@igboking11 Marciano was a great fighter, not a scientific fighter but he had a courageous style where he just kept coming. He would have given Ali (after 1971) a really tough and close fight. However I believe the Ali of 1967 could not be beaten by anybody. If they met in their prime or Ali in 1974, no doubt Ali would win. If Foreman can't knock him out, Frazier can't, Liston can't and even Shavers with CLEAN SHOTS(!) can't, no way Marciano can knock Ali out.

Prime Marciano - 74 Ali would have been a tough close fight. Prime Marciano - 67 Ali, would have been a one sided fight for Ali.

If they had fought in real life the ring would have been about 20-24 feet so that would have helped Ali quite a bit. This video is shit. Rocky fought in an era when all the good boxers were old and on there way out. Ali had fought tuffer opponents who were in there prime. Rock couldn't have taken on someone like Foreman or Frazier. Foreman had one incredible strength in his punches yet he couldn't take out Ali. @igboking11 Marciano was a great fighter, not a scientific fighter but he had a courageous style where he just kept coming. He would have given Ali (after 1971) a really tough and close fight. However I believe the Ali of 1967 could not be beaten by anybody. If they met in their prime or Ali in 1974, no doubt Ali would win. If Foreman can't knock him out, Frazier can't, Liston can't and even Shavers with CLEAN SHOTS(!) can't, no way Marciano can knock Ali out.

He'd win, but not that easily. I think Ali versus Marciano in 1971, might actually have lost against him. I think he was in much better shape in 74. Prime Marciano - 74 Ali would have been a tough close fight. Prime Marciano - 67 Ali, would have been a one sided fight for Ali.

He beat some good contenders Quarry, Bonavena, Ellis, Chuvalo ect. Like i said take away those fights and then compare his fight record to that of Rockys and Rockys is resume is punctuated with better fighters and knocks them all out and has more fights than Joe. This was made after both boxers retired and was only filmed because Ali was not happy with his previous loss in "The Super Fight." Previously it was purely done on audio, this is as close as you'll get to a "real fight" between the two; and the results are extremely accurate.

Heres the thing in his prime Ali could not be cornered. The only reason Ali ever ended up on the ropes was because he moved there himself. The ring is way too small anyways! If they had fought in real life the ring would have been about 20-24 feet so that would have helped Ali quite a bit. Another thing is Ali never goes to the body so that is another thing that would be different. Marciano was a great fighter but Ali is in a class by himself

@fischparov I agree about Louis and Rocky. Louis admitted that he didn't like being crowded and Rocky knew how to get in close and work the body (as did Frazier later).
I also agree that Foreman may have beaten Rocky - not just because of the power but also because he would have used his open-handed push (whether legal or not) to keep Rocky at bay. And from a distance he would have had an enormous reach advantage over the Rock.

Can Ali keep him out of the inside, or tie him up, or punish him on the way in, or punish him on the way out? Probably. Could foreman keep him from getting inside? probably not. That would be a fascinating fight...Marciano all bunched up inside throwing those 8 inch body punches, while big george tries to uppercuut him, or push him back away far enough to hook.
