  • double pistol grips. go hard or go home.

  • @theycallmefoval1 lol, I ended up replacing the forend with a hogue, I like the hogue a lot better.

  • I was going to poke fun at the tactical aspect of this video but it looks like you guys have that covered.

  • i just bought my first shot gun express magnum going tactical what barrel do u think i should go with?

  • you still have your first barrel???

  • @masterthoj nope, sold it.

  • 10 people made a tactical withdrawal

  • Your tactical shotgun can be made more tactical by the tactical application of additional tactical accessories, tacticly of course.

  • @a2redneck I find the tactical purchasing of tactical accessories to be the most tactically challenging personally.

  • @a2redneck sounds tactical to me? :P

  • knox stock = crap.

  • I just shot my Man-Gun all over this laptop. Good thing I have a Goo-Guard for my keyboard. Nice shotgun. -Barbecue cats and dogs. :-)

  • I like that you made the clarificarion that your dad did the filing. Fathers sons and gunsns.

  • YING!!! i just got me an 870 and was looking for mods and saw this video!!

I'll have to show you some pics when i see you next!

    -Bostic

  • @rottiemillie Awesome! I just switched to the hogue fore end and I like it a lot more than the pistol grip fore end. By the way, I'm officially a trooper as of yesterday.

  • @dahelmetrk CONGRATS!!! thats awesome man! I should be getting my hogue forend and pistol grip on monday for my home defense set-up. I'm putting a KleyZion Tactical light mount on the mag tube with a Streamlight M6 light/laser combo (I opted out of LED due to the width of the M6 incandescent beam), and I put the side saddle on yesterday.. is the stock on the Knoxx SpecOps removable? i want to get the recoil reducer then put a Magpul stock on instead.

  • @dahelmetrk Damn, aren't you living the life :P

  • lol, ain't a turkey gun no more

  • Good video guy. Nice.

  • @Superdog246 Thanks!

  • Thanx for the info its really helpful

  • No problem, let me know if you have any more questions.

  • @dahelmetrk I use a Boresnake but I just dont feel like it cleans the Barrel good enough and a couple time I had lead stuck inside the Barrel and I shoot alot of slugs Because the Ranges out here suck they wont let you shoot anything but slugs and I like to but a little oil in my Barrel after cleaning is that not necessary?

  • Ah, I've never shot slugs through my gun so I haven't had any lead issues. I've been taught that it's always good to have a thin coating of oil on the barrel, I put a few drops of oil on the end of the boresnake so it oils as I pull it through. Have you tried spraying a foaming bore solvent down the barrel prior to using the boresnake? That may help get the lead out.

  • do you take the light laser combo off when clean the Barrell or do you leave it on and slide the Barrell off? the reason I ask is Because I installed a Heatshield and a laserlyte Tri-Rail and I striped the allen screws so I just slide all off and ya my mag tube is scratched all to hell so im gonna buy the same stuff so I can put my flashlight on check out mine Mossberg 500 7+1 Persuader

  • I never take the lasermax off the shotgun because it's a royal pain and scratches up the mag tube. All I do to clean the barrel is run a boresnake through it. If you haven't tried those you definitely should, it makes life a lot easier when it comes to cleaning guns. Nice vid and nice gun. I don't have any experience with Mossbergs but have heard they're awesome.

  • How is that stock working for you? I've heard some bad things about it.

  • Mine's worked very well for me so far. The recoil is noticeably lighter so I'm still happy with it.

  • It's ugly! Put a surefire on it!

  • I think I'll stick with the Lasermax instead of selling my soul for a Surefire.

  • I recently got a Remington 870 tactical and i was wondering if i could use just a standard 870 barrel to replace it instead of having the 18 1/2'' barrel

  • As long as the barrel is intended for the 870 it should be fine.

  • @dro0422

why would u buy a different barrel i get great patter with my 870 tactical, if u want just buy a different choke

  • @hambone950 well when i shoot i feel like it doesn't reach out as far as a gun with a longer barrel

  • @dro0422

i do have another shot gun and it is nice to reach out but if u just want a tactical/ hunting one it will do just fine, i never tried putting on another choke to get farther out there but it would be cheaper then buying whole new set up

  • a laser on a shotgun?LOL

  • @baalpeteor Slugs.

  • @djbomber9 how well do slugs shoot out of a shotgun? I haven't had a chance to try them yet

  • @baalpeteor Why not?

