Thanks, Shon. :) Well, it really depends on the song or the musical piece. It's all very subjective based on a person's musical experience, knowledge, skill, sight-reading ability and talent. I can take "Nature Boy" as an example: I'm quite familiar with the song because it's a Celine song. This song was not a very hard song to play and think I was able to play it the first time through. Practicing was to polish it up and make it performance-ready. :)
