  • what a beautiful ending. it opens up the zelda series to new things and ideas. In this timeline they can continue developing the story without it being tied to Hyrule, the master sword, or the triforce.

  • The graphics on this game were incredible.

  • Where the fuck is my AV cable for my Gamecube!?!?

  • Ganon will never come back

  • So....Fi...Ganon...and King of Red Lions...is beneath the sea now..

  • I love how the music fits perfectly with the dialogue...

  • the part when the king didnt come with link stayed in my head for days and when link left to find a new land it made me cry for hours

  • love this series' ganondorf. love "this is the only world your ancestors were able to leave you". love this game.

  • The ending left me crying when I beat this game T_T

  • I'm gonna comment again on this video just to say how much of an emotional wreck I was the first time I completed this game, and the many times after.

    ;_;

The King of Red Lions will always be my favorite character, and this will always be my favorite game.

  • TT_TT daddy nooooo~

  • I beat this game on my last day of summer vacation in 2003, before I started my sophomore year of high school. Damn nostalgia...

  • DAMN ZELDA GAMES... touching my heart

  • This is the only world your ancestors were able to leave you. Please... forgive us. ;_;

  • I remember this! Right before I went to the final fight I went to the secret dungeon on your birth island and died 3 times. On the last try I was like "fuck this ima go kill ganandorf already!"

  • When I was playing wind waker I was like "cool , a talking boat!" then "WHAT?! Talking boat Is king of hyrule?" and then "talking king boat your AWESOME" lastly "wait...no...talking king boat! No! don't go! I want to stay in hyrule with you! I WANT TO EXPLORE THE HYRULE LAND AND GO ON AN ADVENTURE LIKE IN OCARINA OF TIME! NO!! DONT LEAVE ME WITH ZELDA! SHE HAS NEEDS! GIRL NEEDS! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

  • Looks like someone is- a bit- light headed! A ha ha....

  • The seeds, will be under the sea to born in the pineapple where live spongbob, that's a joke, I'm a megafan of Zelda saga, Wind Waker & OoT, are the best games of history.

  • gasp easter egg with the zelda fading away from screen (khearts1 ending sora reaching for kiarai)

  • Master Sword: Apply directly to the forehead!

  • A remake would be awesome - with twilight princess graphics!

  • @Ikiriatos No. FUCK no. Not no to a remake, but no to the second part.

Making TWW in TP's art style would ruin the atompshere of the game.

  • i don't understand the ending, tetra/zelda and the pirates are supposed to take link and aryll back to outset island? and what happens to link's grandmaaa =( ?!?! bwahaha

  • lol. king touches triforece before ganondorf and makes his wish. ganondorf laughs like a retard and the fight starts. king gone. link kills ganondorf. king back

    where did he go?

  • I'm glad they split the timeline. The series can grow up, but still stay the same. This end of it forgets hyrule, and the trio of courage, power and wisdom are broken up, and they go out into a world beyond hyrule. This end is about growing up. Twilight princess is about keeping those special memories and dreams alive. We get to keep chasing the triforce. We get to keep living the dream of hyrule, playing in an endless garden.

The series is keeping us children while helping us grow. Tha

  • @cleanupcat This guy deserves top rated comment, period.

  • @Owned674 Thanks man. LoZ is pretty much the best series of all. Theme, story, setting, characters..... Nothing can top this. Can't wait for Skyward Sword :)

  • That would suck if a shark at them both at the end.

  • 3:39 SOMEONE PUSH NIKO OFF!

  • what happened to the graphics why does it look so childish

  • this ending sad

but the ending to Twilight Princess was also epic

... im going to go beat ganondorf one more time in Twilight Princess

(lol, i like that jungle music you hear when you face him as a giant pig)

  • and the "Next Hyrule" has come to pass prior to Spirit Tracks.

  • One thing I don't get:

if TWW takes place 100 years after Ocarina of Time's "Adult" timeline, why then does the forgotten Hyrule look reaaaaaally different? I don't remember Hyrule Castle being on a raised platform in the middle of Lake Hylia in Ocarina of Time, or the Master Sword being in Hyrule Castle. Though it would make sense to have Ganon's Tower where a Great Fairy Fountain used to be.

