  • Boy's this looks great.

Is there any way you can convert this into 1080p or 720p?

  • Very curious ... if you were to shoot a feature film on a limited budget ... would it be better to shoot on super16 or something like the 7d/t2i/red one? I own a hv20 and though it gives stunning images, it'll always have that very 'videoy' quality to it no matter how you light it or how much cc you do.

  • @sonne5 t2i

  • This was great, man!

  • looks interesting. nice visual shots...

  • Beautiful

  • I notice there are only half body shots. Is it hard to zoom out with 16 mm film?

  • this is great! congratulations!

  • awesome image! which cam did u use?

  • Thanks, we used an Arri SR2

  • This looks very promising, and the visual style is jawdropping!

  • What are the costs of using 16mm film stock? The price per second of film stock and the price per second to develop? Thanks

  • Prices vary depending on type of stock and length of film (this is measured in feet) which usually come in ether 100 ft. or 400 ft. roles.

Processing varies, depending on how you chose to process (skip bleach, push, pull ect.) and if you decide to get it scanned.

Other than that the best way to find out the specifics is to talk to a Kodak representative and to talk to your local motion picture lab.

p.s. I was able to make a 15 min short for under $150

  • From what I've sen on the net, 16mm film in 100ft cans is, on average, $40. Is that about right?

  • @thegoosebrain Yes before tax. Though 100ft gets you about 3 minutes of shooting. So make it count.

  • I liked the opening sequences.

  • awesome

  • I love the look of this film. I also like how you get in tight on your shots, very well done!

So, you used the Vision 2 100 and 200 stocks outside as well as inside? Since it's a tungsten balanced film I assume you used an 85 filter with a 64 iso? May I ask what type of super 16mm camera you used to get this exceptional look?

  • Thank you for the comments. We used an SR2, and I used some 100ASA at night. (yes I am crazy, and hate grain!) I used an 85 filter and an 82A. All of it was 3200k balanced film

  • no way! grain is beautiful, dood.

  • what magic bullet effect did you use??

  • Excellent Job! What lenses did you use?

  • Its been awhile now. I used 1 zoom and couple of f1.4 primes. Dont remember the specs now. but everything was shot with Vision 2 100ISO and 200ISO film. This was only a SD transfer too. In HD or projected it looks magnificent.

  • Not really enough there to even make a judgement. Seems decent. And he was wise enough to shoot film, instead of bowing down to digi-kiddy conformity. I would like to see more.

  • What setting you use to get that quality in you tube videos? (software, compression, format) any info would be so helpful

  • what was the films ISO?

  • I shot it on 7212 and 7217 on an Arri SR2. We did a SD transfer, and I guarantee the footage would look 10x better when we get the chance to do an 1080p transfer in the future.

  • Looks promising. Hope it becomes a full film if it hasn't yet.

  • stunning imagery!

  • That looks like a great film! Very Cool.

  • Cool.
