  • page play D and A on the 5th fret

  • this way is pretty simple, but if you want the real good page sound, you gotta play it at the 5th and 7th frets

  • Im not going to say it is inncorect, but this is kind of the easy way out. Its really played on the 5th and 7th frets as a powerchord.

  • Right or wrong it still works and its easy! Thanks Kim

  • wrong

  • yeah, nice job, but if you look at videos that's not actually right. it's e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e and then you bar the d, g, and b at the 7th fret, quickly switch to the 7th fret on the d and the 6th fret on the g and then go back to the d-g-b bar. i think. i'm not sure, but watching the song on "led zeppelin live danish tv 1969" gave me that impression.

  • Yeah, but it works. It's a hell of a lot easier and it fits musically. A power chord fits with a bassline if the bass plays the root note of the power chord. I've played bass for two years, so all I do is take the basslines I know and turn them into power chords. It sounds a little different from the original, but there's nothing wrong with the line. It fits musically.

  • im a zeppelin nut and proud of it

  • not exactly correct watching live every time he was on the 5th and and 7th fret, and my dad got the back stage and my dad asked how he played it, because back then there was no internet, the only way to learn is by ear, but my dad was not good at that... And Jimmy Page wrote the notes (not tabs), and his signature on it... we still have it today... Now my dad taught me so now I know:
