Man... I heard this song on WFUV in June.... have since moved to Philadelphia, but I could never, ever forget how great of a radio station WFUV is. And needless to say, I miss new orleans. RIP benny spellman
@weowtimmmy Thanks for sharing your sentiments. It is so cool that Benny can still be remembered anytime just by playing one of his songs. He was great guy.
@1blastman I have been contacted by a few bands who play small gigs not only here in New Orleans but from as far away as Great Britain who hear the songs I post for the first time and have told me they learn them and use them in their "sets". As for this song, you are correct. "Fortune Teller" and "Lipstick Traces" are great but this song really grabs your attention and has a very important message. RIP Mr. Spellman.
This song was playing on Pandora. I have never heard anything so profound.
Everyone should listen to this, do you think there would be such a thing as terrorism, murder, corporate greed, ridiculous arguments, family feuds, etc. etc. etc if everyone realized just one thing: "That life is too short to suffer, for all the things we should get enough of, let's do what's right today."

This song needs a revival - it's so relevant to today and should be played in Benny's memory. It sucked the air right out of my lungs...........

@libertas8 For whatever reason, we can't seem to do things the simple way. All it takes is one a-hole and then comes the chain reaction.
