This is a grade 10 flute piece, because it is hard to control the breathing; a flute of that size takes a lot of air. But this guy absolutely mastered it. Greeeeeeeeat job.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from looking at the fingerings and considering the size of the dizi, I think it's keyed in low A. I heard these "large dizis" are very hard to find.

The dizi is in low B-flat.

They also make low dizis in A, G, and F. Some of them have an additional hole for your pinkie.

I also know of two rare dizis that were made in the keys of low D and C. The low C dizi has two mokong holes and is said to require three people to play it!

The mokong hole is the hole between the finger holes and the blowing hole. It's where you glue on the dimo. The dimo is what gives the dizi its charisteristic buzzing tone.
