  • This track has a very Shenmue-like vide to it I feel... It's beautiful.

Ah Sega you and your stunning sound tracks!

  • This is one of the greatest games ever...more people need to be exposed to this legend

  • I love the 5/4

  • Great Game should of been a Sequel

  • They put so much work into this music...

Into all of the music of this game...

Usually I determine that by, obviously, how good the music is, but also by how long it is until the music loops. They really spent some time on these...

  • Videogame music and other soundtracks are a little more varied because they are trying to provoke emotion with scene they are going with. Regular music is trying to just get you to buy it, but there are still some who make good music. I dunno I guess its because I can play several instruments that I can appreciate instrumental music more than I can one with a singer screaming into a microphone. Still Like a I said good music is still made today though most of it is soundtrack music.

  • @YellowKeaton That's why I like soundtracks, both those with lyrics and those without, because they have more variety rather than thinking 'this sells, so this I will make'

  • this music it speaks for itself like your drifting millions of miles away in space but you just cant find your way back no matter how hard you try but you never give up and keep trying soory if this post is annoying to some people but this music just makes me feel a bit like that

  • This, is one of the best games I've ever played. I love the story, the characters, the music.... The game itself.

  • it brings me back....to when I was playing the game.....i defeated the game....and now I wish I didnt.

  • *sigh* You know a song is great when it can bring a tear to your eye just from the first three notes.

Honestly that scene in the Ruins of Ice + this music...first time I ever cried from a video game.

  • ...Great Post..Luv this one ... from that Part, ..where "tha Kid" approaches .."Vyse" ..in "The Sewers" Unforgettable..

  • what is arcadia exactly??? if there are moons, that suggest that their world is a mass with gravity, so why are all the land masses floating? do the land masses orbit the dark land mass beneath known as deep sky too in conjunction with the moons?? there is a sun that this whole world revolves around right???? and whats with the dark rift?? something created by the theoretical black moon?

sry, as an astronomy nerd, this bugs me just a little bit, but i love the game anyway. :)

  • @ziqi92 It's like final fantasy, not final reality. Asurd for absurd's sake ?! lol

  • @ziqi92 But that fact that there are jewels that can spawn giant monsters doesn't make you think at all lol

  • sad.. :( *remembers the purple gigas* T_T

  • Thanks for posting. This is really beautiful.

  • best track of SOA very emotional 5/5*

  • Beautiful, yet sad :) Reminds me of Fina and Marco

  • I totally agree

  • Yay for Skies of Arcadia!

I loved this song, but I never heard it in its full duration very much. Thank you for giving me the chance now.

  • I am planing to write to sega about making a sequal..I spent months designing a story to follow up the previous game. I really want to have new/old characters and a whole new world, (a world on the other side of the "bottom" of Arcadia) Wish me luck!

  • You include anything about the possible Black Moon (and its civilization)?

  • Yes, the female "main character" is from a civilization from the black moon that was wiped from existence for the use of a weapon.

  • Wrong. She's a Silvite from the Silver Moon Civilization.

  • He's talking about a sequal story he's considered sending to Sega.

  • um black moon will provoke many racial topic.

    im just saying

change it to...dark moon. Obsidian moon.

  • lol

Only idiots will be provoked by something the name Black Moon, Black civilization, or Bkack Gigas. Just ignore them.

And Dark and Obsidian aren't colors.

  • you'd be surprised my friend. race is a big issue on the nets. after all the nets are SERIUZ BIZNESS.

*is tempted to point out that silver is not a color but a metal on the periodic table but is not going to*

  • The nets is just a weird phenomena where people take things too seriously and trolls prosper off of it. I just ignore them.

Silver isn't just a metal, but whether it's a true color or not is up for debate. It's is basically shiny, reflective grey.

  • If Viewtiful Joe 2 can get away with calling the bad guy "The Black Lord of the Gedow" surely this is no big deal.

  • and if F-zero's White Land race track cant get by without a few racist comments then WTF

  • Silver is a metal, but it's also technically a color. That liquid-like, white-metal sort of color.

  • Black moon and black gigas are no problem, but "black civilization" in particular is a bit iffy.

The quite possibly could be a dark moon though. In that special move (why can't I remember the name), Ramirez says "sword of the dark moon".

  • Only people who'd complain are ignorant dummies. Just ignore them, they are just an overly vocal minority.

The move is "Silver Eclipse". Though I think this "dark moon" is kinda ambiguous. It'd be odd to actually have a "Dark Moon" since dark isn't a color, so I assume he's referring to one of the known moons.

  • There's a discovery in the Rift where you find a discovery, it's a shard of black moonstone. It's rumored that the Rift was made when the Black Moon was destroyed (for whatever reason)

  • @metaXzero

Nah, a Dark Moon would be a "new moon" like we see once every 28 days lol, or maybe an eclipsed moon.

  • Mhmm, and then there is the dark moon stone found in the rift.

  • Don't forget Eclipse Point. Something is Eclipsing the Purple Moon from an angle... what angle? The general position of the dark rift.

  • @AlphaOrigin

I did forget about that lol

  • @jrockerkei

I'd thought that the black land masses were the just volcanic rock from the planet.

If the moons have crystals, why not the planet?

  • hell no xD

  • Good luck. Sega should release skies of arcadia 2.

  • i believe they are, might be a rumor tho, google it

  • companies don't accept those due to lawsuits.

  • I'm just going to write it, no lawsuit on trying to land a job is there? ^_^

  • None but most don't bother to read it. Of course, I've also read stories about comic book artist getting hired on such scripts(even though they couldn't use the script itself). Simply to show what a person is capable of. It'll have to look something like a movie script though. You should download one of those unused scripts floating around to see the style they use(if you even want to submit it).

  • Sega has not forgotten about Skies of Arcadia. Vyse, Aika, and Fina made a cameo in Valkyria Chronicles.

It's hard to top something like this, but in the hands of a good writer, it's possible.

  • I think I can top it, played a little Valkyria Chronicles and thought of some new ideas.

  • Love this song

    Sniff!!!

  • OMG I love this song when it plays for Fina after Ramirez tells her what really happened with the rains....it's so emotional.

I adore Skies Of Arcadia, it'll never leave my heart

  • Agreed. That part was so sad, and Skies of Arcadia owns Final Fantasy!

  • This is one of my favorite songs in the game. Skies of Arcadia is my most favorite RPG ever and one of my most favorite Sega games. They NEED to make a sequel.

  • This song makes my hair stand up on my back

  • watch?v=aPZoRUinMtM

  • ;_;

  • I wish this game were more popular if only for the chance that parts of the score (or the whole score) would be re-released either in full orchestration (for the synthed parts) or in better quality audio than was placed on the OST release. The final scene and End Credits were probably the only tracks that sounded as good as they deserved on the CD.

  • That moment when he´s all alone... it´s probably one of the sadest in the game. I still remember the whole thing. The music actually talks in a way here. It´s so fantastic what Yutaka and Minobe did. There should be more of this kind of music... don´t you think?

  • Agreed, popular music has no feeling or soul. Videogame music is so much more expressive and varied. These composers are simply outstanding. I mean, just listen to the melodies in Castlevania. Where can you find that in the more popular genres? You cant. After listening to videogame music, even Joe Satriani seems predictable and boring.

  • I absolutely agree, with both of you!

  • @MariusSoma

After listening to any decent music, Joe Satriani seems predictable and boring.

  • @FinalHype A game with great music, awesome story...I have no words to express the perfection of skies of arcadia, surely the greates rpg ever!!! I have to say many thanks to sega for making such good games...

  • T_T Thank you...
