Except for me, I have athsma. Learn more about athsma, MTR, and sources of clean power in the future. Then you'll see why we need to stop destroying mountains and the air and ourselves.
Its great fuel, but it has too many drawbacks. "Clean coal" releases radionucleides into the atmospehere and heavy metals like DDT. Wheres the clean in that? And mountain top removal mining isnt "clean." But sure, we cant instantly do away with coal, but when that's our collective goal- to replace coal as fast as possible with a sustainable resource like wind and solar or whatever the next great invention is- thats a reasonable goal.
As you know, coal is a reliable and affordable source of energy. People are using it now for electricity and will continue to do so for decades to come. Developing nations like China and India have huge reserves of coal that they are using for energy, and it's up to us to develop the technology here to export it abroad. There are clean coal technology projects that reduce carbon dioxide by up to 95 percent. We just need the funding to develop it on a commercial scale.
Wow coal is great!
