  • What was it that his friend did that was goofy in Vegas?

  • Oh and that be good for goodness sake...I love that. You don't have to believe in God to be a good person.

And believing in God doesn't make you a good person, either!

  • good is a subjective term

  • NO ONE should be afraid to say they are CHRISTIAN

NO ONE should be afraid to say they are an ATHEIST.

It's 2009. We all need to get along and just deal! Above all were human. No 2 are alike not even twins.

I may not be your typical Xain. I live my life as you be good to me I'll be good to you. While I love hearing other peoples thoughts on this subject...it doesn't sway me one way or the other. I WILL NOT preach to you and try and cram my belief on you.

Oh and I subbed to you!

  • But you SHOULD be afraid to admit you're a Night Ranger fan.

  • I think alot of people don't even think about god. They don't consider themselves aethists or believers.

  • plz plz plz sing Pen ,....... u do so many other things its one of the things u havent done , maybe u could right a piece for teller to play . i think it would be great , keep up the great work and dont ever change you!

  • athieism is as illogical as all religions. you can't prove that there is a higher power, and yet you can't disprove it either. sure, I root for the 'no God' side, but mainly, I just take all concerns with religion out of my life. who cares?

  • I have the same thing as you. I don't want to be classified as any label on belief whatsoever but people always try to challenge that by calling me agnostic or atheist. It happened so frequently it got to the point where I've labelled myself as an atheist just to avoid the argument. I guess technically I am though, despite the fact I hate the label it brings.

  • you crackpot agnostic.

The reality is that agnosticism does not apply to spiritual conjectures because you can not establish ambiguity in any conjectural notion with evidence to support an underlying condition. In conjectural situations regarding object X, without evidence to support X's possible existence, the only valid default is that X does not exist.

Agnosticism simply doesn't apply in any theistic debate.

  • i see your point, it does make sense. Still, I feel that you can't definitively rule out the possibility. I personally do not believe in such nonsense as God, but I do know with absolute certainty, that I do not know everything about this world, and none of us can say that we do. You can't know that God exists, you can't know that he doesn't. You can either trust your gut feeling, or you can take religion out of your life. I'd take the latter every time.

  • I can most definitely rule out the existence of the judeo-christian god as I dismiss all other gods from that time period: as the man-made myths used to define and anthropomorphize the universe prior to the utilization of science.

Also, there is nothing in what is known about the universe to suggest any conscious decision was required or used in its establishment. Assuming a possible existence of a G/god regardless of this reality isn't honesty, but placation to nonsense.

  • very well put.

  • exactly. I cant agree with athists because idk how they are so definitive. And as far as christians go, Why through jesus? why the worship period? why not just find out when we die, judge us on somthing like idk, how we lived.

  • I agree, to a point. Can I prove there isn't a God? Well, no. But I have a lot more evidence that there isn't a God, than believers have that there is one. For example; if there is a God may he strike me down this very moment! Hmm...nothing happened.

To that very point, I believe that the burden of proof is on the shoulders of the believers. I don't see God, I don't hear God...therefore, he doesn't exist. So...show me. If there was a god, he'd reveal himself.

  • thats why i can't call my self atheist. I'm more agnostic. If there is a god, who cares? He's forsaken all of us, so fuck him. Its like pointing to a mountain and saying "hey look, a mountain". And...??? No consequence to me.

If there isn't a god, big fuckin' surprise. And still, no consequence to me.

  • God gets the train.

  • God is under the train.

  • Yeah! at least the train exists, even if it's always late. I get the bus anyway.

  • I liked the message on the buses in London saying "NIce people take drugs" I think they had to be pulled.

  • atheism the new religion soon they'll have people going door to door try to convert people to their religion just like the jehovah witnesses its getting old i dont care to be converted i dont care to convert others i just like many many other people just want to be left alone i mean like i dont mind answering a question when asked or having someone answer the questions i ask but im not gonna shove my beliefs down someone elses throat or vice versa

  • you completely missed the point, atheism is anti-theism, therefore, is inherently not religion, besides, why go out of my way to try and convert someone to atheism? im not the one looking for my 77 virgins, or a place in heaven, if your imaginary friend is named god, what the hell do i care?

