While I was watching this I got shocked. I didn't know I was this obsessed with L. I didn't realize I was already sitting like him, eating candy and having my thumb on my lip. I'm even wearing blue jeans and a long sleeved white shirt! o_o
hmm...I'd probably cosplay as a female L because I look to girly to be a guy...all I need is the hair and the shirt (hair might be a problem, but I'm used to wigs)
Our county fair is coming from October 29 - November 5th I think. I'm going to cosplay as L on Halloween! :D I just need a wig now and do I need bobby pins to make it stay in place on rides?
me and my friend cosplay every thursday at school for anime club. yesterday we did l(me) and light (we're both girls haha) and misa and ryuk(not really close at all we called he ryuka and all she had was a apple.) it was fun i made the handcuffs and everything. we even posed for a pic from the front of one f the mangas.
The good news is that my nickname is white girl... So the pale part is pretty much covered, all I need to do is get my wig from the mailbox and find out how to hide my naturally rosy red cheeks
...I could probably just cut my hair messilly and dye it black, then dress like I normally would. I sat like L during school once, but I had to sit normal in one class due to the issue of "really tall chairs with only the seat and the chair-legs"... It was more fun in Spanish because the teacher just said "Sit down please!" in Spanish!

I am cosplaying as L for Anime Iowa this year. And this tips are definitely gonna help. Another thing with L's voice is it is pretty much void of emotion (very emotionless).

I think it's pretty easy to get the cosplay together, but the only thing is, every long-sleeved white t-shirt I find is always see-through (big disadvantage since I am a girl). Haha. xD
@nicexcar Im half black and do death note cosplay. all i do is put on really white halloween make up then put on a light powder or anything else to add a tiny bit of color so your not completely white. Hope this helped :)
Wigs work fine too. I might just go for the cheapest one that looks similer to L's hair. (Or Near since a friend thinks Near would be cool or Matt since Matt seems simple enough)

Well, you CAN get wax for your hair (Not actual wax is use for molding) but hair wax. AND your hair has to be long. They show you how long in one of the episodes.

Yeah..if your trying anime L then some people would make it spikey... but in the movie his hair is only messy, like he just woke up, But I don't want to put all the hair gels and hairspray just trying to make it spike up...I'm propably just going to make it look messy...because putting gels just make it look too obvious... it will look a little wierd, seeing a blond L. but i would fuss about it too much, u could get a wig if u really wanted too, or you could always cosplay as mello.
Eyeliner works wonders. BUT, you need to know how to apply it correctly. Try putting some on, then smudging it enough to make it look like it's natural. Keep applying the eyeliner and smudging until it's dark enough to look like L's. DO NOT PUT SO MUCH ON THAT YOU LOOK LIKE A RACOON. I've seen WAY too many racoon Ls. Don't do it. Oh, and, if you're a girl, there's no need to apply eyeliner to your top eyelid; it ruins the affect of "bags" under you eyes~ Message me if you'd like any more help!
NUUUUU D8 Don't. Use. Baby powder. I saw an L cosplayer do that, and he looked. Absolutely. Terrible. o_o A light foundation would work better. Not too light, or it'll only have the same effect as the baby powder.

I think I can pull L off pretty well.After watching Death Note,I find myself doing things like L soemtimes,like sitting and walking like him.I just need to get the basic stuff,a friend to dress as Light and we're set.And of course Ryuk and a death note :)
Actually, contrary to belief, it's easier to cosplay as Light. Just dress in a brown suit, buy a brown wig, and carry a Death Note. Don't forget to smile creepily and talk to yourself. ... Unless you have a friend dressed as Ryuk, don't let anyone touch the Death Note. =/
To do an accurate & eye-catching cosplay, you can't just don a white long-sleeve shirt and jeans...you have to pay attention to details. Otherwise, you'll just look like one of the many terrible L wannabees I see at cons every year. For example, pay attention to the neckline & sleeve length. For makeup, try adding a little brown or blue to make the bags look more realistic.
PLEASE put some decent effort into it, people. You owe it to the great and wonderful L.
one thing is to be in character...Walk like L, carry yourself like L. (I'd suggest to look at the live action cuz i kinda liked it)
my friend used hand cuffs with their cosplay, and ate candy...you should eat candy like him too.hold EVERYTHING dainty or it has germs. L goes around barefoot, but i dont think i could handle that lol...so maybe skin color dance slippers might help for outside. OH, and dont just put dark black circles, that just looks like a black eye.
I went as L to Kumoricon last year, and I got TONS of compliments and love from other cosplayers because I did all those things (minus the slippers, because I'm okay with bare feet. xD ) In fact, I barely had to eat the whole con because people kept giving me candy and food. I'm also very fair skinned, so I was pale like L, too. I didn't wear a wig, but styled my own hair. I think it turned out well, as did the many people who stopped to compliment me, but I still could have done better.

