Cool song, much better without the cheesy narration that plays over this song in the opening credits. Terrible movie, still like it better than Freddy vs. Jason, though. I love 80's slasher films and that's what i wanted in FVJ but I was two decades too late.
bring back all the writers and survivors together!! that way the friday 13th tradition comes back alive , but better than the last and the one before it.
@chromewells i think they should go back and pick up with part 8 some how and bring it back to Tommy Jarvis from part 6... maybe set in modern day with tommy in his 40s and with children. ignore the reboot, jason goes to hell, jason x and all that other crap that watered down the series.

Not everybody fits into their generation. And you gotta learn that.
Because I too, do not like my generation, sorry. I've grasped on more to 80s/90s music, I think they gave a better sound to it.
If you have a problem with it so be it. But I am so sick of people who grew up in the 80s being real dicks to the kids that like the 80s, you people can be real overly protective.
@Struckworld What part of my com suggests I have problems with anything. I think (as you already allude) you have something internal; kind of resinate. It's probably more your problem than those growing up in 80s/90s.
The way you're tired of them, possibly could this be flipped, and they're tired of young people trapping-off about somethings they never lived. I don't see it as "overly protective" (though that's funny), I feel young kids re-talk and re-live way too much. Annoying after a while.
@Struckworld lol. yeah in my experience (on & offline) those my age and those even older all congratulate those youngsters showing interest to all things old. I guess it depends on the person. I thought it's cool. It not something one controls to begin with. But I grow tired of the kids saying on videos: I'm 14 and I love this and hate music today....or I'm 17 and I have all retro--clothes, a 1987 mustang...and I play def leppard in afternoon, while the others all play maroon 5 and c'Rap music.

