@mmnkdphi : its about difficult life in Bombay city ...hard to translate, ....bt its like , "It's hard to live here my heart" , haha something like that :)
great song . the mukhda is a straight lift from " my darling clementine" the rest is ofcourse OP's . That means the rhythm of the song is also a straight lift. The heart of the song is yet the mukhda. Iam a diehard fan of OPN. But facts are facts and ought to be admitted. THANKS junkers1980
@junkers1980 ... truly u said it....no one can ever overtake this great comedian, who for the betterment of others....helped others economically but died in a very poor state,he even did some movies to pay his loans...great actor, great comedian n also a great human...!!
well gr8 to know that he took permission but one thing more......did RD Burman take any pemission from Elvis Presley before akin the song "tera mujhse pehle ka naat koi".what ever you say, can you justify Bappi Lahiri.....and man where the hell the creativity has vanished from this country.....why permission the americans dont copy us atleast....so why us....
oh gr8 so u must be havin a lot of music knowlegde.with due regards to u and respectn ur music knowledge even m an upcomin singer songwriter tryn har in music i wanna delete this plagiarism word from the IMI..so id be happy if u join me....
yes sir each and every music dirctor has copied some or the othr music but that limits all within INDIA, not even Pakistani musicians copy.......(leave out the Americans or the British)
yes sir...i agree.anu malik, pritam and as u sd rejesh roshan and the like are just shameless creatures....well thnx for ur comments...LONG LIVE THE MUSIC OF INDIA and more than it the HONESTY OF INDIA..
Once while travelling in a Mumbai local train, I saw this middle aged man playing the mouth organ on the tune of a hindi song. He didnt beg but I think he took what people gave. I noticed, no 1 gave him anything. I really liked what he was playin & gave him Rs. 5 as appreciation. To my absolute shock this man bows to me n says, " Thank u Sir, this 1 is for u". He then played this tune for 2 min standing in front of me. He got off the next station. The song seemed to depict his life in Bombay.
oh, calm down with those accusations dreadadiplomat, ya jerkface! :-) If you had bothered to do a little quick research (aka web searching), you'd see that the song wasn't an EXACT copy as you're suggesting -- the writer was inspired by Clementine, but to say it's the same tune is hogwash -- people just have to search for clementine on youtube and they'll hear the differences....
1st, I didn't realize I was not calm and 2nd It's all inspired isn't it? So easy to be inspired to change the language and keep the rhythm. What an easy excuse. I recognize good bollywood music/movies, but when movies ranging from 'Overboard' to 'Rat Race" and music ranging from 'Cotton Eyed Joe' to Korean or Turkish marching songs are merely inspired, then it's a lil too much. I mean even the name Bollywood is inspired from Hollywood
i meant no offense by 'calm down'...that was just tongue-in-cheek, so no hard feelings :) most art/music/lit/etc can probably be traced back to some previous work of art/music/lit that inspired it, but i agree in general that bollywood certainly needs more originality...besides, the times that it has been fairly original have been received well -- think of flix like lagaan, munna bhai, etc. PS this explanation itself was partly inspired by the south park ep 'simpsons already did it'! ;)
@dreadadiplomat ....very well said. a lot is copy. but i and many others still enjoy it. surely there is stuff that is original. After all we have a 5000 year old history.
This song was copied(inspired) :P from the original song Oh My Darling, Clementine. I love both songs
