I am surprised Comcast still only allows 12 numbers being that it is almost 2012 but then again I still don't even have remoteDVR control, caller ID on tv or any of the other features half of the country has. (I also have Comcast Voice and have all 12 filled with political party numbers.
877-469-8290: Allied Interstate (Debt Collector). My cell ended up on their list once - not fun (and I owed nothing - looking for someone else with same name - that was when I learned never to give my name or answer a question about my name until I know exactly who is calling). Luckily I can just save the number and mark it "send directly to voicemail" and it never rings again from that number.
Well.. that's all fine and well and good ... but A) you still get the ring ... B) you only have 12 block numbers with comcast?
My VOIP provider is 12 per entry, with UNLIMITED ENTRIES ... so say I create block lists based on company's that call ... Visa ... I add 12 numbers to that group ... I have to create a Visa2 group to continue adding them.
why would anyone need more than 12? ... well you obviously did Lucas.. there are lots of reasons. and having ONLY 12 as a maxium is wrong.
I just added an update in the description. the phone no longer rings once. The device checks the number first before allowing phone to ring.
Unfortunately comcast voice only allows you to block 12 numbers. This is a problem for me. one company calls me a few times a day from the same area code but a different phone every time. They never call from the same number. They do this cause they know people will just block them if they call from the same number.
@lucaslanddotcom - kinda what I figured.. :( I went through hell yesterday trying to nail down some things on comcast's voice option.. certainly not the best option out there..not as cheap as other good providers, and this 12 call block limitation is just garbage...it costs *them* nothing to allow the more blocks & while their service may be cheaper than local (45 here, 41 with comcast) its not worth nearly double my current Voip. Good Luck w/the blocking!!
reason why I went with comcast voice is cause they offered a free year if i got internet. The year recently passed & they increased my bill by $20. I keep it is cause I don't want to lose that # right now. They gave me some bull that I'm still getting a special bundle rate for keeping the 2 services, & If I just had internet i would pay about the same price. They're so tricky. I'm glad I dumped their TV service 2 years to go with dish network. Comcast fees for the STB's & packages were pure BS
