Lot's of the Chinese people I meet do give me the impression of having less individual merit than some other ethnic groups. They often appear to lack clearly defined personality traits compared to other nationalities. I guess the race puts a lot of focus on collective identity so this leads to a bias against individual thought and action. Not saying they are bad people, just that they don't particularly care about things happening around them.

Lot's of the Chinese people I meet do give me the impression of having less individual merit than some other ethnic groups. They often appear to lack clearly defined personality traits compared to other nationalities. I guess the race puts a lot of focus on collective identity so this leads to a bias against individual thought and action. Not saying they are bad people, just that they don't particularly care about things happening around them.