  • there are atheist who take their beliefs to a fanatical level they completely and faithfully believe with no prof that there is no god or being of any kind higher than themselves and as a result believe they are on a higher moral ground than those who dont share their beliefs and that it is their job to enlighten the people around them and if they fail to convert people well its because those people are morally bankrupt and or stupid inbred hicks. that is a fanatical religion in my eyes

  • To not accept something is the default position therefore there is not a need for evidence against something before a person can merely not accept that claim. People do not believe in Unicorns despite the fact that there is no proof there are no unicorns, being magical they may very well be as intangible as the gods. They also may exist without any way of knowing one way or the other. Being good for the sake of goodness alone is a higher moral position than being good out of fear.

  • Children are good when their parents are watching and are good so long as they expect to be caught. Following the rules or laws even when you expect you could get away with violating them is true morals. Atheist have no fear of gods and all seeing powers, yet are moral. Theist often exclaim "your going to hell!" as a fear tactic. This shows low tier morals. The main reason to follow gods rules, daddy is watching... child level thinking.

  • your whole theory goes out the window when you have to take into account that not all religions have a hell theory in them there fore there is no need to worry about what daddy or god is gonna do to you

  • True but both England and America have as their primary religion, xtianity. And in xtianity there is a hell. These billboards were placed in countries with a lot of xtians!

  • Actually atheism is not anti-theism, it is a-theism. That is, 'without'-theism. To be a- something is to lack it or be without it. To be anti- something is to be against it, or oppose it.

    A-theist /= Anti-theist.

A fine distinction, but an important one.

  • Yeah they are not going to be knocking on doors, it is no where near a religion.

It is higher then that, much higher.

    It is sanity.

  • I'm kinda interested. Penn, do you celebrate christmas? Becasue if you do then ur seriously fucked up.

  • Mankind has spawned some fantastic ideas, bubble gum, velcro, hot pants... and Christmas. See, I, personally, believe it's a beautiful sentiment... to celebrate creation by giving gifts to one another. The spirit of generosity, of "good will to all mankind" is truly a beautiful and profound message. This is good, and this is worth busting my Visa once a year for. And that's one Aethiest's opinion.

  • Atheist since the age of 16.

I'm a street walkin cheetah with a heart full of napalm. Gimme danger!

  • seriously, you can't believe in god and call yourself a grown-up

  • your something in the air is the spirit of anti christ on the rise. If you think theres no God

  • No one knows what the "spirit of the Anti-Christ" is. It's a made up saying to scare people.

  • I am not an atheist or religiouse, but I do believe in God, but my God lives inside of me, and is not defined by anyone elses view points and opinions, and iI could care less if youre worship the devil, are a wiccan, agnostic, or pagan. It doesn't matter what you belive, if youre a dick to the rest of the world, so keep up the good work penn. and if anyone is offended by what you say, all that says is that some of what you say must ring true, otherwise why would they care.

  • That is a really good point man. I am Athiest. All I did to become Athiest is pick up a bible. God. Not to be mean, but that is shit. The bible is just too far out there. The god being inside of you part, that should be true. God isn't a symbol or an overlord of any sort. God is just the power people have and what is inside the people. I don't call it god, but you may. I call it will.

  • That would make you Pantheistic Agnostic. Although I don't have the same belief, it's a very respectable faith as far as religion goes, so kudos on that!

  • Geeeeees he's as bad as the zealots selling their bill of goods, he's just an atheist zealot...why do people feel the need for others to believe what they believe. All these videos are basically the message over and over again,no point, nothing funny, to coin his own phrase " Bull Shit " I expected better from you Penn. though I can see you were having a bad hair day!

  • why push your atheism on others? your just as bad as the bible preachers.

  • Because we know how many atheists have killed in the name of, "there is no god." Yea, just as bad no doubt. Also, start at 2:45 and listen what he says right there. There's a difference between preaching and supporting.

  • He's not "pushing" it on people. He doesn't go to your front door at 6am and tell you you're wrong. He's simply stating whats on his mind, it's called free speech.

  • I love that song man!!!

The revolutions here! AND YOU KNOW THAT ITS TIME!

  • im not an athiest but Penn is a living example that not all athiests are bad people. "be good for goodness sakes". why cant we all live by that motto?