  • im stuck with a 18.5 barrel with RIFLE sights in it. meant for hunting turkey i believe....how bad is this??im not selling it or getting another oen cause of money and i just dont feel like dealing with it. would rifle sights be ok for a tac shotgun??

  • Not bad at all. Hitting a man-sized target inside of 15 yards doesn't require anything other than the ability to sight down the barrel. I recommend just practicing putting your front sight on the target and you'll be fine. I've got rifle sights on the one in my video and I like them just fine. If you still don't like them, I guess you could try to remove the rear sight and then you'd essentially have a bead sight. Hope this helps.

  • @dahelmetrk what measurement do u have ur rear sightg windage on? u plan on shooting only buck shot thru it?

  • I can't remember what it's set at and I don't have it with me at the moment. I plan on mostly using 00 buck but I've also got some Remington UHD that I may use since I live in an apartment but I'm not 100% confident in it's abilities so for now I'll stick with buckshot.

  • @dahelmetrk whats do you have your measurement on ur rearsight elevation set at?? u are shooting buckshot right?

  • if you have a 18.5 inch barrel what the largest mag extension you can get??

  • The largest recommended for a 18.5in barrel is a 7 round extension (adds 2 shells to magazine).

  • @NeedWarForPeace I use an 8 shot choat extention on my 870 and it sticks out about 1" past the barrel but does not effect the gun at all.

  • haha loving the comment at the end :P

  • This is not a assault rifle, you put way to much time and thought into it! It is for 15 yard CQB at best, you don't need any of that crap! The stock buttstock is the best for combat! You guys always buy these things and ruin them wasting your cash and you really dont need to! Trust me, I have been in the infantry since 94, we use SG's all the time and only a few guys pistol grip them to fit in a scabbard and only use them for breaching, They are worthy out of the box!

  • This is not an assault rifle and they are worthy out of the box. Everything else you said is your opinion and I don't happen to agree with you. I'm happy with my gun and that's what matters. You're not the first person to come back from battle knowing that there's only one way to do things and that's your way and everyone else is wrong.

  • do you have any wiggle at all in the adjustable stock?>

  • Nope, it just passed my wiggle test and feels solid as a rock.

  • Yes nice setup. Just got mine and having a hell of a time taking it apart :P

  • Thanks, they're a little tricky to take apart and put back together. Hopefully, nothing will break and I won't have to take it apart again.

  • your a giant homo

  • *You're

  • @dahelmetrk your use of grammar is alarming.

  • I'm not sure what you mean by that.

  • awesome setup kudos to you sir

  • Thanks!

  • big gun

  • Indeed

  • speak well!

  • Whats up dude...nice very nice. I just bought one with a pistol grip (fixed rear stock), side saddle, extended tube and a picanny for a sight. A friend said they make a halographic site? said it was pretty bad ass, does it improve your accuracy or performance? Does that fore end feel weird at first? Mine has the original forend slightly modified to accomadate the side saddle.

  • Thanks. EOTech makes a holographic weapon sight. I've used one and I really liked it but I think its overkill on a shotgun. They're designed for medium range encounters and the shotgun isn't, plus they're pricey. the fore end felt extremely weird at first but its growing on me and I do feel like I have more control over the gun with it.

  • wow thats a nice 870 best gun you could ever buy ive fired countless rounds through mine and she hasent jamed once but you have a verry nice 870

  • Thanks.

  • its time like these when you wish you were American.

  • I like my Mossberg 590 persuader better but thats still a fucking nice shotgun looks pretty bulky though but still a nice piece of hardwear.

  • Thanks, Mossbergs are great guns. My gun's a little heavier than I'd prefer but it's manageable.

  • That muzzle break looks so goofy barrel porting, has the same effect without the bulk of that break.

  • Muzzle break? Are you referring to the LaserMax laser/light? There is no muzzle break on my gun.

  • @dahelmetrk

lol i saw your light and at a glance i thought it was a muzzle break as well. i was tripping balls at it until i realized it wasnt a break lol.

  • Very nice! 1 question-Do you have any problems with failure to eject. My remington does not eject the last shell to well. I've heard rem's have probs with this. any advice would be appreciated.

  • FTE may occur from:

    1. Ejector/extractor malfunction or broken, weak ejector tension.

    2. The forend. Slightly longer, old style, aftermarket forend installed on a later Model 870 (~2007 or newer) may prevent full cycle of the action. The bolt on the newer 870's travels back slightly further than older models. The metal of the forend tube MUST touch the receiver. The difference is literally millimeters, but it will be just enough to hang up reliable ejection. Sand back of forend down a bit

  • Thanks, I've never had any problems with failure to eject but this is, yet again, another instance where Juicetech seems very knowledgeable on the subject.