I used got2b products for meh hair. the strongest stuff too... the spray... the glue... the cement... the shiner <3... there's lots of stuff but i can't name the all :/
For spiky hair you can use glue. My teacher told me this cause most glue is washable so it comes out easy. And to get the darkness of the eyes take eyeliner and put it on normal then smear it so it looks normal
i dont really it matters about the voice i mean other cosplays they sound the same so dont worry bout it b urself and while cosplaying thats the way i c it
If you don't mind me saying so, there's a much easier way to do your hair like Lawliet's without a wig. So long as you have the hair length and color it's simple. A basic left side-sweep will do. From there, tease it, so it gets fluffy, looks messy, and moves freely, but stays where you desire. Once you do this all over, flatten it slightly. Then, add soft hair wax to the roots for the lightly spiked look. Voila.. Lawliet-kun! :D

I have a suggestion for L's hair. I had trouble with his hair a lot. I just bought a Sasuke wig and put a few of its side bangs to the front and cut them slightly, to the point of looking like L's. Put some of its skipes in the back down andskipe a few more up top. And... Wala! L wig! If the wig has hinds of blue in them, just put a few drops of black hair dye in it, that should work.
you know in anime they really wouldnt have there hair like that. like L's spikes are just to show his hair is crazy. so you probably just need to dye it black and rub your hair with your hands.
oh yes oops but that's a bit obvious for Death Note/L fans, Oh yeah if your convention strictly says to wear shoes wear them but smash down the heels so they're like slip ons. ^_^;

Use hairspray. Makes ur hair way less flexible afterwards but it WORKS LIKE A CHARM! I reccomend aussie extreme hold fast drying hair spray.

I think I can pull L off pretty well.After watching Death Note,I find myself doing things like L soemtimes,like sitting and walking like him.I just need to get the basic stuff,a friend to dress as Light and we're set.And of course Ryuk and a death note :)

Actually, contrary to belief, it's easier to cosplay as Light. Just dress in a brown suit, buy a brown wig, and carry a Death Note. Don't forget to smile creepily and talk to yourself. ... Unless you have a friend dressed as Ryuk, don't let anyone touch the Death Note. =/

A MESSAGE TO ALL L COSPLAYERS:
To do an accurate & eye-catching cosplay, you can't just don a white long-sleeve shirt and jeans...you have to pay attention to details. Otherwise, you'll just look like one of the many terrible L wannabees I see at cons every year. For example, pay attention to the neckline & sleeve length. For makeup, try adding a little brown or blue to make the bags look more realistic.
PLEASE put some decent effort into it, people. You owe it to the great and wonderful L.

one thing is to be in character...Walk like L, carry yourself like L. (I'd suggest to look at the live action cuz i kinda liked it)
my friend used hand cuffs with their cosplay, and ate candy...you should eat candy like him too.hold EVERYTHING dainty or it has germs. L goes around barefoot, but i dont think i could handle that lol...so maybe skin color dance slippers might help for outside. OH, and dont just put dark black circles, that just looks like a black eye.

I went as L to Kumoricon last year, and I got TONS of compliments and love from other cosplayers because I did all those things (minus the slippers, because I'm okay with bare feet. xD ) In fact, I barely had to eat the whole con because people kept giving me candy and food. I'm also very fair skinned, so I was pale like L, too. I didn't wear a wig, but styled my own hair. I think it turned out well, as did the many people who stopped to compliment me, but I still could have done better.

For spiky hair you can use glue. My teacher told me this cause most glue is washable so it comes out easy. And to get the darkness of the eyes take eyeliner and put it on normal then smear it so it looks normal

If you don't mind me saying so, there's a much easier way to do your hair like Lawliet's without a wig. So long as you have the hair length and color it's simple. A basic left side-sweep will do. From there, tease it, so it gets fluffy, looks messy, and moves freely, but stays where you desire. Once you do this all over, flatten it slightly. Then, add soft hair wax to the roots for the lightly spiked look. Voila.. Lawliet-kun! :D

I have a suggestion for L's hair. I had trouble with his hair a lot. I just bought a Sasuke wig and put a few of its side bangs to the front and cut them slightly, to the point of looking like L's. Put some of its skipes in the back down andskipe a few more up top. And... Wala! L wig! If the wig has hinds of blue in them, just put a few drops of black hair dye in it, that should work.

you know in anime they really wouldnt have there hair like that. like L's spikes are just to show his hair is crazy. so you probably just need to dye it black and rub your hair with your hands.
