To continue ... when the I-Dogs broke up in 1975, Don played a tape of the song for then-BOC co-manager/co-producer Murray Krugman, who liked the hook and rewrote the rest of the lyrics, to which then-BOC drummer Albert Bouchard wrote all-new music. This is why the credits read: Bouchard-Krugman-Waller.

Aside from Current 93, the BOC version has been covered by the Nomads (as the Screamin' Dizbusters), the U.V.'s, Lizzy Borden, and L7.

Yes, BOC's version is better, but I give Current 93 credit for being aware of this lost classic, and covering it in their own scrappy style.

When I played this song off the LP on Seattle's KCMU,(RIP) it had a different title, something like "Happy Birthday."

Maybe they were trying to avoid attention from Columbia Records' legal department?
