I agree that is Matraca Berg singing "We Never Danced" in the movie, which I saw in the theater. I bought the soundtrack album "Made in Heaven" on cassette, which listed Martha Davis as performing "We Never Danced". However, it did not sound like Martha Davis singing. You can compare Matraca Berg's singing voice to that of Martha Davis on You Tube and other places on the Internet. .

This movie is so lame, it is sickening.

I was practically forced to watch it in the early nineties as a child, many times, and I can't tell you how it chills me to even remember having to be subjected to this crap. The music is gay, typical eighties crap. The cinemetography is bad....and, overall, its just a lame experience.

It's a shame that the version in the studio was NOT included on the soundtrack. That is the GREAT Matraca Berg singing it in the studio. She is primarily known as one of the top country music songwriters of today - her biggest hit was "Strawberry Wine". But her voice is phenomenal. I had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago and asked her about the song. She was unaware her recording wasn't on the album!!!

It's not even listed in the credits, so most people do not know WHO the singer is. She's listed as the character Matraca in the cast, but her name is never mentioned in the film. Why didn't they list her as SINGER IN STUDIO? Or at least list her performance of the song in the music credits?! Very frustrating!

I found this movie on tv many years ago, and it still remains one of my favourite films of all time. It's a crying shame that this movie bombed at the cinema. Very underrated if you ask me. I hope one of the studios picks it up and remakes it one day.
