Idiots. When this movie was released the democraitc party led the conservative movement. Bob was taking at shot at the fools who support conservative dogma: communist witchhunts, purges, war profiteers, segregation and dixiecrats. Bob had good reason, many of his friends were targeted by the redbaiting witch hunts that inflicted hollywood. Some of his friends lost jobs and careers. 60 years later and conservatism is still alive having found a new home with the republican party.