  • Speaking as an athiest I say thank you for saying that.

  • your welcome. im actually Jewish, and there are good and bad people throughout all religions. its all about what a persons personality is, not what religion they celebrate. i know plenty of people who celebrate Atheism and Agnosticism that are warm hearted and enlightening, and ive met plenty of Jews and Christians (or people who claim thats what they are) that are biased, stubborn, and hateful. like Stephen King said in the prologue of The Green Mile, "just be good to eachother."

  • Mr Penn I think You need some good bible scripture to set you right and i found just the piece of scripture

Ezekiel 23:20 (New International Version) There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

  • cogar48 wrote:

"you are without a doubt a homo"

Would that be the Latin or the Greek version of Homo? I mean, you're a Sapiens of some sort, aren't you?

    No, wait, Sapiens means wise!

    What was I thinking?!

    ;-)

    Serpent

  • You deserve a Darwin award.

  • A Darwin award???

    What did Darwin say???

Ohh I forgot, "The only truth is that we don't know what the truth is regardless of what the Bible, or what intelligent Scientists have to say".

So you think maybe evolution is a lie??

    HHHMmmm, interesting veiwpoint.

But i've a suggestion, spend a little time finding out what explanations poeple are coming up with, Science does know quite a bit.

  • An athiest does not have any ideas they just dont belive in god. And u are a Athiest if u dont blelive in god.

  • If there is no God, can the Palestinians have their land back?

  • A lot of us think they should...

  • I imagine that "probably is no god" is easier than "there is no god". Even though atheists are positive there is no god, saying that to a religious person is just going to snap their mind shut instantly, you're completely rejecting their beliefs. Sure, it's what they do to us, the "heathens", but maybe using lighter language, a "maybe" or a "probably" will let the religious relax a little bit, maybe they get to feel a little less alienated by the skeptics.

    I dunno. It's complicated.

  • The main problem is, for me at least, that I am agnostic in regards to a God, but a complete atheist in regard to a specific God of a specific religion. When we are talking about a first cause of universe, I am ready to discuss God. But when you start telling me about the virgin birth, talking snakes, 72 virgins and gruesome death if you tie a knot on the wrong day, I shut my brain indeed...

  • I don't actually know any atheists who claim to "know" that there is no god, in a sense of true academic certainty (as it is irrational to state absolute knowledge of something that is not knowable) and I know many, many atheists. Even Dawkins, atheist posterboy that he is, states as much in The God Delusion. But the "knowing" here is tantamount to "knowing" that faeries don't exist, or that Sagan's dragon in the garage doesn't exist. Sure, you don't *know*, but you still *don't believe*.

  • "I don't actually know any atheists who claim to "know" that there is no god, in a sense of true academic certainty " - That's why the Atheist-bus message is, "There's Probably No God." - Even if there is a god, it's up to theists to prove it.

  • Right. I was responding to other comments here that define atheism as, without exception, an affirmative statement of "I know that gods do not exist."

  • I'm torn on my religious beliefs, but I'm fine with seeing billboards like that. What I DON'T think is right, is that fact that alot (not all) of the christian funded billboards have guilt trip/fear-inducing messages like "Jesus is coming to judge earth again, where will you go?" and shit. Things like that push me farther and farther away from those religions.

  • Haven't reviewed all of the below... But I don't think anyone has respectfully pointed out that the DC Bus adds were funded by the Humanist Movement, not the Atheist Movement. As a humanist, I'm very glad that we share similar beliefs, but the humanist movement deserves some recognition as an alternate or addition to Atheism. Also... You and Teller rock.

  • @jambo310

I don't know about where you live, but there are billboards here with signs that say "How about stopping by my house before the game on sunday? -God."

That's like the pot calling the kettle a hypocrite, at least from this vantage point.

  • Penn, I've been a long-time fan. I had no idea you were so sentimental. Keep up the good work.

  • DAMNIT. I wish I would have saw that in DC, since I am from there....

  • Expressing your belief is not forcing it on others, idiot.

  • good info. thumbs up

  • Im a 36 yr old male and a life long atheist. Its just great to see others out there. I'm sick of being the silent minority in this country. Now is the time we need to come together as one large voice and say enough is enough. Down with the God Hypothesis ! Up with Science and Logic ! Sheep of the religious flock, I welcome you to the information age.

