Thanks for posting this. I too remember seeing this as a kid on Disney during one of the free preview weeks (my parents were too cheap to get more than basic cable back then). I remember seeing A Christmas Story a few years later and realizing that it was the same narration and characters. I only saw it once as a kid and spent most of my youth searching Eagle Video and Blockbuster for this on tape. So thanks, it means a lot that you preserved this for all the internet to enjoy.
Thanks for posting this! I watched this with my dad when I was a kid and he was a real Jean Shepherd nut. I yearned for a family vacation full of disasters like this one! And I can't wait until I can do the same for my kids! :)
I remember when this aired on Disney Channel years ago. I wish Disney would release this rare and obscured movie onto DVD or some digital video format.
Awesome! I remember seeing this on the Disney Channel many years ago. I grew up in Michigan,so this I can totaly relate to this. Reminds me a little bit of the vactions we used to take to Traverse City every summer for many years.
I've said this before, but nobody could spin a tale like Shep. This brings back every trip we ever took from Jersey to Pennsylvania or Massachussetts. By then, the '70s, super-highways had pretty much made car sickness a thing of the past, except for Taffy, our dog who rarely made trips with us for that very reason.

@StickyMike I think this movie is actually pretty boring.
