@maklarenf1 I pasted the directions above in the video description area. Click on "Show More" to see them. I should have done that a long time ago! Hope it helps you out, Rob W1AEX
@jamsouth2 The 8900 will run full duplex between 2 meters and 70 cm, however, to be absolutely certain it will do what you want, I would urge you to download the operating manual from the Yaesu site.
There is one antenna port on the back of the 8900. I use a Comet GP-15 (6m/2m/440) tri-band antenna at the home station with mine and that works out fine. In the car I use a Maldol EX-510 for 6m/2m/440 and it does very well on all three bands.
Have you 'opened up' your UHF so you can transmit on the Marine bands?
It's very handy if you take your 8900 on your boat. You can communicate on the ham bands on 1 VFO while monitoring or transmitting on the other VFO. It's a very easy modification.
Next time I drag the camera tripod out I will add a video of the 8900 with some local activity on it. I have enjoyed watching your 8900 adventures in your videos. Your blue LED project is really nice!
ok i see that if you press 1 only selected channels are scanning.
If me storing settings on 1 then changing settings and storing on 2 the transcievier scan the same freq on 1 and 2 :(
What i do wrong ??

i am looking at on of these radios, but i have two questions,
can you use the cross band repeater function to link a 2m repeater and 70cm repeater to each other.
how many antennas do you need for this radio?
thanks