  • Hmm if you support this as an atheist you have to ask yourself would you be ok with it if the Catholic Church put up signs saying "there is a God, go to church" and I am willing to be you would not which make you a hypocrite.

  • is gonna be groovy?

    oh gosh..i cant wait..

    happy birthday

  • I wouldn't call myself atheist, but when encountering fundamentalists, etc. with their mindsets and reasoning, I find myself really rooting for and identifying with the atheists in arguments. I love the "be good for goodness sake" slogan.

  • but it says sony pictures

  • Religion is like tripe, it's not for everyone, and in fact most people wouldn't want anything to do with it once they looked up what it really was about. You can also use Hotdogs in this example, religion is like going to a baseball game and you ignore that it's boring as shit and fill the time by eating pig anus and cartilage and don't worry about it, but then you get ass cancer and you start looking at the shit you eat and suddenly baseball is boring and hotdogs are disgusting.

  • no Easter Bunny?!??! FUCKING HERETIC!!! THE EASTER BUNNY DIED FOR YOU, U UNGRATEFUL BASTARD, YOU ARE WASHED IN HIS RABBIT BLOOD!!! REPENT !

  • Had some missionaries come to my door just a few minutes ago, and I told them that more people have died because of god than any other reason.

  • The hilarious thing about a lot of atheists is, that they actually think that they're right.

Which ultimately forces them to miss the value of atheism, namely, the absence of dogma.

  • Why are people like Penn so against religion. Love your neighbor as you love yourself - why is that a bad message?

  • The problem is that an invisible man in the sky said it.

  • Why is that bad? Read Atlas Shrugged.

  • I'll bet that ain't exactly the part he has a problem with. Ya might want to give that some thought... or not.

  • I am the black sheep where I'm from every one is an extremist Christian I am the only one in my entire family that doesn't believe in Christianity or fairytales.Religion is an invention of humans to explain the world around them in the absence of science there is clearly no validity to any religions I mean think about it; every culture that has ever existed has had a religion that they believed to be the only correct religion that alone should make you question your beliefs and think. OR NOT X_X

  • I love Penn. He's funny. and he actually went to High School with my dad in Greenfield Mass.

  • What;s in the air is that Iran (Persia) is gearing up to attack Israel w Russia's (Magog) and others' help. Our economic situation and our new closet Muslim president may not allow US to defend her, which will make it more possible. This attack is prophesied by the God this man says doesn't exist. Israel's existence is a fulfilled prophesy in itself. This is what's in the air and Atheists are coming out breath it in.

  • There likely is no God, but it is good for Man, men and Nation to believe in Him. Honest Injun.

  • Well it's his opinion, but I think I'll keep my own. And isn't that what getting along is all about?

Can't listen to the Thunderclap, I don't like that kind of music.

  • ugh. deeply unpleasant.

  • All hail athiesmo the god of logic and pompus assholes who believe that they are better by not believing in something, while at the same time acknowledging its existance. Agnostics got it right they possible existance of some diety but unsure of which, if any, to be the "one true master" Why cant we coexist without basing all assumption on a person by their beliefs. We cant all be right but we cant all be wrong either.

  • learn to read before you attempt to grapple with the dictionary there, sailor.

  • The way you said that makes me believe you think that there is one true religion or at least belief system. "We cant all be wrong". Actually you can be. First assume there's no Thor. Now assume there's no Quetzalcoatl. Now assume there's no Judeo-Christian god. Good. There is nothing. The fact that Penn belongs to an outspoken subset of atheists doesn't mean the whole idea is wrong. And anyway he never said he couldn't coexist.

  • Base your life on lyrics.SMART?! Hey, if it rhymes it must be enlightened. What a joke! Penn is a quack and a fat nerd that got picked on too much as a kid, so now he hates God and anyone who believes in a higher power. Why would anyone want to live life with so much hate?

  • He didn't even say that, he even went further to say that he didn't agree with the lyrics of violence or that the sound identified with the situation, not the lyrics. Do you just completely lack listening skills of any kind?

  • Penn rules! And all religion is human made fiction for weak minded, easliy led people! Much like Scientology is!

  • Only a fool says in his heart there is no God...

