  • These are all great. I totally agree with these!

  • #2 best scene should have been the cliff hanger from that season, with Abby & Karen at the children's park, when they discover a crack in the foundation of some playground equipment, where Peter is buried. The camera pans in for a close-up of Abby's face, in all her glorious, punk-Farrah-Fawcett-hairstyle, looking on in absolute shock and horror, because she buried him there. An absolutely outstanding season for Knots!! One had to wonder all summer how Abby was gonna get out of this one!!!

  • #4...I remember Michelle Lee saying in an interview that she was going through her divorce from James Farentino during this time and that was her real wedding ring that she took off at Sid's grave. I miss this show so much!!

  • What I remember about this show was watching it with my mom when I was little. I remember Val falling off a horse which somehow made her go crazy and she wore bright red lip stick and it wasn't applied good. I remember that crazy Val scared me for some reason. I would love to see it now and I wonder if I even am remembering it right.

  • Michelle Lee is really not a bad actress; she's a pretty damn good actress. And Donna Mills may be one of the most beautiful and glamourous ladies of the 80's ever!

  • Sorry my daughter sat on my phone and hit send. Anyway, I remember loving the music and feeling sad and romantic about their relationship and all just as she was to marry Ben! Thanks so much.

  • LOVE this!!! Thank you so much for the best show ever! Would you please also upload the scene of Val's wedding to Ben where she and Gary talk about the twins being his? P

  • Michele Lee is the only actress to be in all 344 episodes. IMO, #4 on this list is her best performance in the series. She is so real and understated in it, yet still SO Karen. Her most perfect performance in 14 years IMO.

  • what season is 4:21

    ?

  • @asongforxx456 Season 8.

  • Number 3 should have been number ONE!

  • Hey could someone send me these seasons or just upload them to youtube please. im like everywhere trying to find them

  • WOW what an amazing show it was and so well written and acted .thanks for the memories by far the best soapie ever

  • Great effort in assembling and posting, thank you! My #1 moment didn't make your top 10 though : Abby burying Peter Hollister's body. The whole season finale that year in May 1987 was an incredible hour of excellent writing and acting!

  • Great list, I would have had several others, though. The Jill-poor Val moment was classic KL, as was Laura's death, as was the scene in the hospital when Sid died. Not sure how I could put them in order, you did a great job doing your list. Thanks for sharing

  • My fav was when Laura was dying & she had to leave Greg...

  • Knots was the best soap of the 70s, 80s & 90s!!! It had great writers, great actors and great stories, yes Dynasty, Dallas and Falcon Crest were good in their first few years but after a while they became OTT and became moranic KL managed to keep it's audience and it's quality it has inspired so many other shows of the nineties & noughties but it never gets the credit it deserves

  • My Favorite was Olivia's drug story..

  • Great clips. But I thought one of the all time best moments on the show was when Jill help Val at gunpoint and forced her to take all those sleeping pills. Those episodes had me on the edge of my seat.

  • Knots truly had one of the great ensemble casts of any TV drama. Too bad the Emmys had such a bias then of prime-time soaps... My ultimate fave Knots moment, though, would have to be Abby finding Peter H. spindled to death... and her ensuing efforts to get rid of the body. Priceless!

  • #5 is amazing! Gary did that with conviction even as a drunk..#4 was just great writing and great acting! #3: Abby going crazy to save her baby! #2 Classic Knots...Val was gone for a year...but boom! She's back! # 1: Oooh...that moment made me want to cry so bad! I have to say that Knots had so many wonderful moments that you can't count them all! Esp when everyone thought Gary was killed by a Wolfbridge assassin! Olivia wanting the car, Karen and Val's fight after Laura's funeral

  • @vidhead85 I agree, too many to count! I'll have to do "10 more of the best Knots Landing moments" and use some of the suggestions I've gotten. :)

  • Some great scenes here that I haven't seen elsewhere. I appreciate them a lot, some of this is often forgotten. I was wondering if you had the scenes where Laura drove off to die alone; where Ciji sang and Karen, who'd just old Mack they couldn't be together, wept; where Karen kissed Abby on the forehead after Abby gave a kidney to Diana; where Eric slapped Diana; where Greg tried to see Abby without any makeup on.

  • @CarlD2 Thank you! I have all of those scenes. In fact, I have any Knots Landing scene you can think of. :P However, it would be impossible for me to upload all of them. I'd gladly upload a couple of scenes of your choice. I'm currently working on uploading Olivia's drug storyline, but when I'm done with that I can upload one or two of your choices if you'd like to narrow it down. :)

  • @pdlbean Thanks! I just listed all those in case you didn't have some of them. If you could, I'd like to see Laura driving away, and, now that I remember it, the scene where Karen realizes Laura is dying. Those would be great.

