@BomberTheBrown Yes, you can do the same in NXT-G easily. It seems YouTube doesn't allow me to post URLs in comments (to prevent spam, presumably), but try the link in the video description (the box below the video, you have to press the arrow to expand it) and from my blog post there's a link to a similar robot that is programmed in NXT-G.
does that laser sensor type thing come with the kit?

@GMSamuelRhine Yes, it's the light sensor. It works in one of two modes, either reporting color (red, green, etc.) or brightness.

one question
do you think that putting the light sensor a few centimeters off the ground is better then a few millimeters?
coz i currently have a VERY similar design (different caterpillar wheels) and i put my sensor between the 2 motors
its doing pretty good, except the fact that it doesn't turn well sometimes and looses the line, or the light sensor just scans the line wrong
you think i should change the light sensor's positon's? and change the tracks to ruber tracks for beter tracktion?