  • au contraire!

  • well said.

"for i am the alpha and the omega; what was, what is, and what is yet to come."

  • on the contrary, I think saying "there's probably no god" is just like saying "there's probably a god". just something that you say, a bunch of people will agree, a bunch of people will disagree (don't tell my it wouldn't piss you off to see jesus in the side of a bus).

on the other hand, who the fuck is "afraid" to say they're an atheist? that's pretty fucked up. I never felt like that (and I'm in a country were the government pays the salary of the priests). So maybe it is necessary.

  • Christianity:

The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree

  • That's great news! I can't believe I just heard about this.

  • They acctually just put up a billboard advertisment for the Low Country Humanist in North Carolina I think, anyway, it says "Don't believe in God? You are not alone."

  • Cackle is difficult to navigate and runs slow (for me, anyway). Glad to be able to catch these on YouTube now.

  • This guy was kicked from the Playboy mansion because he was weirding chics out.

  • If there really is no God then the existential reality would be that there would be no instinctive need to disprove it , or talk about it. Penn has an unbalanced focus on this ,therefore. I know for a fact Barney Rubble is not real , but I have absolutely no need to spend time or effort to prove to everyone he is.

  • Maybe if people didn't kill each other over their belief in god, and the belief in god didn't affect the decisions of those in charge of this country, maybe then he wouldn't feel a need to disprove the existense of a god.

  • Thank you! Finally someone gets it. If Penn believes there is no god, why does he uses so chances to mention almost anything pertaining to a god? He's like a Christian in serious denial.

  • Relax, Penn. There probably is no Sony, now stop worrying and quote what you want.

    See? Call out the instigators

Because there's something in the air

We've got to get together sooner or later

Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right

And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together

We have got to get it together now

    Hooray for fair use.

  • You make me ill!

You are a waste of oxygen-you and bill maher are the 2 greatest wastes of life ever!

  • I say you guys are both a shame to america snd our roots!

    You guys sicken me!

  • Our roots? America's roots are based in people's right to believe, or not believe, in whatever they want. America was meant to be a secular country.

  • One who seeks a healthy reality, allows that hope leads the spirit, trust leads the heart, reason leads the mind, action leads the body while evidence draws the being...

  • in girl next door that guy was actually running down the street naked to in the air.

  • Seriously? Come on now. I don't care if you don't believe in god. But why go to the extent of putting up a billboard. You really have to be a jack ass to put up a bill board saying something about god not existing. Wow really people? It's a free country right? I just don't like people bringing religion into every ones daily lives. And that goes for Christians Atheist Catholics every one of them. Lol just don't do crap like this. :D

    Robdoggierob

  • Atheism is not a religion. Don't equate your nonsense with reason.

  • Dude I never said it was I only used it in the same sentence as a religion. But ok put words in my mouth. That works too. :)

  • Damn seriously. I am done posting any kind of comments on any thing that has to do with politics and or religion. I didn't even mean any offense in what I said and 10 mins later I get a dude who just wants to create conflict replying to my message. Sry you don't agree with me. Damn dude seriously.

  • I completely agree. I simply laid low during the election and just voted, but I honestly get annoyed with people going on and on talking about religion (i'm a atheist but even Penn annoys me with his obsession with god) and politics when everyone is so divided on it and won't come to an agreement, even to disagree.

  • Seriously for an atheist Penn talks about god more than Christians and Muslims do. If he believes that there isn't a god, then move on. Go to another topic. He must want to believe if he go on and on about the same subject of which he believe, in fact, there is no god therefore would be no subject to actually talk about. Basically he talking about nothing.

  • Lol I like your point of view :)

  • You are a complete retard. I don't even know where to start. Let's see. When you have an intelligent point of view then you kind of want to share it with people, so they can kind of not be so stupid. And atheists try to convince people of there being no god. We do not go around talking about the nonexistent god.

  • Let me simplify this since you'll likely resort to insults as it is your only weapon. Look at all his videos, all his years known, he has been spewing the same crap over and over again. Next, regardless of what idiots like you say, people will come to grips with their beliefs ON THEIR OWN. If anyone becomes an atheist b/c of an idiot like you they need to be shot. Your beliefs should be personal. And like I said, Penn talks about this crap like it's a religion. Sorry, I don't worship him like U.