  • One thing I don't get:

  • This is (in my opinion) the saddest ending in any Zelda ever. And that is exactly why it is my 2nd favorite Zelda. (3rd being Ocarina and 1st being Majora's Mask)

  • @PrinceGale For me, Majora's Mask is the best, then Twilight Princess, then this game. It's just something about Twilight Princess that draws me in a little more.

  • You guys! You guys!! How is that piano soundtrack called?

  • @LufthansaDAIGO I believe it is called "Farewell Hyrule King" or somthing like that.

  • AJ!

  • Ganon didn´t beat me, Zelda shot me the arrows! I can´t stand her with a bow°_° I mean, she´s helping, not getting link killed!

  • What a fantastic game. I hope some day I will be able to create a game as great as this...

  • I THROW MY CASTLE IN THE SEA SOMETIMES

    SAYIN' AYOO

    I'M DROWNIN' HY-RULE.

sorry, I had to do it.

  • Every Game Cube zelda always has the same ending wich is always "im sorry i regret the past or i should make things right" fricken nintendo bonez

  • I sooo can't wait until the Zelda Ocarina of Time comes out on 3DS for nintendo! :)

  • I love ocarina of time but... I dunno.. I end this game today and the fact that Link and Zelda are gonna create new Hyrule and the king dies and Link look at the king and all and..... damn its just SO epic.... its great... amazing.... BE-AWESOME!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Ocarina of Time has the most symbolic story (though some of the meaning is lost in the localization), Majora's Mask has the darkest story, Twilight Princess has the epic scale and scope of movies like Lord of the Rings, but I say that Wind Waker has the most emotionally poignant story out of all of them.

The scene at 2:09 is especially powerful, because the King had become a father figure to Link. And Link doesn't want to lose him... T.T

  • Mah boi, this peace is what all true wa- GUAGRUHGDAHHSVSSBNDALHAPDHLALGALAH- (drowns to death)

  • 0:14 to 0:41 i thought link fainted >.<

  • just love when during the emotional conversation between zelda and the king links face says whatever all the time :D

  • cmon guys this game was way better then twilight princess, it was one if the best

  • Wind Waker implied both its Link and Tetra/Zelda came from Princess Zelda (are they distant cousins?), her husband is up to debate.

Spirit Tracks implied (stated in the Japanese version) that its Princess Zelda was a descendant of Tetra, its Link too might be Tetra's descendant. Again, Tetra's husband is up to debate.

Note: A three sided pyramid is a _tetra_gon, if all three of the Triforce rest upon each other forming a three sided pyramid, it looked like a tetragon.

  • this one may be good but twilight princess is the best so far. although the upcoming skyward sword may be better.

  • @xam3000hehe what di u mean "and even majoras mask", it was amazing! I think oot, mm, and ww were like a triple threat to game designers everywhere, all unique u know? Unlike some (twilight princess i'm looking at u lol!)

  • what did daphnes mean by he was like ganon

  • @MissAnimeFreak513

He means that like gannon, he held on to/hoped/bound to Hyrule and unable to move from the past. Just like ganondorf was obbsesed with reviving Hyrule to it's formal glory, so to was the king's 'life' was essentally bound with protecting it as if it was still in it's glory day's, and thus they were the same. The King however, unlike Ganondorf, at the end realized that his kingdom was already 'dead' and instead looked to the future in Link and Zelda/Tetra

  • And this is part of the reason why I hold Windwaker as the best game ever made...

  • does anyone besides me think that the spirit tracks story is complete bullshit and does not add up to the fantastic story of this game... i mean damnit, this is my favorite game of all time and the secuels suck D:<

  • pthh, link is like, "i'm sorry what", your friend is about to die, at least have some emotion, danmit it's so hilarious XD

  • windwaker has a fantastic story

  • for anyone who thinks this was too catoony, i think it was the best zelda game of all, except for ocorina of time but thats just common sense

  • @trent982

I think Wind Waker was the best thing to ever happen the the series since Ocarina of Time. It was the perfect style for showing the character's emotions and made the atmosphere a lot more interesting.

