your concert.

  • please come to germany my friends as soon as possible

  • 0:02 that is soo watching me O_O

lol rush are unmatchable live, i love them.

  • I saw them play this last night. My brain hurts from the shear awesome of it.

  • I saw them a few nights ago in Boston MA. my first rush concert. This was the first time ive heard this song (because all i have is "the best of" albums such as retrospectives I and II) i was blown away by this song. and now i'm listening to it from a zip download. I fucking wish i was one of the 40 year old die hard fans (although im just a 16 year old die hard) that had the chance to see them in the 80s. these guys are fucking amazing.

  • I'm seeing this is one week.

    HOLY SHIT I AM PSYCHED!!!

  • Very nice! Brings back memories. I saw that tour in Alb. 1981 @ Tingley Colesium.

  • I have 2 more weeks and this song will make me change religions im sure!!

  • Those "drunken idiots" are having fun. As Robert Prosky's character said to James Caan's in the film THIEF: "Lighten up, for Christ's sake!"

  • This song brings tears to my freakin eyes! CAMERA EYE IS RUSH'S MASTERPIECE!!

  • I gota get another Les paul...;)

  • I wish the guy holding the camera would keep it on either Alex or Geddy for longer than 30 seconds and turn to Peart when during those sick drum fills

  • Thank you! I get to see them in Da Burg on Sept 16

  • GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE... !!!

    I FUCKING LOVE IT!!!

  • oh man its so awesome at 8:50 when alex starts owning how the crowd gets so into it...

saw them at jones beach and the crowd went nuts at that part

    what a freakin amazing concert!!!!

  • I've seen Rush 27 times, and finally after 30 years I got to hear this song live in Columbus a few nights back....

    Rush's Masterpiece!!!

  • Too bad the drunken idiots in the crowd had to ruin this with the stupid chanting along with the music. Would have been a great video.

  • @mgm2112 yeah i hate that wooing and yeahing and shit. shut up cunts.

  • Anyone that finds a soundboard of this please let me know, ty uploader, nice vid!

  • absolutely my dream come true *** you can hear me yell omg I love this and fav of all time the past 30yrs as a fan <3 that is me in the beginning shouting hahaha

  • Just saw them in Chicago Monday the cat on the right video screen cracked me up

  • I wish they never put this gay song on that album.

  • @dvdfrnzwbr .....this is an awesome song which makes you stupid....and gay.

  • I will be in Columbus Ohio on Aug.29th. looking forward to hearing this song again.

  • Glad they're doing this live again. One of their best songs live or otherwise.

  • Awesome.... Seeing them in 2 weeks and I think this is the song I am most looking forward to.

  • Best songs of the night:

    #1 The Camera Eye

    #2 Presto

HAHA did you notice the sausage grinder behind geddy spittin out sausages all night?

  • Dude your arm must have got tired filming all these songs but THANK YOU!!!

saw them last week in Irvine california and this was the best moment from the show

  • their best song.

  • This concert litterally made my internal organs all vibrate. When it was over, my daughter asking me if I had gotten "my face rocked off," like she promised and I reached down and picked my face up off the floor and put it back on the front of my head and screamed YES!!!!" I was deaf which is why I screamed. I died and went to heaven on June 29, 2010.

  • @Satonica I'm so jealous at least we have video of it up on here and man just this song itself was probably the price of one ticket

    amazing!

  • @floydian1987 Amen to that brother!! And my ticket was $85 bucks cause I am special to my kids I guess and it was worth this one song!

  • That was sick!!! Thank you for posting this for guys like me that live too far away from a venue on this tour! Hands down my favorite Rush song!!

  • CALL LOCAL ROCK RADIO FM STATIONS REQUEST Rush Song CARAVAN!

  • One of my alltime fav Rush songs. Would have loved to been there live! Hope they come to Vancouver after Clockwork Angels is released. Amazing!

  • 555 O.K. little fagboy...

  • Thanks for vid! Missed the show here in town.

Moving pictures still one of the best albums of all time!

  • never been so steeped.

  • Begeezus is harps in her titties, like a saint pauli god and a sausage, fine barrell of fun you got us slipping on now my little vitlin of a scwhwizzlestick

  • Also, real Rush fans wouldnt be whoa whoain, blah blah'in, & droning out the band's music & vocals, you are only impressing yourselves

  • @jefftry

    they are enjoying themselves

don't be such an old dickhead

  • I know exactly what it is...

