  • Thanks so much Mccrackin1000.Lucky opportunity and how did you get to catch this?.I regret he wasn't with the band in 2002 when I saw them in Chile. 3 thumbs up.

  • old school rocks i wish that you guys would come to north carolina 007shagman.thank you peter

  • Peter and some of th guys showed up in Sylmar Ca. in 73-74ish. There they had a house they stayed at on Blandin St. where I lived. Joe A.manager owned the house. The Band was in transition too Capitol Records. The Band became HUB for a short while during a break up.Joe went onto work with the Ohio Players lost touch with him.

  • This man is the definition of the word LEGEND.

  • y tiene un rancho. y unos caballos finos

  • Astute observation supernaturalone.....too funny!

  • His voice is fantastic, without singing. A lot of character. My band use to do Rare Earth tunes way back when.

  • there are 2 drum solo's that made rock history,Michael Shrive at woodstock with Santana (soul sacrifice) and Peter's on the 'in concert' album long version of get ready.

  • Old school, great guy! Grew up to this music. '' Rock On''

  • Keeps his eyes closed and still play's a hell of a beat. Modeled my playing after his (I need to keep my eyes open tho). Pete, with out you my mother would have not pushed me the way she did. Thanks, you have a talent that can't be over looked hope you live forever.

  • Peter ! My MAANNN ! YOU SOUND AWESUM "ROCK'ONNN'ROLL! ! !

  • Still sounds great!

  • is this the jong (young) Peter Rivera I used to know ??? DAAAAAAAAMMMM!!!! DAMN TIME !!!

  • Man, this was great! It just goes to show that the really great ones don't have to put on a phony front and act like they're God's gift to the world. Peter Rivera is a true class act. I hope he can keep going for as long as he wants. We need more like him...

  • He is the rock version of Buddy Rich. Rock on, Pete!!

  • killer pipes ... keep rocking !!

  • hell, he still sings like hes young at the end

  • Keeps me Rockin! Good Work Boss!

  • This is one great musical talent. Suprb drummer and singer. He has alot of feel for what he plays. As a kid I used to drum to this song when it came out as a single record in 1970.....keep going Peter !!!

  • This guy was a hell of a talent, many could he play the drums. So rare is a drummer who can belt out the lead vocals and keep drumming along.

  • This band is one hell of a group of talented individuals who

sounded fantastic playing together! Love their stuff - the music

just fills my soul! This is my favorite era of music - the 1970's -

I was there so I am pleased to comment my opinion.

  • I worked with Pete before. A few years back we did a classic rock allstars show at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling WV. I was the house monitor engineer there at the time. I have no bad memories and a few good ones. they were a great bunch to work with.

  • ha his names McCrackin

  • Thats a baaaaaaaaaadd maaan right there!!! Mr Pete is the business!!

  • The first R&R drummer who was the lead singer. Eat your heart out Phil Collins. Been listening to these guys since day one and 3 times a week in the gym on my MP3.

  • so sad to see the legend getting old

  • @DANNYLEHRMANN not that sad considering his options . He's doing what he wants to do and that is a good thing. He still produces the sound that many have listened to, danced to and aged to for all of those decades. Not sad at all. Just glad that the legend is still functioning and illuminating.

  • @spitoncat Thanks for your comment. it is sad for me probably and not for him.

  • Top man,top tune top production.I must have played it a thousand times back in the 70s.You made life great.Power to you lot .Great.

  • Summer 1970, Get ready was one of my faves,,, still one rocking song!!!!!

  • I'm so glad to see him still around and doing what he loves.

    That's so cool.

  • Fantastic the way Rare Earth covered the Temptations song..Get Ready is absolutely brilliant and a powerful version..singing by Peter is just the best. 2011 groups need to learn from him...

  • Bravo Peter Rivera !!!! God Bless you !!!

  • Sir I pray you are in good health and still able to make music. Thanks for blessing me with your music and voice. Two weeks ago my 32-year-old son heard the live version of "Get Ready" and said that I had lived through a fantastic time in music history. It is a person like you who have made that history happen!Viva

  • Pete seems a cool guy! listen to the interviewer" back and practice" thick accent!

  • @MrSluggo666 Hahaha! What accent?

  • @66LifesMistress77 Midwestern U.S. perhaps.

  • Best voice in rock history, bar none! And how many bands can you think of, no more than a handful, that are fronted by the drummer?! I'm not far from Spokane, does anyone know if Celebrate plays locally?

  • Love this guy. What a great artist!

  • Is he tall or is the interviewer short?

  • @Spartacus217 Pete is at least 6'5". I saw him in the late 90's and was surprized how tall he was.

  • @AnthonyT50 Yes !!! ...Of course He is a Beast ,the Beast of the Drums !!!

  • boy, if you put rays around his face he'd look like a medieval picture of the sun

  • MR PETER RIVERA NO TE OLVIDAMOS,WE LOVE YOU,PEOPLE FRON SAN JOSE COSTA RICA,CENTROAMERICA..

  • PETER RIVERA WE LOVE YOU !!! PEOPLE FROM COSTA RICA,CENTROAMERICA.

  • I got to meet him at a Classic Allstars concert in 1995. Really nice, and humble guy, just like everybody says.

  • oh my god! hes 100!

  • Peter Rivera (and Rare Earth's) version of GET READY is one of the all-time greatest songs in the rock n roll era. Peter, we salute you.

  • Peter Rivera, was Rare Earth and is the Classic Rock All Stars. A few before him but there will be nobody after him. Saw him in the 70's and again in the 90's, Ageless.

  • Peter Rivera is truly genius.

  • I've always known how great a singer he is but damn he is one damn fine drummer on top of that. Something I never really paid attention to til recently when I heard the audio of a solo he did back in the day.

  • Very good drummer and singer...

  • So good to hear from Peter Rivera.

  • incredible talent! thanks!

  • Rock on, Peter!

  • Excellent, Pete. I always liked your stuff. You lived the life. Good for you.

  • WOW...IM OLD....

  • oh oh ohooh oh get ready

  • Gee, he doesnt look like a rock'n roller. No long hair, body piercing, or tattoos.

  • What a talent!!! Love their music.

  • I was just a fan who was lucky to be with a local news writer and met Pete, he's just like this, cool, he is a true ROCKER!!

  • Me being a 50 year old just starting a singing carreer, I find it is comforting to see someone who has been singing hard for so long to still have a great voice.

  • Backed up rare Earth in Calgary 1982 for 2 weeks...had a great time...Pete was a great guy...still is...check out GerryELode on you tube...i posted a bunch of songs from a board tape I made...check them out

  • Excellent.....congratulations

I't's seem Peter is a cool guy...

  • damn, this is cool.

  • One great guy, Pete is a really down to earth guy.

  • @jakerandall123 I agree. He actually wrote back to me when I sent him an email a couple of years back. He even took the trouble to listen to some tracks I recorded and gave his feedback. I was touched by his kindness.

  • "AWESOME" interview! =0o

  • if you get a chance gets petes book ...it is great.....i couldnt put it down

  • @paul12454 What is the title of his book?

  • Hey McCrackin,
