I have a Merlin Kart with a Brand New Never used PRD FIREBALL with all parts accompanied by a Yamaha KT100 engine, used, but comes with a starter ...FOR SALE. MESSAGE ME BACK IF YOUR INTERESTED!
I have a tony kart extreme chassis with the bread box body work... i'm wondering if the OTF mount i have will be fit... what is the bolt pattern or measurement? I'm restoring the chassis because it was a little abandonded when i bought it...
Ya I've checked out the website, I've actually been looking at it every day for a few days now. Hoping to learn something new. :P Would you trust Cometkartsales. com? They have a killer deal for the PRD, but I'm skeptical. I did email asking if it was the latest model of PRD(It is). And I'd figure I'd try to get as much entail as possible.
@jahancock2001 Sweet! I just wanted outside confirmation that I won't get screwed by ordering from them. Although I did noticed sales tax for them is high, and I'm in Oregon, no sales tax for us.+shipping It'd end up being same price as Doug. So we'll see when I get my next couple paychecks. Thanks for all your info! :D
I just tried starting mine today, no luck. Did you have any problems? Followed the instruction but didn't work. Seems like the battery ran out of juice. It was charged. It would be cool to see a video on starting the darn thing. wink wink
Awesome video for direction. I used to run a Comer k-80 as a kid, moved up to the Yamaha kt100. And a couple years later, I'm thinking of buying one of these motors. I like them because they're cheap and seem like an easier engine to maintain. Have you driven it yet? I ask because, I see your post is quite recent. And what are your thoughts on the power output?
@HeidenH We have ran it. It is a GREAT motor! Bullet proof.. Your power down the straights will be slightly less than the Soniks, IAME, and Rotax. The HP is at 28hp. If you are a good driver you can beat these guys. I have done it many many times now. Also they let you have a little less weight. There is a spec class for the PRD only also so check and see if that is available to in the area. I would recommend it! This is a great way into TAG and PRD are taking the motor development serious.
@jahancock2001 Bullet proof? That's a great thing to hear, after reading about the Rod failures and problems with starting. But then again I also read they've got all their kinks out. I'm eagerly excited to get a PRD on my chassis!
@HeidenH Yeah they have gotten a lot of the kinks worked out. Not to take anything away from the Soniks, IAME, and Rotax's they are all great engines. I like the PRD because it is not a "cheap" engine it is a less expensive engine and PRD has a good support system. If you have not bought one yet, Doug Huggler is probably the best guy to buy from as he has a wealth of knowledge. His website is prdfireball . com

@HeidenH Comet karts are very good. If you buy from them they will help you set up for national races.
