@w35m4n just dnb innit, the more you bring pointless names into describing a whole sound thats based on broken beats...the more you segregate it from itself
@hypercatjohn I agree, a lot of the time it's pointless. It's just that it's helpful cause sometimes you want to listen to a certain feeling of dnb or whatever type of music, so it can help find other artists that are more similar in that way. But I do think people take subgenres way too seriously.
@hypercatjohn true, but most people call stuff like this drumfunk. It's a sound both artists have pioneered but really look into the artists and the labels if you are more curious about the sound. These guys are production machines at the top of their game.
@w35m4n actually, this prettier dnb or back in early 1990 called jungle, was the first form of dnb from which other kinds originated. As of today, i find it as the oldest and yet most complex of all!
@w35m4n@hypercatjohn True True, but it helps if your looking for something similar to have a subgenre to start with. So I would call this ambient dnb, or liquid dnb (except without the jazz vocals) try looking up medschoolmusic, there a sub label to Hospital records (High Contrast London Elektricity). They produce alot of similar artist, you also might want to try Phaeleh ( /watch?v=p-lYudKH_oQ&feature=related ). Hope that helps. Also if you like chill out music look at Bop he's great.
This and 'Snow' are my favourite tracks by Seba. I wish he does an extended mix of this and takes it a bit further or use some of the same samples for part 2 or something.
@LoveHateL0ve no worries matey, maybe stick some mixes up like I do, the more people doing it, the more ears it'll reach, look into people like equinox, nebula, naibu...etc, theyre all as amazing
Nope, relatively new. Check out 'forever' by seba too. in fact...just crawl through my uploads, theres shit loads of good stuff to choose from if you like this
Yeah deff, I produce this style so it's all heavily inspiring. 'So Long' by Seba & Lotek is probably my favourite but I'll check out your other uploads. Thanks mate.
But yeah, go to iTunes Radio and click "Electronica" and search for any "Downtempo/Chillout/Lounge/Triphop/Liquid/Acid" type stuff...
I listen to it ever night.
Cryosleep is my favorite since it has ZERO BEATS Guaranteed, it's way better to sleep to, I get headaches and wake up if there's fast beat changes or effects.
I want to put a very sub-bass efficient subwoofer under my bed at low volume, I love the effect and feeling of it.
i can feel the icy winds and the cold breathy air inside the caves of a glacier. its not dark and not lit, but somehow its a shiny atmosphere . the sunlight sparkles on the ice..... well done
awesome track, sebas music is some of the best drum n bass ever created in my opinion, its intelligent the mans a genious, on a par with the likes of LTJ
Absolutely agree, he's one of the small amount of producers who believe in going back to move forward. He's got a new track out called 34 Alpha, one of the hardest hitting dnb tracks I've heard in eons.
This would be considered drumfunk (or ambient jungle)? I'd dislike calling this drum and bass as all the stuff I usually hear has that repetitive "kick snare, kick-snare" pattern.
Just dig round my profile man, if you sub, I up new mixes with tracklistings all the time. Whatever is out there that is like this, I own...it's that simple!
I'll forward on an email to all my subscribers for you Dev. I get a lot of questions regarding an MP3 version of this. Looking forward to Isolationist EP!
Cheers. The whole White-Vinyl Series of Arctic Music will be available on March 14th :)
Yeh the Isolationist LP is already here, looks great, triple TRANSPARENT GLASS VINYL. droool !! hehe. Well I got my copies, but in shops in a few weeks :):)
Sounds great, been keenly keeping an ear out for the podcast things you do. Been loving every track off it, much respect for sticking to your guns amidst the clownstep era we live in
I was driving by car through a landscape which was a weird mix of agriculture, industry, harbours, suburbs and folklore. Crossed by rivers and channels.
It was already dark and I had this music on (on repeat of course). Such a great experience. The lights in the distance, every bend a new view, the folklore which was still in the air.
I do not know why, but when i listen to this track and see the rare white coloured vinyl, tears pop from eyes flowing down my face forming beads wherever they drop.
Rolling, meditative, deep - I love those chewy, chunky drums. And those choir-like synths when they come in... it's like looking at the glimpsing the sun through the clouds.
My own white vinyl copy of this track came through the post today - thanks for whacking this video up and inspiring me buy it!