  • Pretty cool shotgun ya got there. Im a police officer and just finished putting together a tactical shotgun for work. Im thinkin about uploading the vid..well again nice shotgun, do you have a buffer tube in the knoxx stock or it just reduces recoil by design? I have a Mesa Tactical high mount stock and they offer a recoil buffer tube but its almost two hundred bucks! Well ill let you know when I post and let me know what you think of my shotgun. Stay safe.

  • Overall the the Knoxx SpecOps stock is more effective having 2 integral springs. The Knoxx is a slower impulse, but with more muzzle flip. Enidine buffers are about $130, same as the Knoxx stock. It's recoil impulse is a bit faster, but the gun travels straight back with less flip, which can be nice (I also use Mesa high mount, and a Vltor Emod stock. High mount puts the stock directly inline with the barrel) IMO, based on your current setup, you really can't go wrong with the buffer

  • Juicetech obviously knows more about it than I do so I'd follow his advice. I look forward to seeing your video.

  • Geez Man , i dont know how you stay as calm as you do with some of the silly comments ppl make. good job to you! and another atta boy aside from my last one for a cool ass shotgun. i like to think the people from remington admired your cool ass set up soo much on you tube and thats the reason they now offer the blackhawk stock on their rig!

  • Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence, glad you enjoyed the video. I try not to get angry at anonymous comments made online, and most people when confronted logically instead of aggressively usually become much more understanding.

  • fair enough, but some of your "advantages" are questionable. The extra ammo is not really needed unless you are going to war. (the chances of you being in an extended gun fight in home defense situation are pretty much zero.) So that basically just makes the gun heavier. The light is something that is really only useful if you are in unfamiliar surroundings. You live in your house so you should know where everything is. Plus, it lets everyone know exactly where YOU are.

    Best of luck to you.

  • You're right about most likely never being in an extended gun fight, I just can't justify risking my life on a "most likely". I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Plus the weight of an aluminum tube and three extra shells is negligible. Its true I should know where everything in my house is, except someone who shouldn't be there which is where a light comes in handy, despite the drawback of giving away my position. Thanks for watching.

  • Obviously tanjorojo would rather not be "well prepared" for a gun fight and would rather just go into one with a three shot duck blaster and half blind. There are plenty of reasons to modify a tactical shotgun, especially one made for home defense. "Better safe than sorry", I believe is the phrase that best fits this..

  • @SuperBigchile

Yep, so long as you not what the mods are for, and not just because you want to look like a swat team guy. I stand by the light comment. Don't need one unless your in a strange building (e.g. one you don't know.) I know where everything is in my house and who's supposed to be coming through the door and when. Thus I don't need to betray my position nor take an admiring stare at the idiot i'm about to shoot. But go nuts, use one and I'm sure you'll impress all intruders.

  • @SuperBigchile

P.s. One shot from a duck blaster is plenty if you know how to shoot you muppet.

  • @tanjorojo it goes down a lot better in court if you have a light and can confirm that you have properly identified your target before destroying it, rather than blasting off willy nilly into the dark at your drunken neighbour who accidently entered the wrong house.

  • @Gallant0 yep, it probably won't hurt your chances in court, however I think the court might be slightly forgiving if the "drunken neighbour" has had to make his way through a decent storm door and a sturdy main door in order to get shot by my fashlight-less shotgun in the first place. I think we're stretching beyond the bounds of likely scenarios here. If you're so drunk you can't identify your own house, I don't think you'd be able to kick your way into mine quickly, slowly or otherwise.

  • I wish this whole "tactical" obsession would go away.

Guess what folks, putting an AR style stock , laser etc on your shotgun DOESN'T make it "tactical" . People employ tactics, guns do what the operator makes them do.

Take a plain old remy 870, paint it pink and stamp "Beyonce" on it and it would be just as "tactical" as the one in the vid.

What are you going to do if you have to use a plain old factory stock, bead sight model in a tight situation? Miss, most likely.

    Guns like women; naked.

  • Sounds like you needed to vent. Feel better? If I'm going to use my gun for defense, I want every advantage I can get. That means a stock that gives me more control and faster follow-up shots, an extended magazine in the rare case I'd need extra shells, a light if my house is pitch dark...you get the picture. I'm perfectly capable of shooting a stock gun, but its hard to employ tactics with a 26 inch barrel leading you into every room you clear. Find some place else to vent your frustrations.

