i saw the ips236 the 23" at frys and loved it so i got the 21" ips226 and im real disappointed. Back light is horrible, screen looks brown on the top half and whitish on the bottom. Done everything I can to try and fix it but its a no go.
Hello ... i bought this monitor today and i can't rid this strange problem ... Everything is kinda purple'ish white is most noticeable it looks like kinda of purple and after hours of trying changing the colors gamma and so on i just can't rid of it ... the only way to actually rid of it is turn the Modes on ... Movies / Text / Photo only this 3 mods shut the Purple problem ... but at this mods the screen is to bright to watch with out a light in the room :/ please help
I just returned a Samsung BX2450 because of nasty ghosting, even on web pages with text was on a grey background, even when set to the fastest response setting.
I am warning y'all because it is similarly priced and some may be considering it. Others may have had more luck, but I took 2 of these screens back already, and now I will go for one of these LG IPS models instead. I'm not worried about the 8 ms panel because I am using an old 8ms LG backup right now and its fine. Thanks for the review!
@Dariushinio Hi, I'm an owner (obviously!) and I haven't seen any ghosting in any games(and i played on it crysis 2, Cs 1.6, COD - see my other video - haven't tryed yet Cs Source), but that depends also on the person that is watching!
Seems like a great monitor, but the deal breaker for me is the lack of an 'audio line in' port.... I wanted to have both my Xbox 360 and PC hooked upto this with external speakers plugged into the headphone/audio out port on the monitor.... But there's no way of connecting audio from the PC (if using VGA or DVI inputs).
@prasanu1979 I'm trying to find a good monitor with audio in/out ports along with both DVI and HDMI ports. It must be at least 23" in size with a response time of at least 5ms (will most likely be a TN panel). I'm on a budget of around £200... but could stretch to £250 (thats just over $400 US). Do you have any reccomendations? All the screens i find seem to have annoying bad points!
@PowerPie5000 Hi, Sorry, but I don't have any recomandations. Usually, I don't make any recomandations, because if I like a display it doesn't mean that the other person will be pleased with that recomandation....
@prasanu1979 I've found what could possibly be the perfect gaming monitor!... It's a 24" 1080p LG screen and the model is 'LG W2442PE-BF'.... It's got VGA, DVI-D, HDMI and audio in/out ports. It has a 5ms typical response time and a 2ms GTG response time (perfect for gaming with no input lag and no blurring/ghosting). It supports upto 1920x1080 resolution (aka 1080p) and the image quality and colours are spot on! I like the fact that it's not glossy as i hate gloss. The stand is great too!
I'm looking at gettin a monitor for FPS (very fast paced), racing game, standard desktop and movies, so a new monitor is essential. A tv/monitor would have been better, but I tried 2 XL2370HDs an the images were superb, but they were poor. Poor buttons. Poor stand etc.
What's the stand like? Does it squeak? Any ghosting on IPS? Hows the input via HDMI n DVI? One perform better than d other?
Hows the performance in movies?
Sorry for the questions. I've been searching 4 a monitor for 2 months.
Is that horrendous ghosting I see or actually part of the game effects? I know the responsiveness of IPS panels are still far behind, but that looked pretty bad too me.
I fixed my problems with getting the screen to work. The colours are great with one exception. The white colour, it feels kind of gray and such. Maybe it just the way it should be and maybe i'm kind of unfamiliar to it but it feels kind of wierd.
@bajen13s i've heard this about a few IPS panels in particular so i wonder if it's actually a good thing but does seem odd. Check your colour temperature is not on sRGB or something though (unless you are using an sRGB colour profile).
I'm having trouble getting my screen to work. I connect it to my comp, push the start button and the screen switches on normally but then there's a sign saying HDMI - Power saving mode and the screen goes into some kind of sleepy mode.
@bajen13s Hi, first of all how do you connect (HDMI, DVI or VGA)? The second button from the power switch is the input selector. If you use multiple connectors you will have to switch to the one you use. But if you have only one input it should go to that automatically.
No, I haven't bought one yet. I'm having some problems choosing a new monitors. I want a pva or mva or ips monitor, but it must be absolutely quiet/silent. Many monitors make noise, especially Samsung.
@yiri16 Hi, regarding the backlight bleeding, well there is a little on the right side of the monitor, but it is barely noticeable. I mean I observed it only when complete dark in the room (all the lights out and the only source being the display) and the screen showing a black screen. As for response time and input lag I did not notice any.
tell me ur best settings for xbox 360 via hdmi?

Hi, it looks like a matt screen, is that correct? I hate glossy screens and that would put off getting this monitor.

@PowerPie5000 No, you don't get a input audio jack, so no sound from vga or dvi. Only HDMI.

This IPS LCD is awesome. Never going back to TFT. A whole better way to look at gaming and experiencing them.

is this one better than new LGs IPS1/6?
jbvtr 11 months ago
@jbvtr Hi, I don't understand what you mean! This monitor has the IPS6 series panel (the new version)
prasanu1979 11 months ago
@prasanu1979 - now i get it. IPS 1 or 6 is just a name of the line/series of new monitors. what is difference between those two series, 1 and 6?
do you know which one of those, either IPS 1 or 6, would be the best for me, since i'm graph. designer and hard core gamer?

Thanks for your videos. Does your IPS226V make noise when you turn down the brightness level? (in a quiet room).

@usasenatevoteforsale
Hi I don't hear anything from the monitor. Turn the brightness level down and then up to the max and I don't hear any sound. Does yours?

@usasenatevoteforsale Well, I have also a Samsung P2270 and doesn't make any sound either, but I guess it's all about luck.
prasanu1979 1 year ago
@prasanu1979 - i guess, it's about input voltage. few volts more or less would make it be quiet IMHO.
