I wish they distinguished between 5cp and the other cp maps, that is, not having the same cp_ prefix so I can filter by cp_ and not get shitbowl and co. Separating them in Quick Play would be nice too.

I really enjoy playing arena, but you are right Star - it isn't balanced. at all. I have fun due to the server I play on putting certain restrictions in, which are needed. I've played on some arena servers where you are against 4 engineers on lumberyard. Try running over the roof as a scout and you will be spectating a cloak and dagger spy for the next 3 minutes. The only way to balance arena is to put class limits and weapon blocks in. Get that right though, and it's a really fun mode :)

Most of what I play is arena simply because of how fed up I get with the dysfunctional teams I join in other game modes. While there are weapons that break it (ie tomislav, enforcer), there are many things about arena that really set it apart from its counterparts. You'll find that the frequenters of an active arena server are all friends that play the game mode exclusively. That's because when they're not fighting, they're chatting it up in spectate waiting for the next round to begin.

I think the reason why arena mode is missing is because that function is generally used by newer players (older players have their servers already), and arena mode is NOT a gamemode for beginners.

@Aml2296 You are gonna camp no matter what in arena with the cloak and dagger though. Also, theres ammo packs everywhere, so if you are playing tve way you described, the dagger isnt worth it for you. Just try and learn cloak management, its not as hard as it looks.

I use the cloak and dagger all the time in arena. You just have to know how to use weapons for that gamemode. A lot of spys use the C&D for camping which is probably the worst thing you could do in arena. You have to constantly be moving or else the other team will naw down your team till that spy camping in the corner is the last one left. I generally use the C&D in arena so I don't have to worry about my watch running out of charge.