  • @pdlbean KL had so many wonderful little moments, they always packed a lot of small gems in with each episode, so random things will just come back to you. Another I loved was when a drunk Jill "accidentally" hit Paige with her purse, containing an urn filled-with Peter's ashes.

  • @pdlbean How about when Gary gets the phone call that his brother Bobby died? I know it was Pam Ewing's dream but he named his son Bobby.

  • @CarlD2 Wow! Some moments that I hadn't thought of and forgot...I never saw the one where Laura drives off and the scene with karen and abby was amazing! Great writing and great acting put together! I never saw the one where Eric slapped Diana and Greg trying to see Abby w/o makeup was futile! lol

  • I guess the scene with Paige in the lingerie getting in to Greg's bed was only in the guy's top ten list then.. ;-)

  • My knots moments would be in no particular order: Sid's death Val's confrontation with Abby Gary' being a suspect of Ciji's murder Laura's funeral Val loses the babies Peter's sudden death Lilimae runs over Chip Sumner's mother comes to town Paige and Sumner play crochet Joshua's fall.
  • The scene with Karen saying goodbye to Sid was actually Michelle Lee saying

goodbye to her husband James Farentino who she was divorcing at the time.

  • Abby with the hammer was awesome

  • You gotta Love Abby's Proactive personality.LOL

  • The bottom line is if anyone disagrees with these favorite KL moments they should just create their own, this is one persons opinion which they are Entitled to.

  • @linny50 in hindsight, I could've placed some stuff better. But hey, this was a collaborative effort with a friend. She had some say too.

  • @pdlbean Hey, I give you credit for even taking the time to put this together,I just didn't like some people being so negative about your choices.

  • @linny50 well thank you for the support. :)

  • @linny50 I have to agree...so many people don't take into account that it takes a lot to create

  • I think you did very well. The reason Knots Landing worked for 14 years was it was about us. It was about people we knew. Everyone knew these people in their lives. Everyone knows a Gary or a Val. Everyone knows a Karen. These characters were very realistic and human. Dallas and Dynasty didn't grasp that. Knots was about people...not oil or any such thing!

  • Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good job ! We all have our favourite moments, and I'm very grateful to watch yours.

  • "Didn't you know it would float??!!??" Classic scene!!!

  • Great video--but why can't i see the last 40 seconds?

  • yes the one where Val cautches Gary with Abby and leaves him that along with Val getting her babies back was so emotional and great acting.

  • Karen's storyline of her addiction to painkillers was pretty good in my opinion. She was very convincing. I loved how Mack found Karen unconcious in the shower after almost overdosing. I wish somebody would load that clip on youtube.

  • My favorite moments were Abby moments:

-When Val slapped her for having an affair with Gary.

-When she realized that her people stole Val's twins.

-When she buried Peter to protect Olivia.

-When she rated Paige a 6 on the Abby Scale.

-When she blackmailed Greg to sell his company.

-When she moved back in the neighborhood. (Just like old times)

  • Also.......when Val wakes up at the hospital after her overdose from Jill. Gary moves to the side to reveal Jill standing there. When Val sees her, she completely wigs out. Also, and I can't remember the storyline, but Gary is "dead" and is in an ambulance at his ranch. Mack is there and Val drives up and walks to the ambulance. She realizes Gary's in there and when Mack tries to pull her away, Val goes balistic. Van Ark's performance here if almost "frightening" to watch.

  • The best TV series EVER! Like your picks but you really did blow it. How could you not include Val's reaction when the doctor told her the babies were stillborn? How 'bout when Abby was trying to bury Peter Hollister -- a riot! And anything from my absolute favortie storyline -- Jill's descent into madness. When she breaks into Val's house and holds her at gunpoint to take the pills, Swallow Val, swallow. I can't without water. Beyound amazing.

  • I love how Valene came back from the "dead",Dallas ended on a downer with April's death.

  • Oh, of course Laura's death is the best story line. Every true Knots fan has known that for years.

  • Will you be doing Top Abby moments?

  • @michael65 i'd like to see the top abby moments! there are loads.

  • They just don't make TV like this anymore. :-( This show needs to be re-run again. I have a lot of episodes on VHS but still. It could find a new audience. This show is timeless.

