Bottom line, there's no need for anyone to give this era a chance...this powerful music is just an extension of all great American music. It's been building for decade upon decade. Hard to find a song today, that isn't influenced by this great band and all the others before them.....and it will go on and on. For myself, EW&F is one of my all-time favorites....all things, uniquely American....

All Music is derived from, comes from and is influenced by AFRICAN MUSIC of which Egypt is a part thereof - which even Maurice and EWF acknowledge the ancestors and uses the African instruments to enhance and complement the EWF sound.

This DVD is awesome--from 1999 on A& E Live.The only thing that would make their performance better would be if Maurice was there. The audio on this DVD is incredible .Verdine and Moe doing the dueling basses on " Getaway" is the pinnacle of their performance.There is NO other band that can do what they do--sing, dance, and play--period.

Take metal for example. Go back to the 80's and listen to Judas Priest. You will hear metal that has not been surpassed since. Listen to EWF. You will never hear anything that comes remotely close since the days Maurice White created the band.
