After near 20 hours of playing this game since I just got it off ebay last friday, I can honestly say Meguro's music is incredible as always. The Shin Megami Tensei series never disappoints, and from this point on any Megaten game will be an auto buy for me. Bravo, Atlus. Bravo.

He's got some really epic tunes, but his battle themes just don't do it for me. :\

Also, I've never played DDS2, but this sounds like it would get VERY repetitive and dry during gameplay.

Sounds more to me like you're having an elitism issue. SMT is no longer as underground as it was before thanks to Atlus' way of catering to a larger audience. Now you feel that the thing making you cool, your SMT video game hobby, is being trampled on my fanboys and fangirls just because it's more anime-oriented.

Truth is, though, having a sort of hardcore elitism attitude toward Shin Megami Tensei is the opposite of cool. It means you need more hobbies. Or a life :P

I can see what people mean that P3-4 don't "feel" like Megaten games, but why is that a bad thing? Honestly, I think all SMT games are amazing and this comes from a guy who used to hate JRPG's with an acerbic passion...

Its not a bad thing but its not really good either, Dont get me wrong they are good games, but I personally find them to lighthearted and they seem gimmicky and like typical anime bait to me, what I mean when I say that is...there full of anime cliches but they know the typical teenage anime obsessed japanophile will go for that....at least thats how I feel on it =/

Persona 3 is anything but light hearted. 4 had its moments too. I think it's a great thing that they branch out. Otherwise there wouldn't be a reason to name the games other than "Shin Megami Tensei X".

Nah, bullshit, 3 was pretty light hearted compared to the other games. Besides 3's story was just plane bad =/. There was like one plot twist with the main charecter and it didnt even make sense how it was done. 4 had a drastically better story but was too lighthearted. I felt more engaged in it anyway. Sorry but 3 and 4 could have easilly had the SMT title removed from there label, had it not been for Kaneko Kazuma's artwork for persona. Thats really the only real SMT feel I got out of it =/

Sorry. And by original I meant Japanese version. Other localizations have SMT (NA) or MT (Korean). I seem to remember PAL version not having it in front, but I could be wrong.

Persona 3 is in no way better than Digital Devil Saga 1and 2, SMT Nocturne, or Devil Summoner 1 and 2. Persona 3 is disappointing if you played Persona 1 and 2.

Disappointing? Depends. I played P1 on PSP and honestly, it's great but I still preferred Persona 3 over it. The social link system is a fun system on your first playthrough. That said, Persona 4 would be my favorite. I have Nocturne but I can't seem to get into it, it might be the difficulty -_-

I've played Persona 3 (and 4) and I also was a bit underwhelmed by it. In no way was it a bad game, but it didn't quite captivate me like P2 or Revelations did.

I prefer DDS, Nocturne, Revelations and both P2's, mainly for the difficulty, story, gameplay, and characters.

Lastly, this is one damn good battle song, not bland like most other RPG's.

Couldn't agree more if I had to pick 2 I'd pick Nocturne for it's post apocalyptic setting and DDS for giving you the ability to customize your skill set in any way you want and having the hardest secret boss ever. Hardcore SMT fans know where it's really at, only amateurs consider P3 the best.