They should make another one with the same style for the Wii or future systems now that more people became acceptable of having cel-shaded graphics.

  • For being one of the most cartoonish Zelda games, the ending is pretty serious.

  • Perhaps one of the saddest ending scenes ever. Of course the whole Hyrule motif is a metaphor for how many people long to return to a period of time which they enjoyed but must face the truth that they have to move on. The King finally does this, realizing his time is lost and it passes to the younger generation. Few people are as strong as the King.

  • Poor Daphnes he couldn't save the old Hyrule on his own and he had to use a drastic method to "save" it. As sad as it was to watch him die, he was able to confront his demons and leave behind something for Link & Zelda to find and start anew. Like all great kings they must live and die with their kingdom.

  • OH-EM-GEE ^_^

  • Medli and Makar are there too! I thought they were gone! YAY!!!!! :) :) :)

  • Yep, Spirit Tracks takes place a few centuries after Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. Apparently Link and Tetra found a new land, much bigger than any island.

  • yea it's in Phantom Hourglass that's when they start talking about the "New Land"

  • spirit tracks, dude.

  • Wind Waker no doubt has the saddest ending of the Zelda series, some very nice cinematics here.

  • @TurquoiseStar17 The saddest ending? yes. The saddest story? no.

  • 2:20

I have scattered the seeds of the future.

He got it on a lot :o

  • lol

  • Lol I remember I was like: NO MY BOAT NOOOO!!!!!

  • XD .

  • That the Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest Zelda games in history, won't be doubted by anyone.

But the Wind Waker is the only game that ever managed to reacht the same level.

    To me, they're equally good.

  • I apologize to be saying this after four months after you posted this but... I think you're forgetting A Link to the Past as well. ;)

  • @somebody64

That's before my time ;-) but I will never doubt its awesomeness.

  • @wimpie25 I strongly advice all you youngsters to download A Link to the Past on the Virtual Console. Once you get past the technological limitations I think you will find it to be one of the most enjoyable games of all time!

  • @eirikwegga Could not agree more. I wouldn't even say it has technical limitations though, as honestly the two Zelda games, in my opinion, that have aged the most gracefully are Wind Waker and A Link to the Past. They both still play amazing well, and to this day are still gorgeous.

  • @wimpie25 I think Ocarina and Majora are the best, very closely followed by Wind Waker and Link's Awakening.

  • @wimpie25 I'd agree, but I'd also say Majora's Mask was just awesome. Those three really showed that it wasn't just an ordinary guy saves girl kind of series, but something much more epic and complex.

  • @wimpie25 But ALTTP beat them both.

  • @wimpie25 Other than Majora's Mask, of course.

  • @Jujichan006 na shes more of a tomboy and ppl like that tend to take guys as bros trust me my older sister is a tomboy

  • The king of hyrule should have lived ;_; he was so cool

⌐_⌐ tetra and link are the same age, jeez

  • ocarina of time and a link to the past were the greatest rpg achievements of nintendo

  • heres my order from best to not so best: Twilight princess, Ocarina of Time, Majoras mask, Wind waker. But they all have theyre good spots. Btw does anyone know if and when a new one is coming out?

  • link needs to get laid....... BAAAAAD!!!

  • then they all got scurvy and died. the end.

  • Wait, so was Ganon lying when he said "Your gods destroyed you" as in the town in the legends?

  • WHAT THE HELL!? TETRA WAS 13!

    XD

  • 2:58 DIEEE!!!

  • NNNOOOOO king!!!!! ;_; O_O

  • Majora's Mask is the BEST OF ALL! Have you even tried PLAYING it?!?!?!

