World Peace: If you defend war, then you are wrong. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. Peace isn't a political concept...it's a moral concept. Those who search for peace, through peaceful means, WILL find it. Those who search for peace, through acts of war, WILL only find war. LASTING peace can not be achieved through war. The brief period between the end of one war and beginning of another war is not peace. When the fear of war is vanquished, then and only then will there be PEACE.

Senator Smith will say, or do, whatever he thinks will get him elected to the Senate (or White House). No matter what one's political leanings, they are STUCK having to accept that what is in this video presentation is correct. If Oregonians, of either party, don't have the courage to run someone against him, they deserve what they get. Thus far it appears that both parties will be spineless and allow him to run unchallenged.

That ad kicks ass.
Denbosz: If you're from Oregon, you know that Smith makes these noises whenever he's up for election. And then when he's elected, he does the opposite (as the commercial points out by showing his previous actions).
So it's not that representatives shouldn't represent us: Of course they should. It's just that Smith is saying it, but HE WON'T DO IT, and the people of Oregon should vote for someone with a record that matches their rhetoric.

You are right. Let's hope that Oregonians have a chance to vote for an alternative to Smith. It's not looking hopeful yet. Even Democrats would rather have a "real" Republican than a fake of any kind. At least then they'd know what to expect. The only thing consistent about Sen. Smith is his finger in the wind.

I don't understand your rationale for this, doesn't it make sense for people running for government of the people to represent the peoples wishes? do the American people really want their sons and daughters to continue going to Iraq and dying?
