Watch it, and think about it as if the firefly fam are the Rebel Alliance, and the Sheriff is Darth Vader with his police force backing him as the Empire, and he hire's bounty hunters. What brought the idea to my attention was the scene where Spaulding, Otis, and Baby arrive at Charlie's and get the same kind of welcome Han and the gang did at cloud city, then Charlie betrays them just as Lando did Han.

In fact i really loved the 2 films. House of 1000 Corpses was a really good tribute to old horror classics with weird effects, crazy characters and a awesome ambiance..I love the "WTF?" tone that goes along with it. The Devil rejects is a sequel but they're like two differents films, this one is a great road trip into Texas with the same psycho familly of Rednecks but you get to like them in a strange way... The ending is just a masterpiece and the soundtrack is mind blowing.

Rob Zombie reminds me of Wes Craven, who on TV said he doesn't know what in his youth could point to his career in horror and say without doubt, that inspired it!

What I mean is, Rob Zombie has no talent in the film industry, and his only valley and peak was The Devil's Rejects, while Craven has many valleys like Scream, Last House on the Left, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Red Eye, The Serpent and the Rainbow and The Hills Have Eyes. Yes, he has made some bad films, but overall, Craven is waaay better at filmmaking than Zombie IMVHO.
@BuddhaZenMind I would disagree. I'd argue that the story is more about the fact that everyone is the villain. Sheriff Wydell starts with the right intentions but becomes corrupt by vengeance.
Otis' story is the exact opposite, "You had to come all fuckin' big stick, walkin' tall, like a big fuckin' hero. Got yourself to blame, hero. Look at you now, hero, you're gonna fuckin' bleed to death!" Otis is not a hero until the last 3 minutes of this film when he realizes the things he has done.

This movie is a masterpiece. I love how Rob puts the unexpected in his films, and I love how he goes to the extreme in a sadistic/rapist/weird kind of way. It also has a great ending, and majority of films in the 2000's have stupid endings, and it will just make the whole movie suck. This movie though is great from beginning to end, and I am happy that it's not just a cli'che hollywood film with a stupid ending. I give props to Rob for making great movies, and great music :) \m/

Going through what he had put his victims through, we can see Otis feeling the guilt of murdering 1,000 people. The genius in this is that the movie is ALL about being over the top, but the one part that is truly subtle is what crosses the line from mindless horror to what could be considered good cinema. Those who don't catch this miss the whole film.

The Lack of understanding (or humane recognition) for something provides risk for personal bias and eventual breeding grounds for hate.
House of 1000 corpses and The Devil's Rejects contrast perfectly and mirror these ideologies.

This movie is fantastic, Rob Zombie is a genius in everything he does. Remember if you haven't seen this movie yet watch House of 1000 Corpses first, this is the sequel ;)

Dude. what the hell are you guys talking about Otis feeling guilty at the end? you only say that because thats what you would LIKE to think in order to make it a good movie you have to add all this sentimental bullshit. yeah, he looks pretty sad and so do Baby and Spaulding, but could that possibly be because THEY'RE ABOUT TO FUCKING DIE??? they are 3 badly wounded criminals driving towards 10-15(estimated guess) police while shooting, how could you suppose this will turn out?

Wait, I like some of those Wes Craven films mentioned as lack-luster affairs. Last House on the Left is classic, along with I Spit On Your Grave, a film Roger Ebert declared the WORST FILM EVER. Now, you just have to see it!

People, what is that song called at the end when Tiny walks into his burning house? It's like a surreal kinda song, i can't explain it. I don't think it's on the soundtrack for some reason, probably because it's not a country kinda song.

I respect Wes Craven, but he doesn't always come up with the BEST horror films. For every director, writer, there will be peaks and valleys

OK, I apologize. What I mean is, Rob Zombie has no talent in the film industry, and his only valley and peak was The Devil's Rejects, while Craven has many valleys like Scream, Last House on the Left, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Red Eye, The Serpent and the Rainbow and The Hills Have Eyes. Yes, he has made some bad films, but overall, Craven is waaay better at filmmaking than Zombie IMVHO.

@BuddhaZenMind I would disagree. I'd argue that the story is more about the fact that everyone is the villain. Sheriff Wydell starts with the right intentions but becomes corrupt by vengeance.
Otis' story is the exact opposite, "You had to come all fuckin' big stick, walkin' tall, like a big fuckin' hero. Got yourself to blame, hero. Look at you now, hero, you're gonna fuckin' bleed to death!" Otis is not a hero until the last 3 minutes of this film when he realizes the things he has done.

@lJollyReaperl Yeah, I'm aware that Wydell is a good but a hard ass guy, but was driven to madness by the murder of his brother, but I didn't realise Otis was feeling guilty at the end. I thought he was still stoned and traumatised from his ordeal with Wydell.....interesting, thanks.

This movie is a masterpiece. I love how Rob puts the unexpected in his films, and I love how he goes to the extreme in a sadistic/rapist/weird kind of way. It also has a great ending, and majority of films in the 2000's have stupid endings, and it will just make the whole movie suck. This movie though is great from beginning to end, and I am happy that it's not just a cli'che hollywood film with a stupid ending. I give props to Rob for making great movies, and great music :) \m/

@BrunetteBabe1005 I wouldn't go so far as to call it a masterpiece, per sé, but the final driving scene really is what makes this movie great. Going through what he had put his victims through, we can see Otis feeling the guilt of murdering 1,000 people. The genius in this is that the movie is ALL about being over the top, but the one part that is truly subtle is what crosses the line from mindless horror to what could be considered good cinema. Those who don't catch this miss the whole film.