  • personally i love Oot best off all the zeldas then majora's and then TP WW last it just seemeed a bit too child like. it lost it's dark adventure theme. that's my opinion. majora's mask was just complicated with the limit of time but it was awesome. i really just love the story in Oot

  • love the music for the credits ^_^

  • love this game 4 ever!!!!!!!! ;_;

  • Not trying to prove you wrong, just trying to figure it out myself. The TP ages are undisclosed, and again I havent played ALTTP yet. How did you figure out WW Zelda's age?

  • OK lets go through these.

OoT Link: It makes sense that his ages are 7 years apart but where are you getting 10 to begin with?

OoT Zelda: Where are you getting 11 to start?

TP Link and Zelda: Not sure where your getting either of these... you dont seem too sure about Zelda.

WW Link: This one makes sense, he gets the clothes when he turns 12.

WW Zelda: Dont know where your getting this.

LOZ Link and Zelda: I thought they were both much older then 10.

    I havent played ALTTP yet.

  • well i think for link:

Oot: young link: 10. ( old link is 17)

    TP: 16

    WW: 12 ( duh)

    MM: 10

    as for zelda:

    OOT: 11

WW: umm, well. i guess 12 also...

    TP: 16 also

    but, thats what i think...

  • Mm link was 12 cause it happens after Oot where young link was 10. WW link is clearly the youngest Link in the zelda series and TP link a bit older than adult Oot Link

  • Correction, in the ocarina of time, Link was 12 also, because it was a tradition that when the wind waker link was the same age as the hero of time, who was twelve, he would have to wear the hero's garb. And Tetra was also twelve. so you were right on that one. in ocarina of time she is the same age. In majora's mask he was 13, in twilight princess and ocarina of time he was 19.

  • yea, i guess that works

  • Sorry to add so many corrections. You got some of them right, but I look at the game the most, and Tetra had to have been either 13 or 12 during the wind waker, I KNOW in Ocarina of time though she was twelve, due to her chliche, and expected maturity level, here, she has grown up a little though, but also you must bear in mind that she is princess zelda's incarnation, my guess is though, that since she is noticeably taller than link in some way, she's 13, also understanding how mean she was!!!

  • yea, she was a female dog

    AM I RIGHT?!

  • @storm351035103510

Girls growed up much faster than boys of their ages, both biologically and mentally. The problem is that... they also aged much faster.

Anyway, Link was mostly potrayed to be an elf, this also another reason that made him much shorter than Zelda, at least in games that potrayed their relationship this way.

In Wind Waker though, both of them are same race, so it's the girls growed up much faster theory. Plus the bossy and bigger Tetra to attract girl players theory.

  • How long did it take for your to make that up?

  • I still have this game for GameCube. I've had multiple memory cards but they all broke because of someone...(I hate siblings) So I still play it on the Wii, but I can't save any data... that goes with all of my GC games, I lost so much memory and so much time on those games and I still get sulky about it. But eh, I can still play 'em without a MC, I made it to the Tower of the Gods once without turning the Wii off, only took a few days too, yay me!

    I ramble, sorry.

  • I'd have to say, this would have to be the saddest (non-sarcastic meaning) moment in Zelda history.

  • Nah, I think the saddest part would be in either Majora's mask's credit scene with Deku Butler mourning the withered deku scrub, or the part where the Goron hero dies (I forget what his name is...Dangoro?)

  • Darmani.

  • Comment removed

  • link loooks dammed tired

  • lol, he hasnt slept since aryll woke him up in the beginning.

  • Link has Insomnia.

  • The hearts you pick up are actually little sugary candies that are 78% caffiene.

  • Is there a second ending?

    Can anybody tell me?

  • Good job i have not seen the ending in a so long time!! i have the wind waker but i have not played it in a long time!! and i am finished it too! ..... zelda looks so cuite at 1:25 to 1:28

  • A fantastic game... but kind of a disappointing ending...

  • Master Sword = Excalibur

The Sword in the Stone pause at this time : 0:34

  • the song at the end brings back memory :(

  • Now I understand what the fledglings have been saying. At the end of WW, Tetra-Zelda says that they will search for the next Hyrule(1:24). I still think that ST is WW's prequel, so that it goes ST-WW-PH. Thank you for posting this; it has been enlightening.