  • so if a person becomes an atheist it must happen completely by his own free will (agreed) but children are indoctrinated in religion by their parents before even they start going to school and that is fine with you?

  • Well, is that not the same as me, an atheist, teaching my kids that there is no god? Kids will grow up to believe what you want them to believe however they could rebel and form their own beliefs that may be contrary to yours. I was indoctrinated as a Christian but the more educated I got the more I realized religion is a fantasy. Can't stop kids from believing what they will believe. And thanks being an adult and not insulting me like the idiot before. You're truly an intelligent person.

  • well that only leaves the choice of teaching a kid to think for himself.

  • of course! as much as i wouldn't want my kid worshiping someone people say they saw on a toilet seat ("it looks like Mary!"), that is the only option for us.

  • And next, who are we? Who included you? I said Penn is basically talking about nothing. I said nothing about going around talking crap. Learn to read better. His belief in no god is established, NOT YOU, HIM, so let HIM move on. And stop including YOURSELF in what you don't understand.

  • You said that Penn talks about God to much. And I tried to explain why atheists usually discuss God. And "Who included you?". Well, I have one thing to say to that. Who included you?

  • I didn't intend to be included. I stated my opinion then here you come like a drunkard in a professor's suit spewing how atheists try to convince others..and how Penn wants to share. You did not at all explain why atheist discuss god. Perhaps, if you had the skills to debate then you'd gotten your point off more precisely. What I said was that we know he is an atheist. He isn't try to convince anyone of anything. He is showing you his observations, opinions etc.. Learn the difference.

  • Oh yeah. Notice how in my first reply I said that atheists try to convince people that there is no God. Holy shit!! I didn't say anything about Penn in the comment. And what I meant was that Atheists talk about God, but in a way saying that there is no god. It's hard to say that there is no God without saying God once. And even harder when you are talking about the Jeudaio-Christian God. I didn't say anything about what Penn is trying to say. I simply stated why ATHEISTS in general talk aboutGod

  • "You are a complete retard. I don't even know where to start. Let's see. When you have an intelligent point of view then you kind of want to share it with people, so they can kind of not be so stupid." You said this. The intelligent perspective you referred to of which to share was Penn therefore you were talking about PENN. Wow, dude. please read AND comprehend.

  • I was talking about anyone who thinks they have an intelligent point of view. I wasn't talking specifically about Penn although I can see how you thought I was talking about Penn. And sorry about that whole retard thing. That's usually my first thought when I disagree with someone. Not to be taken literally. I always type that in, read the comment, and feel like an ass.

  • Well, that's okay.

  • And as to why atheist talk about no god - it's not like you're right, anyway. Let people believe what they want. You're not right or wrong nor are they so your argument again is confusing, if not pointless because no one know if there is a god or not. You can say you know there isn't one, but then again, that's a belief. Not a fact. Thus it is why Penn keep going on and on about it is b/c he is unsure of himself also and has to reassure himself of that belief.

  • reminds me of the old snapple commercials, remember: you could only see the snapple lady's head, and sometimes her hands waving around

  • IM NOT AFRAID!!! THERE IS NO GOD!!

  • The "feeling" "seems" so important?

    Nothing ambiguous there.

Don't worry, it "probably" doesn't exist Penn Emotional candy ass.

What's up with the "feeling" shit?

Now people go from Gods to worshiping feelings and songs? lol

  • I think the one way that Atheists are as bad as born again Christians is their confidence that their beliefs are totally unquestionable. And in some cases, their zeal. Like the guy who put a "there's no god" poster in front of a Christmas tree at Macy's or somewhere.

  • there in the difference between an athiest and an agnostic. and what you just described would be exactly that. But you gotta applaud penn for his enthusiasm.

  • "But you gotta applaud penn for his enthusiasm."

Yeah, reminds me of a bible thumper at a revival.

Let's all rejoice in song now! lol

  • Even if you do believe in god dont worship him if hes a forgiving god just live your life without the church bullshit and fear and have fun.

