  • Excellent! Realy amazing. I thought that no one can sing this song except Mehdi Hassan. But you have done a wonderful job singing such a difficult ghazal in most extra ordinary style. Well done

  • One of the best renditions of the Shah-E-Shah e Ghazal.

  • ...Sung by the undisputed King of Music-Ustaad Mehdi Hassan khan sahib.and the lyrics by the great legendary Janaab Marhoom Ahmed Faraz Sahib..oh why are we losing all these Gems?

I had the honour to sit and converse with Faraz Sahib..whose real name actually was SYED AHMED SHAH-born in Kohat-Pakistan-a University professor in Peshawer and no doubt one of the best Urdu poets of this century-I shall forever cherish that day at Mehdi sahibs.. when both of them Gifted ME this song..!

    Thnx

Pyar Bhare (Mehndi Hasan Sahab), Mujse Pehli (Noor Jejan Sahiba), among others. If you find time, please listen to them. I look forward to your review.

  • Thanks Subhash ji for your sweet compliments. I am largely influenced by Runa Laila's rendition. Mehndi Hasan Saab original rendering, is a standard by itself.

Aaj to aapke saare gaane sun kar hi dam loonga. A real marvellous melodious voice. Just flood the channel with your songs old or new, male or female. I will send you the list of few numbers that I like the most. Thanks again for giving us such great renditions.

    adaigi.TSTALUJA

  • Thanks TSTALUJA JI...appreciate your comments...

  • Beautiful singing Jiyanthi. Your voice is suited to Ghazal singing. You took really good Harkats and feelings were good too. Whoever does the mixing of your songs should revise the amount of Reverb as this is too much at the moment. With correct mixing your singing would be spotless. Well done!

    Rgds, Sitarah

  • Many thanks Sitarah, I will ask Balu to send a message about mixiing and such.

  • Thanks for your comments. I made no attempt to emulate the INIMITABLE Mehdi Hasan Sahab...

I have been largely influenced by Runa Laila's rendition.

    najma

  • Thanks Najma

  • great singing as usual....as good as sung by Runa Laila long back....

  • Thanks for your generous compliment!

  • Lovely rendition , done with sweetness and depth as well as good ghazal gayaki-like voice modulation. I am forwarding this to Mr. Khalid Asghar, former Director, Radio Pakistan, Lahore, who has known Khan Saheb and Nayyar Noor for a long time and who himself is an excellent singer of geets and ghazals, for his expert evaluation.

  • I would change the title from Ranjishi Sahi to the correct Ranjish Hi Sahi.

  • Thanks will do it asap.

  • Chamoga ji, greatly appreciate your help in this and eagerly looking forward to Khalid Asghar ji 's feedback.

  • Thanks dear jabasong, for referring the matter to me. I feel obliged. You sang quite successfully, especially the BEHLAWA at the each word of the verse. Such songs need depth and expression. The track has been prepared intelligently, using Sitar from the Key-board. Other tone are better. If you like Mehdi Hassan, SEARCH, with my name: Khalid Asghar & find 40 items. 02 items, as tribute to Mehdi Hassan. 03 RARE items by MH, up loaded by cheecheepia channel.Music needs a continuous prectice.Go on.

  • Asghar Sahab:

Addab. I am honoured and elated to have you review and comment on my rendition of Ranjish Hi Sahi. I am very thankful to Chamogaa Ji (Vipan Bhai as you know him) for referring it to you. I agree such songs need depth and expression, but I need your guidance and help to enhance it. Do you have any tips and suggestions for me?

I am very fond of Mehdi Hasan Saab's renditions and I will ceratinly listen to all of your posttings.

  • Dear jabasong, i posted my comment for your pleasure and encouragement. But it is my heart-felt observation. Please go on, and go on. You can sing better. Still you rendered very perfect. Khalid asghar.

  • Asghar sahab:

I am very thankful for yor comments. Why is it that I feel "I coulfd have sung it better" after I post a rendition ? It's happened to me on a number of occassions. How can I get past that feeling?

  • I tried to clear. How can a singer have the feelings, while rendition? The singer should read and understand the text (poetry) with seriousness and try to know the meaning with all it's references. 2) One should listen to the senior artist with urge and a sense of learning and try to understand the behaviour (applied) of the senior with the words & melody.3) Think of the melody and learn by heart, see it,s various shades to express better 4) .Finally, have a genuinely skilled one to assess.

  • Dear jabasong. Thanks for the need of my comment on your song. I have posted my judicious assessment. You rendered quite well. And, also invited you to SEARCH, with my name: Khalid Asghar, to watch my videos and listen to my voice and other great singers, where i worked as composer. Hope, you will like and post your comments. Thanks. Khalid Asghar.

  • I will most certainly listen to your postings. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my video and offer comments. I value your comments a great deal...

  • Thanks chamogaa (Vipan Bhai), for referring the matter to me. i have posted to my assessment. My evaluation cannot be better than you. but our comments may give a boost to the artsits, to go on the right track, to get more ability and encouragement. Genuine comments add to an artist, with critical and detailed comments. Khalid Asghar. Thanks.

  • Asghar Sahab and Chamogaa Ji:

I am honoured and very thankful to both of you. I value your comments a great deal and seek your guidance, tips and suggestions for improvement. I look forward to your continued support and encouragement.

  • Dear chamogaa (Vipanm Bhai), i posted my comment to my knowledge and experience. Find me, at your disposal. Khalid Asghar.

  • Thanks chamogaa (Vipan Bhai), for referring this matter to me. I have posted my comment to my knowledge and experience. I add Raga Aiman OR Yeman starts from *Ni Re Sa* but, i cannot submit comments better than you. How evr, always find me, at your disposal. Khalid asghar.

  • All books of Ahmed Faraz, my favorite poet lie before me in my book shelf. What an amazing poet! I remember 70% of his poetry by heart, and of Ghalib, too. Love and admire both of them as much as one can.

Thanks for sharing this ghazal, sung in a clear voice by jabasong. Excellent Performance.

  • Indeed, it is awesome poetry. Couple of Urdu words that I don't understand, Balu gets the meaning with explanation from a friend. I refuse to sing without knowing the meaning, because I won't be able to do the justice to the song. I am thankful to my good friend Suhanee for forwarding it to you - I could perhaps seek your help in understanding the poetry, going forward? Thanks for listening:)

  • I will be too glad, if I can be of any help to you.

    Best Wishes.