I just think it is extremley annoying, like idiots at a jazz concert clapping every time a musician plays more than 5 notes at a time...

  • Amazing,Rush are simple fantastic, thanks for all of your uploads they are very much appreciated.

  • This is about as awesome as awesome gets......

  • Comment removed

  • Is it my imagination, or do they have Geddy's vocals overdubbed when the high notes are sung during the lines such as "angular mass of New Yorkers"?

As I watched this video, it seems like an entirely different voice is coming in during those sections and his lips aren't exactly matching.

To me it just seems like they are playing a recorded vocal part at those times. Take a 2nd look at the video.

  • @2112Relayer It's someone(s) in the crowd singing along. Probably the same drunk schmuck who's whoaoaoaooing early on. The idiot doesn't realize that everyone else also 'paid for their ticket' and wants to let RUSH perform the song. ;-)

  • Somebody should slap those idiots whoa-whoa'in along with the guitar chorus,

  • @jefftry i guess you're not a RUSH fan or you would know what was going on with the 'whoa-whoain.' it's not local to the camera, it's venue-wide, and at every show, and will continue to its zeinith for sure in Chile & Brazil where it originated. Unfortunately North American fans, en mass, do not share the same enthusiasm & all you get is (at best) what is witnessed at this show.

  • Great Musician Forever!!

  • What a complex congruent mind these mere players must have on the grasp of geological tortoises pacing in glaciers, what oil spill 2010, it's been emulsified like today's house salad dressing at Bubba's Bar and Grill! ! so light and endless, like breadsticks!

  • CALL LOCAL ROCK FM RADIO Stations REQUEST SONG "CARAVAN"!

  • Just saw the show in Saratoga Springs, NY at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center- best venue ever, by the way :-) The show was fantastic. Listen everyone, Rush have about 19 or so albums to pick from, so what the hell do you want?!? As far as shortening the Camera Eye, the band said they did so because they thought that there was some redundant passages in the original, and they wanted to change it up. Hey, it's their song- so they can do what they want. All in all, a tremendous show.

  • NO KIDDING! They could have shortened it like the did on the signals tour or like they did with xanadu on R30 and cut out half the friggin song, but they didnt. we got 97% of the camera eye and "fans" are still complaining! you'd think they view Rush as a band that was made for them to have their way with as they please, day and night and i think its enought that they played camera eye because they knew the fans were begging for it!! they aint played it in 28 years, so clearly they dont like it!

  • Wow! OK, so everyone is entitled to their opinions, but really? There are so many complaints. Rush played this, Rush cut that, Rush didn't play what we'd hoped for. So What? So that's what they've always done, and, I thought, that's what we loved about them. After Caress of Steel, the record company wanted singles. They got 2112. Our boys do what they want and bitching won't help. Ya don't like it, don't go. I like Faithless (stupid words and all). Maybe I'm stupid too. Oh well. Rush On!

  • best song from the tour followed closely by marathon

worst , by far, faithless, the crowd took a nap, stupid lyrics. also presto, stick it out and working them angles and leave that thing along & working man should have left out replaced by kid gloves, hand over fist, grand designs, force ten, ect..... the MP part of the show flowed really well, over all a very good show when I saw them at Mohegan Sun a few days ago.

  • @fendergibs Dude faithless is a great song even if the lyrics maybe don't "apply" to you lol. Presto was one of the best of the show, if not the one.

  • @Narfcois Mr Yahoo , not all rush material is "awesome", without question faithless was the worst song of the set, and not just for neil's redundant lyrical themes. all bands have a peak period with very few exceptions most last about 5 to 10 years , rush had about 7-8 yrs between 1977-84/85. after 1990 rush put out some "ok" material but most weak compared to this time, firing T Brown MISTAKE, : faithless just sucked, many fans were quite or left to hit the can before the 2nd act began with MP.

  • @fendergibs The sound of Faithless is nice, you can't disapprove. Stick it out was worst. OK material? It's very subjective, and I think Rush after 1990 is too often underrated. Roll the Bones, Cold Fire, Driven, TFE, Earthshine and Far Cry just to name a few show incredible musicianship. And Caravan, what a sick riff! Snakes and Arrows really grows on you, I remember when I bought the album I was like you and I asked myself why I bought it. One year later, it's the complete opposite.

