The self life of most teen idols, for example, is about 2-4 years. Then everybody forgets about them. Case in point, jonas brothers.

I've also been singing my entire life and have been classically trained all the way--I'd say I'm very qualified to comment on singing ability and indie rockers CANNOT sing to save a life.
