I really liked the New age family, not only was the women an awesome person but so was her husband, I thought he was pretty cool for being open minded to the christian lady, it showed alot when he agreed to have him and his family attend a church with the christian lady =P it pissed me off when she kept telling the new age mom how her hubby forced things on her when he did nothing but try to make the women feel welcome, she pretty much spat in his face -_-
The "christian" woman is simply a nutball and obviously has difficulty thinking for herself being raised to do as she was told - period. The "new ager" is another form of nutball. Although coming across as a lot nicer than the fire breathing hateful bible thumper, the new age lady lives a New England la la land life where "cool" rules the social circles. Personally, I wouldn't spend any serious time with either one.
Not only do I agree with you 100%, but I'm glad Jeanie got to help Brooke by allowing her to pick out the flower neckless to express herself (pretty neckless, too) and express herself through her dance. Positive reinforcement and praise for being a wonderful girl! The Ashley who sadly passed away, let her hypnotize her. She accepted her despite not feeling hypnotized. She saw no harm in it and took it, positively. The rest of the family should be the focus of true Christian behavior.
I think the father (I forget his name) of the "New Age" family - which is what they've been labeled- should be seen for his acts of acceptance, as well and his kindness and patience towards Margret. True humanitarian behavior!
@laojace Why is a question I cannot answer. However, I read on "how" she passed away. It was a car accident - She was driving in her mini van when she hit a guard rail and was ejected from the vehicle.
Wow! Spoken like a true Christian! I've given up on church because of freaks like Margaret, among other reasons, but it's refreshing to hear you speak so lovingly(at least that's how I saw it).
"Symbolism only has power when you give it power". That's so true! Well said.
I never watched Trading Spouses, but now I wish I could have seen this episode.
Have a wonderful life, and keep up the good, true Christian attitude. :)
@dannyd2485@dannyd2485 You shouldn't refuse to believe in a deity simply because it's followers are hypocritical or delusional. You should refuse to believe in what they claim simply by it's contradictory nature, lack of viable evidence and so forth.
Though I will have to agree with you, isn't odd that Christians behave how they wish and adopt the "I'm not perfect, just forgiven" complex to justify it?
Yet everyone else is slammed for they way live on top of preached at in hope of conversion
im christian ,that lady had a big melt down she judge others,i belive in ghost and stuff like, but that does not mean im from the dark side, that what i would say to her,
if that is true, Jeanne your family handled her intolerance so well, I'm impressed. If that was my family, they would of told her to shove it and that she acts exactly the way christians shouldn't.
I'm not so much christain naymore cuz i dont agree with some stuff my church thinks liek at lifegroup they made diffrent rules for the girls for dogde ball, lots of people at my old church were sexist, thinking guy is only stronger and sum of them did gossip,i dont go to church anymore but i still beleive in god
I agree with much of what you have said. But I would like to add that I grew up in a small Southern town and I have met MANY Christians just Like Margaret.
Southern Christianity is the most narrow-minded and hateful strain of Christianity I have ever witnessed.
I can vouge for that. I live in houston, and I can say 90% of the religiously and culturally intolerant people I meet are southern baptist. I am not saying all of them are, but almost everyone I meet that like like the "god warrior" were southern baptist and carried the same views that women.
A group of southern baptist *like "god warrior"s even went as far as getting together and burning my church down when I was five, and we were Christians too, just a little different christian views. crazy
People were so shocked and amused by Marguerrite's behavior in that episode.
I didn't really find anything entertaining about it, I have to deal that kind of crap in real life. You'd think living with a lunatic would be fun, but it's actually very depressing.
BTW poor Broke, she should burn the house down with her nasty relatives inside.
see, I don't agree with you when you said (about the way they treated Brook, the 12 y/o girl) "that's not a christian way to do things"... being nice to people have nothing to do with religion or whatsoever. I personally know lots of christian women that goes to church more than once a week and they're mean, gossip, evil persons. And I know atheists who are very nice and good people.
Many people think that if you believe in God you're good, if you're not, you're a bad person. That's not true
well, in the Bible it does say treat others how you want to be treated. I try to do that, but that doesn't mean all Christians do. Gossips are considered back-biters and "haters of God". I see where you are coming from, I know people from many religious backgrounds, and I found that people are imperfect no matter what their belief system is. However, with some Christians I have observed "Holier than thou" behavior, which is something I would think God isn't fond of.
I'm a Thomasine Christian. We believe in studying other religions/schools of thought to understand where others are coming from. We value education and debate. It's ideas surround a guy named Thomas from the Bible. Do you know what a "Doubting Thomas" is? I know many good Atheists too, I count many as friends.
I agree woman like her will destroy a church bec of her attatude needs some deep help if I was a child of hers i would run away or wait till I was 18 and put alot of space and get a cam for my door and call the cops if she showed up.
I too felt so bad for Brooke. I hope that she's doing well and will be able to move on in her life and have her own life and interests aside from her bullying mother and sister. She seemed like such a sweet girl - I wish the best for her.
Hey Lady..do you know how missionaries convert with force to other religions ...them....I bilve that is how christen teaching ......do not pretent does no t know....in real life, they way it is..christen doing.....
I do too. It must suck living a limited life like that and how many great people/things she will miss out on because she's afraid. I feel more sorry for the kids though!
@RussellHantzOffical No it goes deeper then that this just adds to it.... dumbass.. let me guess your a christian?