  • @Narfcois No doubt about the musicianship on what u mentioned, its putting it together with harmony in a song that people respond to, thats where the producer come in. How many songs after the peak era that i mentioned do fans hum along to? or wait for? ..zero. I know thats a crude way to judge songs, but it is often right. Just look how MP "flowed" live, it was unreal. The material from 90 on is It not underrated, its just not as good. 85 % of the fans were there b/c of MP era.1977-85

  • @Narfcois correct, stick it out was a poor choice, i was hoping for kid gloves, wheels, mission, analog kid, anything but.

  • @fendergibs yea but dont forget, mission had just been done on both legs of snakes and arrows along with wheels, which was also on the entire r3o tour. Im glad that they change up the list as often as they do. look at a band like kiss...more albums than they know what to do with and they never change up the setlist. rush at least gives people a diferent show every time they tour.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast yes i know, mission & wheels translate well live, I was just hoping to hear one or both on this tour. It was a dream to finally have rush tour without a full new release to support as very few rush fans go to show to hear anything produced past 1990 or so. Nothing from G/P was played.. yikes, kid gloves would have been nice & analog kid off sig. Instead we got 2 from counterparts? Yes u r right they have a lot of material, cant win. Camera eye was worth the price of adm.

  • @fendergibs yea very true, and truth be told kid gloves and analog kid were amounst my list of "I Hope they play that one!" songs. For this tour i could have done without Workin them angels, leave that thing alone and far cry in exchange for hemispheres prelude, kid gloves and by tor and the snow dog.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast good choices of songs that they should have left off......I think Kid gloves was only played on the G/p tour??? but not sure. My first show was not until HYF 87, a little late to the party as my Jr high class mates went to the Sig tour in 83 while i sat playing Zaxxon in the arcade in 8th grade. That and the G/P would have been the best......Analog Kid was played on the R30 tour & is now on Blu-ray with high def master audio, which is by far the best source to listen from.

  • HYF is my second favorite album! Youre Lucky! Lock & Key, Turn the Page and Tai Shan are songs i would kill to see live! But i think you are mistaken with analog kid being on r30. i have the blu-ray and the songs that were absent from the dvd are YYZ, Bravado, The Trees, One Little Victory, Red Sector A, La Villa Strangiato, Secret Touch and By Tor and the Snow Dog. My first Show was S&A 2007, my next was 10 months later on the 2008 Leg and my last show was in Toronto on the Time Machine Tour.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast crap u r right, it was on different stages back in 1998, which sucked in terms of production compared to R 30 or S&A live. I wish. we will have to see if Time machine tour is to be released on dvd/blu-ray. hope so. saw them on july 19 @ Mohegan sun, crappy sound job by the concert eng, too loud, but they played well.

  • @ieetemos4breakfast I never, ever want to hear Tai Shan in concert. IMO it's their worst song.

  • i would disagree. i feel their worst song is Madrigal from AFTK. I find Tai Shan is one of those songs that paints a picture in your mind. for me, i see the turning colors of leavesin approaching fall, the glorious high mountains of china, the crisp cool fresh air and down below, are all the farmers harvesting crop before the approaching winter. Not only does it paint a picture, but a beautiful one that expresses the wonders of the commonly disreguarded beauties of nature and foreign lands.

  • ***SPOILERS***:

I don't appreciate how they shortened this piece. They did it in such small, subtle ways, almost like they were trying to get it past us. I'd accept it if they were just resurrecting the piece for the sake of itself, not as part of "Moving Pictures played 'in its entirety.'"

This, the guitar solo as opposed to bass solo at the end of Witch Hunt, and the same alternate YYZ rhythm they've always played live bother me because of how the tour is billed. Still a great show, of course.

  • @FinbarFinbarFinbar The wind was blowing REALLY hard and Geddy kept getting such a dry mouth he couldn't sing and had to keep sipping water so cut them some slack.

  • Truly epic!

  • It is so loud in there you can't hear yourself. Thanks for posting, I can't wait them to come to Connecticut next week.

  • Wow, really great. The all time classic.

  • for the Rush fans !

    /watch?v=K2JQoWB9PHs

  • Actually on topic: I'm really going to enjoy The Camera Eye this tour, but I wish they could've played another album in it's entirety. Like perhaps all of Permanent Waves, or Signals, or Power Windows. The material on Moving Pictures is way to overplayed and underwhelming compared to the aforementioned albums. Sure, Spirit of Radio and Freewill are on this tour, but they have a tremendous amount of power, more so than any MP song; aside from this of course.

  • @narutozrasengan dude. Permanent waves MAYBE. Signals or Power windows hell no, not a fan of their synth stuff. If they played all of hemispheres I would jizz. it's my favorite album. all 4 songs ROCK so hard.

  • @ericplayzbass2 Yeah, I never thought of Hemispheres, that or Permanent Waves would be amazing. Hemispheres would never happen only because of the strain on Geddy's voice, and I doubt he could an entire summer tour of doing all 18 minutes of Hemispheres, let alone Circumstances and the Trees on top of that.

  • @narutozrasengan yea i know, circumstances is a beast. there's no way he could do that.

but it would be so great :(

he can barely do the temples of syrinx.

  • @ericplayzbass2 I wouldn't say "barely" do Temples, but I get your point. Didn't he do a lower key version of Circumstances on the R30 tour? That version was pretty good, definitely not to the level on Hemispheres, but still really good. I think the dreams of songs like Cygnus X-1 and Bytor and the Snowdog etc. are over, they're just way too high for him. :(

He deserves credit for what he does, I mean Cygnus is SO high, that any live version seemed tough for him even when the song came out :(

  • @narutozrasengan well he did do bytor on the r30 tour...i dont think that one is too high yet...most of bytor is done without vocals anyways so i think that one is always going to be possible...however, stuff like bastille day, anthem, (like you said, cygnus, at least the vocal bits) farewell to kings(song not album), those ones are no good anymore for geddy. By tor id say still has life in it. so long as he can sing the high bits of freewill, there will be room for bytor and the snow dog : >)

  • god, damn.. let geddy sing it people please.... thats what your paying 200 $ a ticket...for.

  • my feet will catch the pulse and purposeful stride on my way to tampa oct.1

  • Take away prest add countdown . and Take away 2112 and do hemispheres

  • Deke76 mentions below a concert on Oct1st. I went to the "Rush" homepage, pulled up the tour schedule, and there's hardly any dates. It seemed like there was about 20 shows. Lots in Canada, LA, Chicago, etc. I live in NYC, and the closest one would be Wantagh/Nassau which is 2 hours away. I'll go, but would much rather catch them at the Garden or somewhere else. Any touring date info I'm missing?

  • @cjf799 I agree. hemispheres is better.

  • Geddys foice sounds better when they do these songs versus the snakes and arrows tour!!! :) Wish I could see them but I ive in a little town in mid Oregon and their closest concert is seattle :( CRAP!!! NEVER BEEN TO A RUSH CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They nailed it.

  • I have been waiting 25 years to hear this song live, and I will get to on October 1st. Can't wait!

  • This is very cool!!!! Can't wait until they're at Red Rocks!!!

LOL!!! The eyes on Neil's stage are creepy LOL!!!! Love the stage set up!!!!

  • Alex said, in a recent interview "our fans have been begging us to play Camera Eye again for a long time".

Yep. I was one of them.

This was their last long song,

    And, I think, their best.

  • @2333jim Well, what Alex didn't say is that there are thousands of emails from old fans and I've been one of them begging Alex, Neil and Geddy to play Hemispheres the whole 19 minute song and many other famous hidden ones from their past and magnificent repertoir ...

  • Aside from the obvious classics from "Moving Pictures" this and Vital signs would have to be two of my favorites...

  • I must learn the lyrics to this song before I go!

  • The Dead Collector: Bring out yer dead.

[a man puts a body on the cart]

Large Man with Dead Body: Here's one.

The Dead Collector: That'll be ninepence.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.

The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.

Large Man with Dead Body: Yes he is.

The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not.

  • I'm glad they brought this one back, it's a beautiful song, but, don't ask me why, I'd love to see them play Hemispheres the whole book and in the middle of it half of the Necromancer, followed by Tears, then Something for Nothing, Available Light, Alien Shore, Dog Years, Bravest Face, Jacob's Ladder, Analog Kid, Lock & Key, Vapor Trail, Neurotica, Fly by Night, Need some Love, Cinderella Man, Middletown Dreams, Afterimage, Body Electric, Red Lenses ( Solo ), that would be a Time Machine, DREAM

  • @trevizons I'd LOVE to hear Alien Shore live.

  • @PJB1775 Hey PJB, and I'd love to hear Hemispheres the whole 19 minute song !

  • @trevizons If it means anything to you, I have a recording of the ENTIRE Hemispheres song from a 1978 show, all 19 minutes. The audio is pretty much flawless, in fact, I think it's a soundboard recording, and it's awesome. I'll post it up very soon for you.

  • @trevizons Hey, better yet, I uploaded it, go get it. megaupload. com/?d=J1FQ8VT3 I have the entire concert if you want it, also. If you could, leave me some feedback, and tell me what you think.

  • @PJB1775 Hey PJB thanks a lot man ! I do appreciate it, but I'm still wishing my heroes could change the list of songs they're gonna play cause I already bought some tickets for the september shows in SAT, I mean, wouldn't that be a treat for old fans like ourselves, thanks once again and CHEERS !

  • @PJB1775 For reference, if anyone is trying to download this, make sure you take out the space between megaupload, and com. For some reason, youtube gives an error if you try to post the link normally. Rock on, dudes!

  • Amazing as always, UNIQUE!!!!!

  • ALEX LIFESON, GEDDY LEE, NIEL PEART. THE RULERS OF ROCK MUSIC.

  • Hey - that looks like the lamp from "Christmas Story" at about the 0:29 mark. LOL. Hysterical.

  • @dtpoet thats because it is!!! oure right that is hysterical!!!

  • Comment removed

  • They sound great live. You will have a chance yet! I've seen every tour since Power Windows; and some tours, twice same tour different cities. I intent to see them again West Palm Beach. That will be fun!

  • Well, I haven´t seen them live...It´s major disappoinment in my life. ..Unfortunately, they cancelled, two years ago, the latin- american leg of the Snakes and Arrows tour...So, rethinking Geddy´s actual sound, it seems to me that is not about the brand of his actual bass. It`s about his actual playing style, the lack of an amp system and the equalization. I honestly think that you can hear what I mean, clearly, in VT...

  • Oh! Geddy's sound is thinner than ever... Miss the old times of Rkbk and the fidelity of the steinberger used in GUP and PW...

  • @furto1981 sure, in this video, the sound is not like LIVE

Question, have you seen them Live?

  • @furto1981 Thinner? hardly

  • Okay, who the fuck disliked this??

  • Very cool! I saw them on the Moving Pictures tour. :)

(Also, Power Windows, Test For Echo and Vapor Trails tours)

The last date of the tour is down here in FLA. I must go!

  • it's a rush thing...

  • I thought singing guitar riffs was a brazilian thing.

  • Weird, this is the first time they've played it live and it was released almost 30 years ago. They sound incredible!

  • @mrmdcny

They played it on the MP and Signals tour.

  • Awesome! Fan since 77 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What did you use to record this?

  • what a highlight

  • Kay, I SHOULD feel a little guilty watching this since I'm gonna see them play it in Chicago on July 5th, however this IS the first time "Camera Eye" has been played since 1983 so I should sit and appreciate a big moment like this caught on film, right?

  • ok now everyone be nice!!! do you realize how FUKIN EPIC thie video is?????camera eye played live??....been awhile....i was at this show and they jammed like in was 1983....will see them again in Vegas with my brother,,,who i took to his first rush concert in 83 boston garden.... he was 13 yrs old....my twin 13 yr boys were at this show...their first rush concert......time stands still !!!

  • the cd/dvd for this tour is gonna be awesome

  • man they're sounding good!

  • LOL...Rush dont need any money... They just truly enjoy being out on the road they are not trying to the worlds favorite band.. they dont give a shit about the R&R hall of Fame..these guys are just pure musicians who happen to best friends and they get a "RUSH" out of playing Live... Im not stating opinion here..these statement are fact

  • perfect!

  • Can't wait till they hit the Philly area in a couple weeks. We'll be rockin !!!
