@BigsGaming Have you seen Key's other works like Kanon(2006) and Air? I think Ano hana kinda has the same feel as Kanon. Also, there's ef: a tale of memories and the sequel A tale of melodies. Other than that, I haven't seen anything that remotely has the same amount of emotion in it.

Man, you may say Ano Hana is sad (wich actually is), but at least in my point of view, there are stories out there much saddier than this one. I mean, try watching Clanand (anime) or reading Little Busters (visual novel) and then watch Ano Hana again. I don't think it will still have the same impact as before.

(The kid) trying not to give spoilers lol It would of been heart breaking bit it didnt. But I'll give you this I cried a few times in clannad. But that could be because Clannad was 26+ episodes why Anohana only had 11 with the impacting ending.

I love tragedy.  That's all i have to say. There are only two anime that ever made me cry. Negima! and Samurai 7 in the final episode. Fullmetal Alchemist (Original) came VERY close when my favorite character died though. Didn't cry for this show, Kanon, Clannad, Air, ToraDora, Code Geass, etc. I just LOVE TRAGEDY!!! =)

This anime was boring. I'd call it manipulative, only it seems too simple. Right, okay... think about it... really flex your brain muscles... what about this show didn't feel forced and derivative? Jesus christ... one guys emotional conclusion summed up to: "i thought you were funny." And the audience is really meant to buy that the main source of tension in the show comes from some sort of preteen love quadrangle.

The anime sort of hinted that it was because Jintan missed her and the peace buster deeply, while the others buried and refused to recall their memory because of love and guilt. The shadow probably means that these six peace busters are best friends again and menma is "living" in everyone's heart.
