I got the BMW M3 GT2 car in my Forza Motorsport 3 game and it's really fun to drive. It's not as good as the Porsche but it's better than the Ferrari.
This BMW team managed by Bobby Rahal is also factory backed. They were very competitive for the first year, expect to see them competing for the championship in 2010. You can buy the same car from the factory and they will give you a certain amount of support. You better have some serious cash on hand. haha
I don't think they'll win the championship or anything, but they'll do good. The Flying Lizard Porsche's are factory backed (right?) and so are the Risi Ferrari's. Everyone else is a privateer so I expect BMW to be 3rd, maybe 4th.
the reliability issues can and will be ironed out. It was the car's first outing race, jeez. The thing that IS a good indication was the car's speed, it was extremely fast in its GT2 class

I think they will do good before the 2009 season ends. This was just their first race.
