hey some1 please answere...my friend lives in toronto and he is a immigrant and he citizenship test is coming. do these questions really come? and what happens if he fails?
@shayorshayorshayor Yes these questions are on the test and if your friend fails he'll unfortunatly have to live in Canada for the rest of his life. The test is to see if you're stupid enough to ba a Canadian. Lets hope your friend passes.
@TroutFink wow why such derogatory words? there is no excuse for anyone to be blatantly rude to anyone else? bet you didnt expect that out of an American because apparently the majority of us are pathetic rude idiots.
@koberamone1989 I don't know, maybe Canadian also but only somewhere in Vancouver or Toronto but I don't have friends there yet. in Montreal many people speak French. Israeli is also good but only somewhere in Tel-Aviv. But also I don't speak Hebrew very well.
@koberamone1989 ive heard rumors of the u.s. test lol. but i dont know if it atually exists. lol..........not that ill ever have to take it, but can you get dual citizenship then?
@koberamone1989 what are the ramifications of getting dual citizenship? like are you required to live in a specific country or anything? and how do you go about getting dual citizenship then?
@deedundone lol, dude, you can live where ever you want, but if you are in your country and you go to your parents country you already have dual,sooo....but if you are in a shitty country and you wanna go to US for example you obviasly live in USA,by green card, you can get dual by your parents or green marrting someone where it's still legal, canada is not the case, they are very hard on this
@seasaltisland It was meaning to establish the border. But if you are Canadian or American you can cross that border. But now any people who have and Canadian and American citizenships Steven Spielberg, Pamela Anderson.
John Cabot was Italian. As he was the first European to land in Canada (Newfoundland) the first Canadians were Italian. But then, the Vikings who came over ca 1000 AD.....
I have never heard mention of Italians being the first Europeans to land in Canada. What year do you estimate this started? I thought that they started landing in New York.
the whole idea of citizenship test is totally flawed. It's not what people SAY that matters, but what they DO. There should be a probation period, during which the government should be watching the new citizens, make sure they pay their taxes, and OBVIOUSLY they shouldn't be eligible for ANY social security benefits, such as unemployment benefits etc, during that period. If during that period they PROVE that they are worthy of being Canadian, fine. Otherwise, hasta la vista
Social security benefits? Lol! That made me look up your profile. Welcome to the Canadian citizenship discussion our American neighbour. :) You stalk your new citizens if it's legal in your state and you really want to. We'll invite ours to a hockey game and try to get them to buy us an overpriced beer in a flimsy plastic cup. (Trying for funny not rude in case anyone's sense of humour was injured during the testing).
The only two I wasn't sure of was the Alberta manufacturing one and the nationality of J. Cabot. I think he was Italian, and I think the Alberta one is Aeronautics, but I'm not positive.
No, you are not. Your dad was never a Canadian citizen, since the Canadian Citizenship act became in effect 1 January 1947. He was a British subject by birth and then later he became a naturalized US citizen.
Interestingly none of these questions are in the slightest bit important. Better questions would be about Canada's charter of freedoms, basic human rights laws etc.
Try answering them if you're from a country that doesn't teach Canadian history, or if you don't speak French or English. I'm betting you would find them MUCH more difficult.
Vikings where the first europeans to come to canada, but they didnt settle hear. They stayed for a little bit then up and left. So the question is still accurate
I don't think the author of this video really meant that these were the most difficult questions on a citizenship test.
I think we can all agree that these questions are pretty straightforward and those who have actually taken this exam can certain attest that there are more difficult questions (althought not by much) on the real exams.
Some people take this really seriously. come on. grow up you fucking adopted douchbag

Today in the Wall street Journal there was a story about a new Canadian act that deals with citizenship.
My dad was born in Canada in 1907, naturalized US in the early 1930's.
Am I a Canadian citizen? How do I find out about this.
ristahink 2 years ago

The first settlers were from France... I should know 'cause I'm a proud descendant !!!
I'm also Métis on my mother's side and Louis Riel is a personal hero of mine !!!
BTW, none of those questions were particularly hard.

The Vikings came from Greenland, IIRC, and didn't stay because they couldn't make peace with the native peoples.