80's were the best. no cell phones. no internet.. no texting no 1000 tattoos. excellent times. even mcdonalds and fast food was better. cool music. and movies too.. and everything was so cheaper..
Its cool ho people watched 1 of these movies, and instantly love it. Back when I was only 7. I watched the first friday, Friday the 13th Part 1. After that, I instantly found myself trying to find all the movies. Even as im only 13. I was born too late. But that doesnt mean anything to me. Friday the 13th is the best horror series. Dont let no one tell u the difference if one is better, If you love Friday the 13th, Fuck the rest :D
Being born in 94 I never liked scary movies then I saw Friday the 13th part 7 then I fell in love with the series the 2009 friday is a abomination to the name Friday the 13th
@BreakerHeart345- Hey thats awesome ppl still have a first time falling in love with the Jason series, it was actually 1994 when I watched all 9 of them for the first time, I was only in 9 years old.. I had already seen part 9 on tv in 1991 when I was 6, didn't scare me really but when I was watched the Part 1 in 1993 at age 8, I was scared shitless when Jasons mom is telling the story to the girl at the end, my mom was laughing so hard cuz she knew I would be scared but I wanted to watch it
i am not a friday the 13 fan but i like this song hey iam a yankees fan thay should of have him in a red sox jersey and hat not because i hate the red soxs it would make the rivalry look even more fun but dad not a fan of these moves but he like the part when hes see the picture of the hockey mask but maybe they do what i said if they remake this one i tried contact that jensen daggent so may times never got luck there a magazine called horror hound i get it
instead of a remake, they should have made another sequel. They could have called it friday the 13th part 11 jason's back, again. I would pay to see that.
@steve5568 I heard that they are, and its going to have ALL the survivors from the series team up to defeat Jason. Just a rumor though, that would be cool! :D
@steve5568 i know right......the remake fucked the originals up......every time i ever wanted to rent a friday the 13th movie they only have the remake and freddy vs jason (i like freddy vs jason).....they totally should add a new one of the originals (the old 80's originals actually ended at part 9......jason x was just an extra film) have a nice day :)
god dammit i was born too fuckin late. i wish i was born in the mid 1970's so i can live the rest of my teenage yrs in the 80's. but instead i have to spend my teenage yrs in this miserable pieces of fuck juggs of a generation. How the hell did I end up in a time when JB, Lady Gaga, Twilight, stupid gay metro clothe style, Barack Obama have all to appear at the same time. Fuck this generation, I doubt 2011 or even 2020 or 2030 will be any better. 80's clearly had everything right.
@cmsasuke17 Hell yeah! The new Millenium (2000-2009) was a shit decade. This current decade is shaping up to be no better. Granted, we still have 9 more years of it, but no way in hell we have another AMAZING pop cultural decade like the 80s. After the early to mid 90s, pop culture died. Late 90s to current pretty much suck all kinds of shit.
@cmsasuke17 Dude that's life just like you and I hate today's lame, wimpy, bullshit generation our parents probably couldn't stand 1990's but however at least they probably agreed that 1980's-1999 was actually decent because you had every coolest musicians from the 1980's and 1990's; However ever since 2000, our generation had to be wimpy, spineless, pussywimped bitches with its skinny jeans, gangster wannabees and happy go lucky life
@cmsasuke17 I was born in the 80s believe it or not, and I have to admit, the 80s was one of the best times to grow up in my opinion. When else are you going to have truly scary movies like this, and great music all in the same period? Trust me, I know the feeling of today. I like Twilight and Lady Gaga I have to admit, but I love the 80s to this day, and this series of movies is one of the reasons why. ^_^
@cmsasuke17 I fuckin' love this franchise and all what is produced in the 80's. It was an unique decade. I was born in the early 80's in Italy (unfortunately) and in my state the situation is much more worse than your.
I'm really tired of all the shitty things of these years: movies, music, stupid people, politicians.....
@cmsasuke17 I don't know. I thought the 90s were pretty damn good. Now that was a unique and wholesome decade. (I should know--that was the first ten years of my life, and they were great.)
@cmsasuke17 As an 80's born child I had the privilege to see most of the best 80's horror and hear only the best music ever because I was raised in a family where they watched horror and listen to rock music all the time. I had my first hand experience as a toddler growing up in the best decade ever called the 1980's. But yeah, I'm god fuckin damn near 30 and already feeling old with this Twilight shit. The Lost Boy is the king of vampires like Jason is the king of all slasher flicks.
@cmsasuke17 You and me both were born into the wrong generation I was born in the 90's. Icannot believe how stupid this young generation is I don't know which is worse the way they dress, or the shit they call music, either way both of them are purely sickening. I'am absolutely ashamed to be a part of this generation.
@cmsasuke17 Take Manathan was not my favorite one tough... Part 7 was mostly because of Jason design hehehe (i got this action figure). And yeah, 80s rock !
@cmsasuke17 Nothing wrong with Bill Clinton internet era, economy good, jobs raises, gas prices low, unemployment rate low, porn still strong, I love the 90s, until Bush jr fucked it all up for us, Bush is no role model. Now you have to live and survive this in this new generation regardless what age/generation you are : ) Its called Tough Love : )
What year were you born? I was born in 1985. Lots of things in both the 70s and 80s were really good for movies and television and music. The 90s were okay, and every decade has it's differences of style, music, television, and movies. And if you love video games, they were good in this time era too. The 80s will live on forever, since I lived for half of that decade, but loved and still love lots of stuff from that decade. The Friday the 13th remake in 2009 was terrible.
IM 40 years old and the 1st movie i snuck into was Friday 3D. i pissed my pants..anyway..ive always loved this song and i think Jason is gunna outlive me...or is that outkill me?
Very maligned by fans, i saw this 2 times in theaters when i was 8 and this was Paramount's last F13 movie before they disowned him and left him to New Line Cinema. Did that rock scene made you cringe?
@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, it's almost as hated by the fans as part 5, Jason Goes To Hell and JasonX are, which i don't get. At least they made an effort to finally get Jason out of the woods in this one and do something a little differently from the rest of the series without going completely overboard with it like New Line did when they took over the franchise. That scene in the steam room where he kills the guy with the rock was a pretty nasty death scene and is one of the best kills in the series.
The so-called reboot which came out felt more like part 12 than an actual reboot or remake that remixed the first 4 movies in one. Cool thing was that it was New Line and Paramount's first crossover ever! back in 86. Did you find any of the girls hot in this movie?
@Johnlindsey289 I thought the blonde chick was pretty hot. As for the reboot, i thought it was okay but nowhere nearly as good as the ones from the 80's.
@TheAltair4 Most "fans" of Friday The 13th today are just nooby nerds who know little about these movies, so that would explain why they don't know why part 8 is awesome. Real fans appreciate part 8!
This song really encompasses the whole of the franchise. The darkest side of the night, burns like a fire for the wasted lives of the victims Jason has murdered.
jason takes manhattan is entertaining, but it could have been much better if they had been able to do all the location shoots that they originally planned (MSG, brooklyn bridge, empire state building). but i guess they didn't have the cash for all that shooting on location. still a solid sequel.
@MrScarieman1 Don't sweat it; every one's opinion on each Friday movie varies greatly. After all, there are people that love every installment, some that don't like the series at all, and some who only like a couple of installments. Personally, I think this one's alright, but it would have been better had Paramount let Rod Heden direct most of the movie in New York and have the last part take place on the boat, instead of what happened with the finished product.
It' s a shame that music today has to be all %&%$#^# auto tuned. It gives talentless people the chance to become famous. As someone who was born in 1996, I can say that I don' t understand why in THE HELL is Bieber being compared to the THE BEATLES. Are you mad? Anyways, movies have also lost their touch as well. Nowm for a horror movie to be famous it has to be either filmed on a security camera, or has to be the most violent sh*t ever.
I love love love the 80s, its to damn bad that it'll never come back again! :/ 2011?? its long gone...I was born in the early 90s but I really wish i lived thur the 80s so bad.
todays style in music, clothes, and everything sucks total aass now :/
@RNC200711 ugh, things were so much better. I mean, yea...we didn't have the internet & digital cable, etc...but it was just an awesome time...the clothes, the music, the movies, the cars...ugh I guess I will keep dreaming... =/
@md1980s I think the world would be a better place without the internet and mobile phones etc the 80's were great even though I wasn't that old when they hit
Not the best movie, it was ok. Love the rooftop boxing match between Jason and Julius and the New York scenery. Always liked the movie poster as well. The 2 movies that followed were really crap. Freddy Vs. Jason? Can take it or leave it.
i've waited 8 years to hear this. it rocks :-)

