There are 12 X 600W Hps lamps = 7200W - This is nowhere near enough to flip someone's lid at the power company, and if we look at how much heat this generates... About 25% (MAX) of the power cunsumed by a HPS lamp, is converted to heat, therefore, 1800W is converted to heat, which is LESS than a 2 bar electric fire!
Heat and power consumption aren't your enemy... telling people what you're doing is what's gonna get you locked up!

150 watt is pretty low, you really should see what your particular plants need and what they are actually getting, but I doubt you'll be gettingenough from 150 watt HPS...

@DrHerbz .... do not look at the pistils, that is the best way to harvest at the wrong time... You need to read the trichomes, if your strain is mostly sativa you harvest when most trichomes have turned milky white from clear and maby even a few are turning amber, this acentuates the heady high of sativas.... if you are growing indica dominant strains then you should wait for about 75% of the trichomes to turn fully abber with only 25% milky white, this will accentuate the sedative indica.
@WestCoastIrk depends on the high you are looking for. simply put you can make it more sativa by cutting the girls early and more indica but cutting them late. most people usually do it around 50/50..
thats a super sick setup. i have some jack herer outside and its like just now starting to show signs of flowering. I got some clones about 2 months ago, master kush and that jack, the master kush blew up and stacked nugget hard but jack is slackin.
I wonder what kind of wattage a room like this eats up. 12, 1000w HPS lamps, a decent size pump for irrigation, has to be hard to hide on the power bill without a large generator.
@CaptainBeerman1098 our utility bills were nuts. with more elec for lights & extra airconditioning we looked for options. we did our last two grows using induction lights. If you haven't heard of them theres a youtube video or go to the inda-gro site and ck out user pix. We've used MH/HPS CFL, T5 & LED. We use induction as our primary lights with 1 100 watter for clone/veg & 2 100 watt for bud in a 30x30 tent. high par peaks @ 350 & 700 nm with little heat for a fraction of the watts. peace
therefore fatter, heavier buds. The other advantages of doing it this way are that you're harvesting every 2 weeks instead of every 8. You can take it to whatever level you like man, I was putting a new girl in every day and pulling one out every day. Same with my vegetative box, one new clone in and I moved one to 12/12 every day. I spent 10 minutes a day in the room which was all it took to take a clone, check the nutes and trim the girl that came out. Never had to spend a weekend trimming...
Nice Man.... One suggestion though. If you mixed it up a bit and had 3 or 4 or more staggered smaller lots going at once you'd get a better yield over the same time period. If a plant takes 8 weeks from the start of 12/12 and you have say 40 plants, you can put 10 in every 2 weeks. This will mean that you're not wasting so many lumens by lighting up the walls and floor at the start of the cycle and also that each plant will not be as crowded as it matures so it'll be getting more lumens and....

WEEK I counted 12 1000watt lights thats 12000 watts (12 kilowatts) every hour for 3 months do the math at 9 cents a kilowatt in just light, now add the fans/ac/heat/exhaust. he probably got hmm 12-16 oz a plant yes nice but how many plants under 12 kilowatts 24-32 plants hahah week i can get 6 plants under 500 watts to produce more than 9 to 10 oz a plant. useing no ac one allocating fan
6 inch vent fan and no heat. only useing dinagrow and lifelightspinners. and veg under 300 watts 3 weeks

all you need is a 8 inch carbon filter about 2 feet long. and a 8 inch fan (exhaust), a intake thats bigger or the same size no fan assist, on 6x6 area with a 600 watt spinner,

no co2 machine, no a/c unless your ambiant temp is higher than 82 witch i live in bay area so it dose not, and an ocliating fan, dina grow. grow.bloom.protek thats it.
@theurbanretard once you have that then ill teach you how to trick the plant into thinking it has 8/10+ main colas insted of one. so the plant grows not just one big cola but menny then off thos you get smaller colas, not small buds, big buds, but compared to the main colas. this is some of the stuff you need to learn about before you pick up a trade, yes growing a live organism is a trade that takes years to learn.

@fatmanimpreza 3 weeks is a long ass flush man.... i use flushing agents like florakleen and final phase and 5-7 days is all you need to clear the nutrients out.... if your flushing for 3 weeks your hurting your yield pretty fat man

@theurbanretard not the hairs the seed pocket. and resin glands cant grow on eachother and when there is a small seed pocket, the seed isnt in the pocket. thats where the resin glans grow. so if those are being produced after week 3 the resin that grows off that ovium is going to be permuture. end of story.

Agreed, something Ive been thinkin about.. how does mass production get away with it? the system looks like an NFT system which needs to be raised so that the nutrients can travel from one end to the other, at a slant. and his reservoirs are probably below the table.