  • Im sorry but I laughed my ass off on this comment! fuckin funny man..

  • ur review was decent but one thing bugged me... when u talked about the barrel u said it chambers the shells... well ur a dumbass for that... the action is what chambers the shells... that is a basic barrel for the 870 which can also be used on the super mag which shoots 3 1/4" shells as long as they r 12 gauge.

  • The phrase "chambers" refers to the ability to hold the shell, not the actual act of seating a shell in the chamber. Technically, the breach bolt seats a shell in the chamber when the carrier positions the shell in front of the chamber and the action is closed. Also, as stated on the side of the barrel and the product information at MidwayUSA and anywhere else you look, you'll see this barrel chambers a max 3" shell depending on receiver size. Think before you type, it may make you seem smart.

  • That guy was a dipshit, he has to type his ideas before he thinks about them because he'll forget them. Just look at his spelling, he has to take short-cuts there too to prevent forgetting his ideas. Nice gun by the way, how is the Knoxx stock? I am thinking about one for my 870.

  • Thanks for the support. I am loving the Knoxx stock. I don't have a real strong upper body but the stock really does make a noticeable difference in the recoil and I think my follow-up shots are a lot faster as a result. I would definitely recommend it for your gun.

  • you put a laser on a shotgun?

  • I stray from using lasers and and don't plan on relying on it but if the situation arises that I need assistance aiming, I'd be thankful to have it on the gun.

  • its your money.

  • Indeed.

  • lasers work great for LOS, no one that knows their salt depends on a laser for aiming. However, with a shotgun depending on the load it is good for knowing you are not aiming at a teammate, and an estimation of where your pellets will go.The larger the pellets or slug the less the laser will tell. especially when it is using a tactical choke. Shotguns are less picky than rifles, and IMO this is a great setup for home defense and mobility in a civilian gun.

  • oops, I said some of that a bit backwards.

  • It's nice that you plugged your dad at the end. Nice shotty, BTW. 5 stars.

  • much more effective than most tactical as you have the constriction of chokes where most tactical guns are choked cylinder bore which limits their range greatly, great jog with this video.

  • Have you ever taken a Tactical Class with that set-up? I heard the Knox stock fails often in class.

  • No I haven't. I hadn't heard about that, I guess I'll find out once I get some training.

  • beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which means you're probably cross-eyed.

  • @dahelmetrk BURN

  • That's a Knoxx SpecOps Stock.... FKN AWESOME. Don't hate.

  • awesome i have a moded mosberg 500a at the veryend ware it says correction you looked over your dads shoulder and watched him di it. thats awesome. im 24 and my oldman passed away in november and i gotta say that cleaning our guns together and bs ing while we did it is something i will miss a lot... cherrish the time you have with your old man youll be glad you did someday

    keep your powder dry

    ~cf~

  • Thanks, I will. I'm sorry to hear about your father, at least you have fond memories to look back on.

  • Do you like the lasermax combo? I mean I can see the light being useful but the laser I dunno. I am making a tactical 870 right now and have yet to get sights or a light. Just need some opinions.

  • what do ya mean cleared

  • It means I unloaded the gun and checked to ensure the magazine tube was empty; however, the gun was still handled as if it was loaded as a safety precaution.

  • That looks sweet!

  • Appreciate the info, im about to buy a remington 870 super mag and was wondering about modifications and this greatly helps.

  • Glad I could help, thanks for watching.

  • I didn't buy it because its "tactical", I bought it because that's what the local gun shop had in stock. I ended up being very satisfied with it since it feels more comfortable to use than it looks.

  • yeah looks kind of useless

  • it works well so is therefore useful.

  • just seems like it would be harder to clear rooms arond corners

  • It feels like I have more control over the gun so I don't think it would be harder to clear rooms with it versus a regular fore grip.

  • I have never tried one. I might have to now. i was just thinkg about going around corners. It would be great if there was some sort of trigger on it to activate a light.

  • get a benelli supernova

  • why? that 870 works just as well and can be had for hundreds less

  • just joking but i do love my benelli. Do you like that front gip seems like it might limit some tactical movement

  • No........ every American like myself is for the freedom of self preservation and the god given right to bare arms....only for us good guys tho... ;)

  • @KLmatt3006 yeah well when the SHTF the right to bare arms will have no restrictions

  • how do you like the stock and the forehand grip ?