BreakerHeart345 7 months ago
@BreakerHeart345- Hey thats awesome ppl still have a first time falling in love with the Jason series, it was actually 1994 when I watched all 9 of them for the first time, I was only in 9 years old.. I had already seen part 9 on tv in 1991 when I was 6, didn't scare me really but when I was watched the Part 1 in 1993 at age 8, I was scared shitless when Jasons mom is telling the story to the girl at the end, my mom was laughing so hard cuz she knew I would be scared but I wanted to watch it
weirdscience85 7 months ago
this is a very cool mellow yello tune.
I like it alot!
I remember when I watched this movie on vhs back in the 80´s my copy was a 3 - 4 generation bootleg copy.
I remember those days, such a blast watching uncut cool 80´s movies

instead of a remake, they should have made another sequel. They could have called it friday the 13th part 11 jason's back, again. I would pay to see that.
steve5568 8 months ago 16
@steve5568
would have been better than that crappy 2009 movie.
if part 8 received more money they would have made more sequals in paramount

@steve5568 they made a remake ? it seem like cus they stuff from the past movies like the barn part 3 and flipped over RV from part6

@steve5568 I heard that they are, and its going to have ALL the survivors from the series team up to defeat Jason. Just a rumor though, that would be cool! :D

@steve5568 i know right......the remake fucked the originals up......every time i ever wanted to rent a friday the 13th movie they only have the remake and freddy vs jason (i like freddy vs jason).....they totally should add a new one of the originals (the old 80's originals actually ended at part 9......jason x was just an extra film) have a nice day :)
kewlstuff01 3 months ago
@steve5568 I liked the remake. It was way scarier than the others. but before 2009 Friday the 13th was still my favorite horrormovie. Jason 4 kill!

god dammit i was born too fuckin late. i wish i was born in the mid 1970's so i can live the rest of my teenage yrs in the 80's. but instead i have to spend my teenage yrs in this miserable pieces of fuck juggs of a generation. How the hell did I end up in a time when JB, Lady Gaga, Twilight, stupid gay metro clothe style, Barack Obama have all to appear at the same time. Fuck this generation, I doubt 2011 or even 2020 or 2030 will be any better. 80's clearly had everything right.
cmsasuke17 8 months ago 66

Very maligned by fans, i saw this 2 times in theaters when i was 8 and this was Paramount's last F13 movie before they disowned him and left him to New Line Cinema. Did that rock scene made you cringe?
Johnlindsey289 8 months ago
@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, it's almost as hated by the fans as part 5, Jason Goes To Hell and JasonX are, which i don't get. At least they made an effort to finally get Jason out of the woods in this one and do something a little differently from the rest of the series without going completely overboard with it like New Line did when they took over the franchise. That scene in the steam room where he kills the guy with the rock was a pretty nasty death scene and is one of the best kills in the series.
TheAltair4 8 months ago
@TheAltair4
The so-called reboot which came out felt more like part 12 than an actual reboot or remake that remixed the first 4 movies in one. Cool thing was that it was New Line and Paramount's first crossover ever! back in 86. Did you find any of the girls hot in this movie?
Johnlindsey289 8 months ago
@Johnlindsey289 I thought the blonde chick was pretty hot. As for the reboot, i thought it was okay but nowhere nearly as good as the ones from the 80's.
TheAltair4 8 months ago
@TheAltair4 Most "fans" of Friday The 13th today are just nooby nerds who know little about these movies, so that would explain why they don't know why part 8 is awesome. Real fans appreciate part 8!

This song really encompasses the whole of the franchise. The darkest side of the night, burns like a fire for the wasted lives of the victims Jason has murdered.
TinyHeadHouse 10 months ago
jason takes manhattan is entertaining, but it could have been much better if they had been able to do all the location shoots that they originally planned (MSG, brooklyn bridge, empire state building). but i guess they didn't have the cash for all that shooting on location. still a solid sequel.

217medusa 10 months ago
@217medusa I don't know what to think of it.
MrScarieman1 10 months ago