  • For me, in Phantom Hourglass, Tetra tells her pirates that they shouldn't called her a Princess until they find a new land. In ST it looks as if they already found a new land and Tetra became Zelda again.

  • Well at least we know why Link doesn't have any of his weapons in the beginning of Phantom Hourglass. King o' Highrool( :D) could've at least said:"Give these kiddies hope and make sure some stupid Ghost ship don't haunt them. Oh and let Link (or whatever you named him) keep his Master Sword

  • sigh* the first thing that poped up when Link and Tetra was lying on the surface and the bird came was the LK quote "hey, get a room you two!" -_-"

Anyway, I love this game, its so awwsome :D

  • Great.

  • i loved this game soo much that i remember beating it 6 times in a row XP

  • "This is the only world that your ancestors were able to leave you. Please...forgive us."

    Sorrowful.

    Powerful.

  • "In that sense i was the same as Ganondorf" Wall your looks may be different but the shape, the fat-ish is the same!

  • God, i love this game

  • im close to tears wen link reaches 4 the king.....

  • Ending song is Takt of Wind, I've got it on my iPod x]

LOVE this game, but somewhere I found a fanfic that had the storyline between the games... It was well written, and tied together all the loose ends very nicely... And odd love triangle...

    Link and Medli!?

But now I can't find it anywhere... Anyone know of it? x_o

  • I don't, but it certainly sounds interesting!

  • i think it would be more like link and zelda lol

  • Heh, this was back when WW was just out, but the way they wrote together Link and Medlii was actually pretty convincing.

  • yea but think about it, a 12 year old boy and an i dont know how old bird girl, dont make a very good match lol. but just look how good link and zelda look together :)

  • Shit Shit!! I Want This Game Again! Oh No! Gimme The Game!!

  • AJ....

    WTF

  • sound like funeral music

  • Makar FTW cuz he's adorable :P

  • This game is amazing! This is what had me hooked on video games.

I almost cried in the end.

Hell, parts in the begining with his sister make me choke up.

Great game! Took me a year to beat it though, because I was young and challenged with video games. :P

  • Also, name of the song is Farewell, Hyrule King.

  • Damn, I'd forgotten how sad this was :( The music was masterful too.

  • great game !!!!!

  • 3:23 ^_^

  • How does links cap stay on his head after all that?

  • When I saw this scene for the first time years ago I'll admit I got kinda teary eyed at seeing King Daphnes drowning with his Kingdom. =;(

  • me too...

  • LOL, Link was like ^_^!!

  • when zelda had a light arrow is that where they got the arrow idea in twilight princess

  • it makes you sad knowing that hyrule is dead forever and so are the hyrulians that lived there :,( and they never said what exactly happened to the hero of time. and the music is sad as well.

  • wats the music called? when the king is speaking, i cant find it anywhere :S

  • It's a remake of the castle theme from Link to the past.

  • indeed im just trying to find the song by itself though and i cant, any idea where i could find it? thx!

  • i remeber spending countless hours playing this ganme i got so cought up in the story i cried when i beat it

  • omg me too

  • the music is so sad..

  • Ah, this ending, and phantom hourglass's ending are so sad.

  • that too

but don't you love that link sees Linbeck's ship in the horision

  • was that the old man in red who was a talking boat?!

  • I think that Link in OoT was 12. Because in Super Smash Bros Brawl, when you beat classic mode using Toon Link, his descriptoin said that he wore those clothes on his 12th b-day. And WW Link was the same age as OoT Link.

  • what console is wind waker for?

  • Wind Waker is for the gamecube

  • and the Wii

  • WRONG only for the game cube your thinking Twilight Princess

  • false?

as you can play it on the Wii

  • It was made for the gamecube you can't play it with a wii mote

  • but you can get a controller to play it on the Wii

  • .....but it was only for the gamecube stating it's for the Wii usually means you can play it with the wiimote WHICH YOU CANT!

  • i acknowledge fact...yet you can still play it on the Wii...sheesh...just chill

  • I am chill yelling=/= anger

  • generally they go hand in hand