  • It takes lots of faith to believe that everything just poffed into existence. people that believe dont go out and spend money on billboards that say atheist are going to hell so atheist should not spend money on billboards that say there is no God ,unless they are just asssholes for example anyone who condones this behavior. One final question how did we get here most would just say big bang but what caused that and so on

Newtons laws Objects at rest remain so unless acted upon

  • You posted this video on my birthday. Thank you.

  • Oh and BTW, gravity does not exist, jsut like the easter Bunny

  • What I'm about to write inevitably triggers a circular argument, yet I know it to be true. That being: God exists. Religion however is generally drivel, nonsense, twaddle. Oh yeah, and there is an afterlife and we do reincarnate and it's okay to be gay.

  • I agree with you 99.999999999999999999999%! One thing though; there is probably more than one god. But, also, you never know; maybe what you're saying is wrong, and it's just hopeful thinking

    -Agnostic :)

  • One small correction. The quote segment is "just be good for goodness' sake". Notice the apostrophe after goodness. small difference in pronunciation, but a large difference in meaning IMO.

  • An atheist message in Vegas? Probably in high demand.

  • how is he washed up? He was just signed to an extension on his Rio (?) contract in Vegas, has a theater there named after him, and has just started on the 7th season of his own TV series.

I'd assume that you were Christian, but I'm sure I'd be wrong. With your judgmental language and envious tone you certainly aren't acting Christ-like.

  • does anyone know why he paints his nail on the ring finger? just curious

  • "there is no god"

"Oh yeah I forgot no church for me then"

  • Another song that kind of holds that same sentiment is "Wind of Change" by the Scorpions.

I think President Obama including "non-believers" in his inauguration speech is another sign that times are changing.

  • When I heard that, I was like woah, did he just..

  • I can't help but think an Athiest message in Vegas of all places would be overly effective.

    Now Rome... that'd be funny.

  • Call out the instiGAtors....

  • sow twoo...

  • sony sucks!!!!

(i want to see if you delete this just for shits and giggles)

It's a davinci code. see if you can crack it. hey, what if there was a kandinsky code? that would rock!

  • Good times!

Reasonable people were able to enlighten ignorant people about their beliefs in witches and its overdue that that they be enlightened about their beliefs in gods and sky fairies and angels.

Knowledge is becoming widespread thanks to the noble efforts of people like Penn and Dawkins.

Lets all take part in improving humanity.

  • great magician, but what a gasbag!

  • Think about this also in your point of view, "if there is a devil". Wouldn't you think that this would be the best plan he ever thought of. To make people not believe in God. I swear, atheist people are a bunch of sheep. Kinda pisses me off over the stupidity. But there are just two comments I wanted to leave. Have a good one : ).

  • If there is a Devil, wouldn't you think that his best plan he ever thought of was convincing people he was God? Let's face it, not believing is one thing, but actively promoting him and following his beliefs, that would be a real kicker.

  • The devil was just made up in order to explain why we have an imperfect world with bad things in it when the god that created it is supposed to be good and perfect.

  • The idea of "evil" or "imperfection" borrows from a theistic worldview...you know.

  • You people don't know sh*t. I like to listen to this guy of some topics he discusses. I will never tell what a person should believe or not. I believe in God and always will, I have to it's just what I feel. Just for a thought if people that don't want to believe in God, believe in this atheist dream. I say this, if your wrong and there is a God. What will you do, say your sorry. lol, funny how people take this whole free will thing for granted. I don't care really, do what you want.

  • What if you're following the wrong god? What if your god is really the satan of some other religion? "Listen to me, which I programmed you to have difficulty with, or burn for eternity" is free will? Are you a true christian if you tell us to "do what we want" (love thy neighbor but let him go to hell)? I don't go around knocking peoples' faith but if you're going to call atheists sheep at least know what the hell you believe in.

  • what if there is a god and the only way to make the correct propitiation is to have the courage to reject him. You're appealing to Pascal's Wager. So, what if you chose the wrong god? You may escape a christian hell and wind up in a muslim one. In any event, IF (and that's a a BIG IF) there is a hell, I'll probably be there right along side you.

  • Penn, the exact phrase of the ad is "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake." along with an image of Santa Claus shrugging his shoulders. It was sponsored by the American Humanist Association, FreeThoughtAction, and the Washington Area Secular Humanists.

It debuted in the Wasington Post and the NY Times, and continued a week later on trains & buses in DC.
