  • I come back this video every so often. I tear up every time I hear this music. Wonderful images also, Hockney would be a natural for this magical opera. Thank you for posting this.

  • This is, in my humble opinion, quite simply one of the most beautiful passages of music ever conceived and written down. Strauß was undoubtedly inspired by the life-affirming, hopeful text intoned by the Watchmen, and the music is set forth with an orchestration that is beyond masterful in its richness and serenity.
