Kate Winslet should win an Oscar for this film ! Kate Winslet is always and forever greatest actress of our time . Waiting her 2nd oscar for Carnage this year.Cant wait to see it on 16 december , 2011
WHY oh WHY did they have to use this fucking godaweful Hollywood voice over for such a beautiful, British film?? What were they thinking of?? Terminator??
MM update I lost my grandmother at the end of may and all she did before she went was cry for her mother. It broke my heart to see her in such a state. A very intelligent women in her younger days who bore 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren she had a fullfilled life right up until this disease struck. I miss her but sometimes wish I had never seen her go the way she went. I wish I never go that way too its my greatest fear. Please donate to local alzheimers charities.
Imagine combatting this illness. Our governments should put more money into mental health imo. My grandmother has a form of alzheimers the poor soul never recognized me just sat and cried. I want to remember my gran for who she was not someone who is in effect losing her soul going backwards losing all memories and how to do the simple things. I feel for anyone who has to live with this debilitating disease.
@CocaineHabbit Nicole Kidman is a good actress and I like most of her movies. However since she sacrificed her facial expression on the altar of youth her play can't by no means be described as great anymore. Sad but true.
This movie had me crying from beginning to end. It was so incredibly good. Judi Dench did an incredible job playing Iris Murdoch as a woman with alzheimers. Of course Judi Dench is always an incredible actress.
I feel so proud of my name Iris :')

I have never been so sad about a film, till I have looked "Iris" !
It's very sad, that nobody knows this film here in germany.
Because i LOVE this film.
He shows us so much emotions.
It's so realistic.
I think this film is one of the best, I've ever seen!
