Compared to the other gymnast's vaults and the scores they were getting makes Dragulescu's a ten, that's where Tim Daggett has a point. If you scored higher they were meaner on you, opposite of how it was in 2008, where they were meaner on you if you potentially scored lower. Since 2008 they're just mean to everyone. After the shady scoring of Dragulescu's second vault judges were suspended for a year!

9.85 from one of the judges for dragulescu first vault. outrageous. judge should have been pulled from the floor! that was the biggest injustice to gymnastics, i'm telling you. so many of us rooting for someone to get a 10, and the judges just couldn't give even one...and drag's vault was the most perfect thing of those games! wtf

actually even if alicia had two good performances, her scores still would not have been good enough to beat china. if you took her scores from prelims, the US still would have been more than a point behind china. shes not the worst and most disgraceful gymnast in history, she just had a bad day and even if she had a good day the US still would not have won.

I love Deferr's form in the air...he may not have the handspring double or Tsuk double of the other guys, but there's something to be for straight legs and stretched feet in the air

I really think Dragalescu should have gotten a 10 on that first vault. The power and technique and form and that landing...no one before or since has ever performed that vault so exceptionally and he deserved the ultimate reward for it. It would have been nice in those days to see that it was still possible to get a 10. Shame he fell victim to the curse of the second vault, though. What an athlete.

I agree wtih you completely! He should've scored a ten for his double front ½ in both Athens and in Beijing. He is a stunning vaulter and a fantastic gymnast!

The FIG refuses to give out perfect 10's anymore, even in the execution score in our current scoring system.

Dragulescu could've won both Athens & Beijing vault finals if he only did well on the second vaults. Very unlucky on both situations. He got the highest scores on both first vaults...2004 and 2008!

So where's the freaking deduction on Drag's first vault? Even his knees are within the width of his shoulders. If anything during that quadrennium should have gotten a ten, it was that.

I would agree with a 9.9 only because Dragelescue's toes werent pointed. Plus his arms bent when he blocked off the horse.

dont put Defferr down. Actually i question also the judges why Dragulescu posted a 9.9 score where it where perfectly executed and the landing was superb. But it was his second vault that pull him down resulting the scores to be low in average. So Defferr got the 1st position.

xuarxu... it kind of irritates me, too. I don't remember for sure, but I believe he did not once try to qualify for a vault final. However, his vaults aren't "comparatively easy". He does a true Tsuk (not a Kas) meaning he does as much as an extra 1/2 twist compared to a Kas-1.5. That's a REALLY hard vault, and I don't think anyone else has done that before or after.
