  • when I start chromium on my aspire one zg5 the start up chromium logo is over a white background and when the login screen appears its silver - I prefer blue... I tried to install the classic theme (blue) but it still didn't change my browser from silver to blue can anyone help me customize it thanks

  • From what I have seen ChromeOS is better at conserving battery life than Windows. Running normal I have seen up 25% better run times on ChromeOS on the same netbook. It's even better at standby. I have seen up to 40% better standby time. So if you have a old netbook or notebook that you want to bring to life again install ChromeOS

  • do you think that running ChromeOS vs Win7 on a laptop would save battery life?

  • @cravinRiboflavin nope but it will reduce battery life. because win7 uses up more power than mac, xp os

  • wher do i download this software? most downloads i see are for modified vertions

  • @Tubajock2 I use the compile from Hexxeh. You can find it here chromeos.hexxeh.net

  • @MolEinTubE I did have trouble getting Version 0.16.xxx running on Acer hardware, so you might want to get the Version 0.15.xxx instead.

  • @MolEinTubE all the information you need is here, chromeos.hexxeh.net/

  • Hi! I also have an original Aspire One A110, and after this video I want install Chrome OS on it. Can you tell me how to do this?

  • @Nexxonja While I do agree with you on most of your points, I do not feel that a smartphone can substitute for a netbook. No matter what phone you pick up, you will never get that full internet browser experience. That and a good size keyboard keeps me on Chrome for now, at home.

  • I don't like chrome os because you cant get the max from your computer(You can only watch movies online)And their Chromebook...are they fucking crazy?!?!?! 450$ for those crappy netbooks...better buy a smartphone...you pay it 300$ and you get all the functions of a chromebook and more...

  • @craigj23 Thanks, and hope you have fun with it.

  • thanks man , u rock. I am going to copy this now on my acer1

  • Have tried Jolicloud, not impressed. Never got it to work all the way.

  • Comment removed

  • Have you tried jolicloud? it is not that different i use it on my xp netbook when i only want to go on the internet, not sure you can play games though, takes 30 sec boot time,

Glæder mig til google chromebook bliver billigere med de 7 sekunder boot tid og håber flash er lidt bedre i google chrome men joli cloud er osse okay :)

  • I agree the media player not good enough at the moment, lets hope it gets better. Google should be working on the offline mode, again lets hope it will come in a later update.

  • The most important thing for me in the Chrome OS is/was that Media player, i use it in all my daily basis. Too bad that dont play so much formats, like mp4 and pls (playlist format). And the *required* to have a wi-fi connection is a bad thing too.

  • @newuserpointofview That's one of my major problems too although I can see cloud streaming services fixing that soon.