  • No we just like to pretend that we are!

  • does everyone in the UK have their hands tied behind their back by the government?

  • no we just live in the now

  • How much does this gun cost stock (no upgrades)? I want a Hi capacity, pump action tactical shotgun and its either going to be this one or the Mossberg 590.

  • The stock retails for $135. I think between the 870 and the 590 you can't really go wrong. You're going to be happy with whichever choice you make since they're both good guns.

  • you can get a tactical 870 for about 400 but you can get a new England pardner pump for about 200 and its just as good in my opinion. ergonomics are the same and everything. i like my 870 clone more because if it gets dinged up i don't care.

  • Nice! Ihave the LE version. Yours is much nicer now.

  • Thanks.

  • The 590 has no choke to muck with. Safety & Mag Release can be operated without taking your hand out of firing position, which is important when you're in a split-second jam. That is a big win for me.

The 870 is more versatile for hunters, but as a tact gun, 590 wins. You could even get a 500 model and add to it. Safety and mag release in the same place.

Just my opinion, but I'd buy mossy. If I won an 870.....I'd trade it for a mossy.

    Nice job though.

  • You've made some good points and I agree with you, I just like the 870 enough to not bother exchanging for a mossy. So far its worked well for me and hopefully it will continue to. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice looking gun. If the foregrip makes you more comfortable with the 870, stick with it, Diff Folks Diff Strokes. You won yours, can't beat the price. However, if I were to buy...I'd go Mossberg 590. Continued......

  • Yeah Ok. You don't put a pistol grip on a shotgun that has over an 18" barrel. The 20" barrel counteracts the grips manuverability, while the grip counteracts the accuruacy of the 20" barrel. I Dont think u know what you're talking about..

  • okay since you know everything lets see you make a video the grip provides better handling than nuthing so shut the fuck up dumbass

  • Put the original stock back on. You sacrifice better accuracy and sight adjustment for the "Tacticool" look.

  • I disagree. the pistol grip gives me more control over the weapon increasing my accuracy and the sights on the new barrel are fully adjustable. I didn't make the upgrades because they look "cool", my gun is functional. I get this weird vibe that you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

  • While my shotgun doesn't have a tactical grip, I would like one. After firing my friends 870 with tac grips I was very surprised how well it actually sits in your hands and takes a bit of edge of the kick.

  • They really do a lot to reduce recoil, especially with the recoil reduction springs in it.

  • Nice! I have a Wingmaster with a extended tube that now holds 10rds and a 20" barrel.

  • Do you know what kind of shotgun i should get for home defense? ive been looking at the mossberg 500 its one i like but not sure......

  • It seems to me that the two most popular are the Rem 870 and the Moss 500 so you're looking in the right place. Both are excellent guns with plenty of aftermarket parts for them. For most people, its a matter of brand loyalty when choosing between the two. I think you'll be happy with whichever one you choose.

  • thanks

  • In order of quality:

    Benelli

    Remington

    Mossberg

  • the mossy 590 is built better then the 500, just thought i'd let u know

  • definately go with the remington, the mossbergs are nice, but just not as durable in my experience. Benelli's are amazing, but theyre also pretty expensive...

  • nice vid. ive got the same stock on my 870 and im adding a mako group forend as well.

  • You make good video's. One tip I can give you is to use a lighter color table so that the weapon can contrast better with the background. Currently there is no contrast between the table and your guns.

  • Thanks. Now that I watch the video i see your point. Maybe for my next vid I'll put down a sheet or something.

  • you won a Shotgun in a raffle? god bless America! :-D

  • lol, yeah its great. Before the shotgun, I won a rifle at an NRA banquet. Life is good.

  • Comment removed

  • get rid of the grips you might have a nice shotgun.

  • It must be rough going through life not knowing what you're talking about.

  • yea, you're right...my 10 years as an Army Ranger, serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq don't offer any insight. good call pal. Drop the grips, add some ghost sights, and you will have what the military and police use. Unless that's not "tactical" enough for you. If you can't handle criticism don't post.

  • The problem is, people like you gain experience and suddenly believe their opinion is fact. That's not criticism, that's arrogance. I like my grips and I like my sights. I'm the one shooting it, not the military and not the police, so I'd like to think my preferences are a little more important. Regardless of our differences, thank you for serving.

  • agreed! nice set-up.
