The song is a traditional Christmas carol, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and is sung by Maddy Prior a veteran British folk singer, accompanied by the Carnival Band. I've loved this version ever since hearing it on a local radio classic rock show by Eric Montford. The CD is called 'A Tapestry of Carols' and is worth every penny!