  • The look that Gary has at 8:35 just breaks my heart everytime. Gary looked like a wounded puppy that lost his master

  • #8 when the Fishers say goodbye to the twins is the most poignant and heartwrenching scene I have ever witnessed on TV. I would add the scene where Karen finally grieves for Sid when she cries while holding Ginger and Kenny's baby; the scene where Mack brings Gary home to Val and the twins after the charges against him for Jill's death are dropped; and the scene where Karen convinces Harry Fisher to give the twins to Val which leads into the scene when Karen brings the twins home to Val.

  • Contrast "Letting Go" Karen with seasons 8-14 Karen. In the later years they tried to make Karen superwoman and for me it just backfired. In the "Letting Go" scene with Sid's tombstone she was so real and so raw. As the series went on that likeable Karen disappeared IMO. That's why I objected so much to the Pollyanna scene getting included on this.

  • I disagree with most of your choices but I like that you put Val's leaving scene as number one. It would be my number two as my number one is when Val finds her babies. Other scenes missing are when Val gets her babies back, when Jill tries to kill her and when Val roars with laughter while jogging after learning Jill's death.

Also missing are the big encounter with JR (series 4 I believe) and then with Abby and Gary in a Dallas hotel lobby and Abby burying Peter.

  • That was such a treat Thanks guys!

  • Do you have any more clips from Olivia's drug problem?

  • I sure do. Would you like me to make a little "clip" video for it?

  • @pdlbean Please do!

  • @pdlbean Yeah I second that. If you could even post some of that episode. I haven't seen that bit where Abby says "I'm locking you in with me" for years!

  • @purecorkboy06 okay, I'll see what I can do then. :)

  • @pdlbean Thank you kindly. I would love that!

  • I pretty much disagree with your scenes AND your order, but thank you so much for compiling this. The "Letting Go" scene is one I'd forgotten and it IS a treasure I wouldn't have/should have included.

  • I agree that the one with val laeving gary was very touching (awesome acting). Also not added was the one when val got her babies back - I will never forget that one !

  • You know, Michele Lee was a much weaker actress than Donna Mills or Joan Van Ark. But you've GOT to give that "Letting Go" scene to her. She absolutely killed it.

  • I would've put the scene from Olivia's drug story when Abby's eyes widen at the realisation that Brian's in danger because he doesn't have the money and Abby turns and bolts from the house to rescue him.

  • Nice scenes but how could these not be included: Jill trying to kilL Val OR Abby burying Peter OR Sid's death OR Abby telling Val she can have Gary anytime.....

  • Love your #1 pick. I'll always have a soft spot for that moment. LOL!!!

  • COuld have picked better scenes than these!

  • I'm stunned that Laura Avery-Sumner's funeral video was not the #1 scene. I just can't believe it. It is the one scene that Knots fans and critics always mention when pointing out that Knots Landing wasmore than a soap opera. How could you possibly not place it a number one?

  • I'm... sorry? You're entitled think that's the best scene if you want, I enjoy it myself. :)

  • Because it is not worth being number one. It was a great storyline but nobody ever said it was the best scene ever of the series You are of course entitled to have your own opinion but it is just your opinion, does not have to be everyone else's.

  • @allsetnow1 I agree. Laura's death was unforgetable and her absence from the KL gang was always felt.

  • that scene with Abby and Olivia was one of the best

  • I agree. Simply Fantastic!!

  • I hated the way the show ended as far as bringing back Val, so much of it was unbelievable and far fetched. But this scene with Ted and Joan shows how well connected they were to each other, and how they showed up for the scene, despite the cracked storyline.

  • I loved the way Valene and Abby returned and smack into the middle of a storyline they'd both been connected too even offscreen for the whole season. Only KL could've allowed such irony and gotten away with it. How I miss this show.

  • I loved the Karen scene at the graveyard , during that time Michelle lee was going through a divorce in real life , she talked about this in an interview saying that the ring she took off was her real wedding ring , and that is why the scene came from the heart. the winner scene ( val leaving gary ) is remembered at the instant Knots Landing is mentioned in any country to any generation even those who watched it during re runs , thanks for this great effort

  • Thank you for putting the Karen graveyard scene at number 4. One of my all time favourites. Damn I wish I could find out who wrote the backing music. It's so beautiful

  • This is great. I don't know how you narrowed it down to 10.

If I were able to put something like this together, I'd include:

--Karen bringing the babies back to Val (although the scene you included with the "adoptive" parents was awesome)

    --Lilimae running down Chip

    --Laura's video goodbye to Greg
