@piepiepie00092 the story of adam and eve and Noah is in the Bibles Old Testament and the Old Testament is what the Jewish believe,so how exactly could a Jew be in any way uncomfortable with this story?
@zlevine14 That is because Stephen Schwartz, who created this, also created Wicked. Of course this came first and was not put on Broadway therefore being the less popular of the two. But this musical of course shares all the musical style famous for being used by Mr. Schwartz
Just to interject, this show is not even about the Biblical story. The story is about parent-children relationships and simply uses Biblical characters so that people can relate easily.
this show should not offend anybody because it only contains old testemant stuff for the most part. Im jewish and im not completely uncomfortable doing this show. The show means more than just the religious aspects, its sending across the morals that most people who are hypocritical when it comes to religion would otherwise not recognize when reading the text.
this show is amazing im doing it right now jjst started rehersals and i cant wait! this is prob one of my fav. numbers! that and generations!!!!! cant wait to do this show
i cannot thank you enough for posting these, i'm in this musical in october and the music is so difficult and its a lot easier to learn with the recording. legit, you are my savior lol
@ProudChristian316 Dude.... It's a musical, a mu-si-cal. It's not supposed to preach the word of god and of coarse it's not going to be super religious or accurate because it's A MUSICAL! It's meant to entertain! I'm a christian myself but I don't see why you need to care this much about A MUSICAL!!!
@Swordmaster10 Christians are not to entertain themselves with the blasphemies of this world, the Bible clearly teaches that. This goes the same for books and movies. Pornography is meant to entertain and it is sinful. All sin is equal, even if society doesn't view it that way. Society has said reading about witches and warlocks are okay, but it is still sin and that is anti-Christ.
@ProudChristian316 It's not a Christian's job to point out sin to others. Jesus spent much of his time on earth berating the people who set strict rules and who judged the ones who did not follow rules. If enjoying this show is a sin, it's not your job to inform us. It's your job to love us despite our sins. It's your job to be responsible for your own choices. Be proud of your Christianity, but not to the point of egotism. We all fall short. Try mercy instead of judgment. *hug*
@ProudChristian316 How is taking stories from the Bible and making them into a play sinful? From what I understand, that would encourage the Christians that watch it and for non-Christians that watch it, it would send the Christian message.
@andstufftheendness To be quite honest, a lot of the stuff in this show isn't in the bible, and that's why he doesn't like it. Now that's no reason for him to complain but that's why he's complaining.
@ProudChrisitan316 I'm a Christian myself, and will be in this play in October. I know it's not all in the Bible, but from what I've seen what they added doesn't necessarily contradict the Bible, and if it's encouraging other Christians and getting the message to those who are not, I'm not seeing the problem.
@andstufftheendness I wouldn't worry about it anymore. The only reason I didn't remove his comment was because I didn't care too much about it. On any topic there are people who will complain, and people who will be against the complainers. It's his opinion, and although I do not agree with it, I will defend to the death his right to say it. Ha ha ha....
@Swordmaster10 Yes, I agree he has a right to his opinion. I have no problem with the fact the comments weren't removed. It leaves the potential for good, kind, civil debate, which gives the chance for anyone to give their opinion. I'm glad they were left up.
dont care what anyone says this is the greatest opening to a show ever. 5:46 is unbelievable. chills every time I cant even take it
